Congrats on the new low, and to quitting smoking! I switched to an e-cig last May to help quit smoking. I've not touched a regular cigarette since then and have gradually cut down on the level of nicotine.

lola5k 04-08-2012 09:18 AM

Thats brill and great on the quitting of the cigarettes and imagine all those that you would have smoked WOW what a number. ..and if anyone would like to quit they only need to look at the lung of some one who has chronic lung disease/COPD (my Mum!) on Wikipedia it should be enough for you to give up.

Hope everyone has a fab Easter.

Kissa 04-08-2012 10:16 AM

:jumpjoy::jumpjoy::jumpjoy: Yay Pami, you hare doing so well, and special :hugs: on keeping off the killer sticks.

WTG!
I quit smoking in Sept. 2011.
keep up the good work!

Violet_Dream 04-08-2012 10:57 AM

Congratulations! It's a tough habit to break, that's for sure. I smoked for fifteen years and quit cold turkey over thirteen years ago. My husband quit about nine years ago.

YAY for you! :high5:

I quit a few years ago but still want one sometimes. I've thought about the e-cigarette. How do you like it?

KathyL 04-08-2012 11:52 AM

Yeah for you!!!!!!

I hit a new low today as well. That Easter Bunny is busy this year! LOL

I took to it right away, and used the highest level of nicotine available until I got over any cravings for regular cigarettes. Just stay away from those mall kiosks selling overpriced e-cig kits! Look online for the electronic cigarette forum. It's probably the best resource for information and is run by real people, not advertisers trying to sell a product.

My sense of taste and smell have improved, and I've had fewer problems with seasonal allergies since making the switch.

ETA: there are zero nicotine liquids available if you just want the experience of vaping. For me the addiction wasn't just nicotine, I enjoyed the physical part of smoking.

Congrats, Pami!

I quit smoking many years ago and I never think about it anymore except to be grateful that I'm not doing it!

CharlotteChick 04-08-2012 05:04 PM

And it's a double win for you! Congratulations! :jumpjoy:

Happy Easter! :)

sazzie 04-08-2012 05:54 PM

Pami,

A big :congrats: to you for the win-win of a new low and quitting cigs.

I quit exactly 3 years ago today on April 8, 2009 and if it weren't for the e-cig, I'm not sure I could have been successful!

As lisamt said, the electronic cigarette forum is the best resource for information.

If you need more info you can PM me!

Exactly. I have no desire for nicotine, but the physical act of smoking is very stress relieving for me.

Congratulations Pami, on both counts! I too quit smoking on June 19, 2011, and finally got the e-cig to help, and it really does. The main reason I got them...I quickly put on 20 pounds, and no amount of LC was helping me to lose it. Still didn't lose (until JUDDD), but they did help not to gain even more!

Mimosa23 04-10-2012 04:26 AM

Well done on both counts, congratulations!!!!!!
