Funnily though, I thought I'd be going mad with all kinds of rubbish on UDs to compensate for the DDs, but that hasn't happened. I haven't really been tempted to have a meal of pizza, chips, crisps and ice-cream even though I was a bit concerned that I would be living on them.
I'm sure I will eat them, but it seems like I won't be compelled to horse into any sweet, salty or gooey foods on sight! This diet is weird! |

Hello JUDDD BUDDDS!
Hi, my name is Shelly (Shell, Shellifer, Shellifiknow, I'll answer to just about anything!) and I've decided to join all you fabulous people here and have jumped on the JUDDD wagon! I've been doing LC for almost two months now and have done pretty well in losing 16.5 pounds, but was starting to feel a little deprived. I lurked in the Main Lobby and noticed a lot of people had this strange JUDDD thing in their profile or siggy and decided I had to find out what it was all about. All I can say is WOW - you guys ROCK!
I was trying to figure out when to start because I have a birthday coming up in a couple of weeks and wanted to be sure I could go out that night and not have to worry about what I was eating, but I just kept coming up with excuses as to why I couldn't fit in a DD. Finally I just convinced myself to jump in with both feet and I know I made the right decision. Today our boss took the whole department out to Buffalo Wild Wings, and even though it was my second DD, I did great by having the Naked Tenders and cole slaw for a total of 430 cals. Tomorrow I'm going shopping with a girlfriend and she wants to try out the new Joe's Crab Shack and I can't tell you how thrilled I am that I can indulge a little and not have to stress about it! I want to thank all the great people here for all the great advice and information, I look forward to being able to help others myself one day! Hi Newbies and Mentors!
![]() I'm headed out tomorrow on a 1 week work trip, so I weighed today to get my baseline number (won't weigh while I'm there). Check out my new sig! <---------- and below! 20 days, almost 9.5 pounds. I'm flabbergasted!I've been planning my week ahead so I know that I have options on my DDs and I'll try not to go to nuts on my UDs, and I have a couple MDs in there, also planned. VERY excited that this flexible WOE is working for me! Thanks for all your support and question answering and leading-the-way!

Hi everyone -- My one week results: 4 lbs lost. Now I know that's great and I can't expect much more but, until I get down to about 184 (10 more lbs.) I'm going to be disappointed with whatever I see on the scale. I've lost this same weight over and over in the last two years. I've been down to 184 several times. I'm so mad at myself for gaining...
So when I saw 194 on the scale this morning, after seeing 198 last week, it just wasn't that exciting. I know it's not going to happen overnight and I need to just look ahead. Yesterday was my first really hard DD. I was so hungry all day...then made the mistake of going to a late movie last night. I was starving--appropriately, it was 'The Hunger Games' : )

Thanks for all the warm welcomes! This really is the best place on the internet!
![]() Just wanted to share that yesterday I finally made it into ONEDERLAND!!! And since today is my DD, I don't plan to blow that by weighing, I'll wait until tomorrow for that!P.S. Dawn - Joe's was fantastic! I had planned to have the cheesecake for dessert, but once I was finished with the meal I just couldn't do it! I am thrilled with losing 4 pounds in a week because that was how much I lost the entire month of March eating low calorie/low carb. Today is my JUDD Day 22 -- I've lost nearly 12 pounds. It took THREE MONTHS of low calorie/low carb eating to lose less than 15 pounds. There's something about JUDD that is magic. Just keep going!

WOO HOO to our losers!
![]() I know what you mean Liliana-- I checked my records, and I was at this same weight 1yr ago. But I've not been lower much longer than that, so I'm happy about 249, but I'll be THRILLED with 245 ******* I"m doing my first long-distance trip on JUDDD. My trip to my mom's house didn't really count since I had a fridge, kitchen, and could do whatever I wanted. So, I hit the ground here, and went to Target. Bought cauli/brocc in bags (fresh) at 25cal per serving (and I have a mini scale I took with me). Fridge in the room. I bought a small jar of mini dill pickles (0cal for 3). Most importantly, I found that 10cal spray dressing, so my plan is to have the veggies on my DD's, either raw or nuked (rented a microwave for $10 for the stay). I bought an Almond milk and will get 4 servings from that. I've worked out what I can eat on my DD's (and where--though I have 3oz leftover bbq brisket from tonight's dinner, so I might do that for Wednesday's DD, and sashimi for tomorrow) and I'll do the same for my UD's (lovely breakfast bar here). So, mostly-- very excited that I can have a couple good DD's here, and not go off plan. ![]() |

Wow Casmira, nice one.
Soren, you are doing so well. "Plan the dive and dive the plan." Well that was when I was learning to scuba dive, but it worlds with JUDDD too. |

Hi everyone! Well done Casmira! :kick:
Thanks Cindy! Today was my first ever DD while doing stand up, classroom, training. I'm pretty active-- on my feet, at the board, walking around, and VERY energetic, b/c the material can be a bit dry... so I was worried I might be low energy. My planning (love the dive the plan, plan the dive thing-- we have a similar saying at home, about "stick to the plan" for things like vacations and excursions...) REALLY worked today. almond milk for breakfast. Green salad (it was pre-dressed though, ah well... it was just oil/vinegar, herbs) and then my planned sashimi meal, and I totally stuck to it! I'm around 700 instead of my usual 500 for a DD, but I still count it as a win. I'm going to fully enjoy tomorrow's UD-- breakfast buffet, salad for lunch again, and then a really nice dinner. Oh-- and I've explained JUDDD to about 3 people so far today, and after they get past the 500 cal every other day thing, no one's told me I'm nuts. They see it's about 1300 (for me) on average, and the mental advantage of only dieting every other day (so, I don't tell them about counting calories each day... whatevs ) and I"m not getting any funny looks!Helps that I can also say I've lost as much weight in 3 weeks as I did the first 3 months of the year! LOVVVE JUDDD!!! S. |

Morning! Today is my first DD - giving this a shot to see how it goes this week, if I can handle it, etc...
B - 2 hb eggs 140cals L - progresso light santa fe style chicken soup 160cals D - 1 can chunk light tuna w/ 1 T light mayo & 1 T dill relish - 135cals S - apple & sf jello cup - 75cals Total for the day 510 I guess I could always skip the jello cup but I had one here at work needed to eat out of the fridge... Yesterday my first UD wasn't so great on food choices but I was wanting carbs! 1940 cals...Breakfast was a burrito w/ 2 strips of bacon, spinach, mushrooms, onions, red bell peppers, little cheese w/ salsa. Lunch was chickfila sandwich w/ mayo/ketchup & sunchips. Dinner was skillet crisp tilapia w/ 1 T tartar, broccoli/cheese for 1 & 1/2 slice of cake from work. It was our monthly birthday celebration...I was finally able to enjoy a pc of cake! Wanted to buy some pure protein drinks but they were 10.99 on SALE at Kroger! I figured WalMart would be cheaper. Will check there tonight.

Going into my 4th DD tomorrow. So far so good, although I may move from 300 to 400 calories on DDs until I feel a touch more comfortable. So far, this is nothing but wonderful except from 11am-2pm on DDs, during which time I'm a neurotic, clock-watching freak. That's about 9 hrs a week. When I eat poorly, I'm a neurotic freak 24/7, so this is a relief. I've been away from a scale most of the week, but I'll weigh in tomorrow.
Thanks again for all of the great conversations going on here. They're hugely helpful. |

I switched out tuna/mayo for a Pure Protein shake for dinner! Adding that to the 2 bites I took of a Luna Protein bar before lunch (bad habit I guess - snacking - I was a bit hungry I guess)...Anyway I came in at 559 for today. Not bad for my first DD. I wasn't starving all day long. I'm very surprised that I've only eaten what I have an wasn't crazy hungry! This is SO COOL! My protein for today is 50g. Loving ************ app w/ the barcode scanner!
Looking forward to eating more food tomorrow and here's to hoping the scale is down tomorrow! JOY - I am so used to weighing myself EVERY DAY since Oct 24th that it's hard for me to stay off the scale! I will only weigh on morning of UD's though! |

Joy and Natasha-- good work! Just take it day by day... and I agree, it's amazing that the DD's aren't generally as bad as you THINK they're going to be. In honesty-- yes, sometimes it's very hard, but other times, it's really not. I'm just amazed myself!
I had a super fun UD, might have gone 50-100 cal over my upper limit, but I really ate WELL today, so no regrets, and I am fully stocked (physically, mentally) for a good DD tomorrow. I have tomorrow planned out though-- almond milk for breakfast, salad for lunch, and veggies and brisket for dinner. Lots of sf iced tea in between Have a good night ya'll! Soren |

Afternoon! On my 2nd UD. I was down a 1/2 a pound this morning. I worked out last night for the first time in a LONG time! I did the biggest loser strength training so I could be retaining some water this morning.
The Pure Protein shake was GREAT! My tummy growled twice yesterday I think. I know right before bedtime but it didn't bother me much. |
