Pregnancy and JUDDD

Nope not preggo here.

Just curious what your stance would be on JUDDD maintenance calories while pregnant??

It's my thinking that it wouldn't be bad as long as the pregnancy is progressing like it should and you're doing the best you can to give the baby nutrients.

Only reason I think along those lines is because some of us have been blessed with 9 months of morning sickness and probably ate that way naturally anyway. :p

What Say You?? :D

Personally, I think it would be fine. Your body is made to nourish a baby first. Every other day calorie restriction wouldn't keep keep nutrients from your baby. I would just be sure I ate very, very well on the UDs. JMO

I think it would be fine too. I posted about this before... My thinking is that you only need an extra 500 cals per day for the baby, so as long as you added that in, you'd be fine.

Agreed. I think maintenance calories plus a bit more for the baby would be sufficient. I wouldn't do just straight maintenance calories though.

Thanks Everyone!!

I appreciate the input. Was just thinking about whether or not we'll be having another one and how I may eat during that time.

First pregnancy was the 9 month flu... I was lucky if I could hold anything down and often it was the "not very healthy" stuff that did stay down. :stars:

Second pregnancy I low carbed (without ketosis), felt AWESOME, morning sickness was much easier. But thinking about it now I almost naturally had days where I ate more... and others where I didn't eat as much.

I asked about this a few months ago, we're going to start trying for #3 in June. I gained 50 with #1 and 60 with #2, so I'm really trying to avoid that the next time. I was so sick, yet somehow managed to gain a ton of weight. I'm just so freakin hungry when I'm pregnant, there is no controlling it.
