Thankfully we have good cheese here in Australia!!! In fact there's a place that makes cheese up the hill behind me (sounds really near - takes me about an hour or so). It's also full of wineries - I like that hill a lot!!! Okay it calls itself Mount - but it's a hill.
Oh yes, we have good wine too!! I love JUDDD!! |

I found marmite here and almost got some. Will my American palate be able to handle it?
I'm always trying new things . . . |

Ooh, marmite!
Think it's true you either love it or you hate it. Me, I love it, especially on hot buttered toast (hmm, notes this down for UD very soon... ).Thought I'd pop in to say hello, being a UK person. As I said on the newbies thread, I've been lurking around here for a while. I got started on JUDDD on 1 April and was finding it really easy but then went down with a bad cold (and then a poorly tummy ) so lost my way for a bit. Back on course today, on an UD of course ).Today I've re-experienced the wonder of a sausage baguette and have lasagne to look forward this evening! JUDDD ![]() |

Try it - it truly is the 'dark side' - LOL!!!
I must give some thought to making some gazpacho - I love it! Will have to google it - to get a basic recipe. Can see that it would be a great staple to have in the fridge on a DD (and on UD - as I love it sooo much!) It's moving into Winter here (okay only Autumn at the moment!!) - but we still have lovely sunny days in the low to mid 20s. It's funny JUDDD has not hit the Australian shores yet - I haven't see the book in a single book store - and no-one has any idea what I'm talking about!! Wondering who I can get on board? I have some friends who are trying to lose weight - but I think I need to have a more dramatic loss here (ie I've not lost that much since I arrived here!) for them to start asking questions. I've been sitting around the same 4 or 5 lbs for the past month - I have a feeling that this next month is going to see a big drop!

Tried it and loved it!
Must be in my genetic code. It's almost like cooked down pan drippings, which I love with bread too. |

Hi all, just stopping by to introduce myself as a newbie! I've been doing JUDDD for almost two weeks now and have lost over 5lbs, so I'm very happy. I find the DDs tough, but love
the UDs! I have Kissa to thank for luring me over to the dark side by the way - she's inspired me with her amazing success. I live in Abu Dhabi but I'm from the UK - and I'm heading there on Thursday, can't wait. After reading this board I'm looking forward to a lovely west country ploughmans, a cream tea and marmite! Look forward to getting to know you all! x |

Hi guys, I have a couple of questions - I'm sure one of the other boards would be more appropriate but there are so many I find them confusing!
What is MUDDD? And what is Fast 5? I've worked out that FD is a Full/Free/Feast Day! Thanks! x |

LOL!!!!
I'm not 100% sure of the words that make up MUDDD - but it basically amounts to people who do a 24 hour UD/DD rotation - choosing to start at say 3pm in the afternoon So today is Monday I wake up and I'm still on yesterday's DD B: DD food L: DD food at 3pm my day becomes an UD D: UD food Tuesday B: UD food L: UD food at 3pm my day becomes a DD D: DD food Does that make sense?? Fast 5 - is something I use on DD when I know that I am going to eat more food - but perhaps don't have time to change my rotation - or can't - because the next day is an UD. Mum & I used it a lot over Christmas I think it amounts to basically choosing a 5 hour period in which to eat in. So over Christmas - we did the following rotation: 24 Dec - Fast 5 25 Dec - Free Day 26 Dec - Fast 5 27 Dec - UD I wouldn't recommend it in the first 2 weeks - but it can help with other times. |

Thanks for the explanation, Vicky!
I'm sticking to strict UD/DD rotations for now, I want to be back in my nice clothes ASAP, but will keep this in mind for when I need an exception... My MD last week for Easter did not derail me, but I'm worried at the ease of it, and I know myself, so back to being strict it is! No loss to report after the weekend, could be due to water retention, spent two and a half hours hiking yesterday on my DD... Felt fine, no major hunger till I got home afterwards, LOL! At least the scales aren't going up!!!

Thanks for that Mint, a great help!
I think most of my DDs are a Fast 5, as I tend to just eat one meal in the evening. I'm loving my UD today! x |

You really do belong on this thread Dawn. It is just the best thing, if you love it. There is now middle ground, just love it or hate it. lol.
I am delighted with the way my day is going. 1 soya flat white and 1 Bovril drink, so 95 cals. Planning on shiritake with Arabiata Sauce and a salad. After a load of eating at the weekend I weighed in at 125 this morning, not at all bad when you think that my goal is still officially 126. What I am loving is that I have no feeling of guilt. That used to haunt me after special events while I was on LC. Today I just feel very happy that I ate and drank with dear friends for a an important celebration and here I am, with an easy DD to get everything back on track.

Good morning everyone!
Vicky: congrats on your loss! This is great news! Cindy: I'm with you on the no guilt! I feel great and just happy I can join my friends for dinner withouth all the stress of asking for something special for me! Dawn: welcome to our Marmite loving UK/Europe/Expats/Etc club!!!! By the way, another great way to get some marmite in your diet on an up day: Toast some white bread, spread some marmite on, then cover with good cheddar, and pop it under the grill until all nice golden and bubbly... YUMYUMYUM!!!!! Today is my DD, I'm trying to fast as long as possible, have only had coffee and water so far and feel just fine. No hunger at all, so I guess I won't eat anything till I really feel hungry... |

Well done Mint, go girl!
Kissa, I'm still struggling with the guilt a little on UDs, but it's slowly easing and I'm starting to enjoy the freedom! Dawn, I'm definitely buying some marmite from the UK to bring back with me. DD for me to Mimosa, and also trying to fast til dinner time - just lots of black coffee! x |

Yay to the love of Marmite!
I am so pleased that you are seeing the scales move again VIcky. The great thing is that with JUDDD you just don't seem to get discouraged when things slow down or even 'stall'. Partly because we only diet half the time. I am so loving it. I was down to a nice 13.6 this morning and am enjoying an UD. Had a facial this morning then off to visit the hospital this afternoon. Hoping to go our for a meal tonight. |

I'm contemplating a Zumba Class tomorrow morning!
We are going on a Cruise in July - it's a kind of work thing - now just need work so I can pay for it!!!! There are 3 days at sea - and I'll be attending lectures and brainstorming sessions with other trainers. DH will have to entertain himself - or speak to other 'partners'. Then we'll be calling into Noumea and Lifou in New Caledonia - and Vila in Vanuatu. Adding ther South Pacific to places I've been...... It will be fun doing the cruise with a bunch of people. So, it would be nice to have lost a bit more by then! |
