HOW MANY OF YOU ARE TAKING RESERATROL?

Hi everyone, I just started JUDDD and would like to know how many of you on JUDDD take Reservatrol suggested by Dr. Johnson?
Any help would be appreciated, and if you take it, do you like it or not?
Thanks!

Hi Janice and !! I encourage you to also do a search for "resveratrol" in the JUDDD forum since we've had some good info and discussion around it in the past. As for me, I can tell you that I get my resveratrol from red wine and other foods. I did buy a cheap supplement from Walmart a few weeks ago, but I never seem to take it, so it doesn't count, lol.

I don't take it.

There are a few who are dosing with this though, so I expect they will pop in and answer you as they get online here and see your post.

I take it! I have been taking it for about 3 weeks now, faithfully.

I am not sure about the weight loss, because I have only lost 5 in the last 3 weeks, but I also had 1 MD ea week, so it is hard to tell.

The one thing I do know, is that my energy is through the roof! Even on DD, I feel like I have to take Mag to go to sleep. To be fair, this could be the result of my Sirt1 or Resveratrol. Also, I have been sleeping very well, sound, when I do fall asleep, almost too well.

I am not sure if I will continue it or not when this runs out. I like to take the least amount of supps as I possibly can. Will let you know soon!

Not me either. Read quite some time back (not in this forum) that the popular opinion was not to waste your money. Not my opinion since I haven't used it, but it was said that it didn't seem to have a noticable benefit. I have definitely had increased energy without it too! Soooo....I'm happy!!!

I don't take it either. I think just by the amount of people doing very well and NOT taking it, it's at least an indicator that it's not necessary. I have no idea if it's beneficial though.

Maybe you could be our guinea pig? Do a month without and a month with and see if there's any difference.

Thank for posting Janice!

I have been taking for a week and lost -1.5 so I'm going to continue to take it as long as I am losing.

Here are a few articles I found when googling Resveratrol and Weight Loss:

Resveratrol: Can This Natural Supplement Help You Lose Weight?

Resveratrol revs up metabolism, promotes weight loss in first ever primate study

Nothing earth shattering but interesting I think. Some of the comments below are interesting also.

Been taking it a little over a month now. Don't know if it has been a weight-loss boost or not. I have lost 10# in the last month; 6 of them since starting JUDDD 9 days ago. Too soon for me to draw any resveratrol conclusions yet really.

curious myself. I seen the resveratrol and I also seen red wine extract. I am wondering also if those are one in the same? I dont want to take it so much because Dr J recommends for weightloss, though thats a plus. I was looking at it as a heart health idea. Since my Dad had this 3rd heart attack. I worry about me. Its a genetic thing. And well I dont want one!!! I dont drink so the liquid form wont help me!! lol!!!

Thanks everyone for your opinions on Reservatrol.
KeirasMom I will be a guinea pig. I took my first two capsules with dinner tonight. I will let you know what happens.
My second DD was so much easier than my first. Not bad at all and I kept it just about 500 calories.

I've taken it, on and off, about five years.

That last thread + this one motivated me to find and research my old weight notebooks. When I was strictly LC, my weight loss rate slowed or stalled when I ran out and forgot to buy more. With JUDDD it does not seem to make a weight-loss difference in the long term. At the beginning, I think it was supportive while I built up my own stockpile of sirtuin enzymes.

Like Sunday, I do find it enhances my energy levels.

Two fiats:
1) The 'scientist' who did most of the 'res enhances weight loss' research was caught cheating, was fired, and all of his work is now being reviewed. Winter of 2012 the is a big conference on res scheduled. We should get better info from that.

2) Res is expensive to make. The 'cheap' versions frequently contain very little actual substance. I encourage anyone planning to try it to do some serious research about what is available in their price range and what gets good reviews before starting. I am experimenting with a variety of brands.

i do take it because it was on the list of supplements recommended by Dr. Jack kruse.
HOW DOES HCG EFFECT A PALEO TEMPLATE? - Jack Kruse i dont knoiw yet it there is any difference that i can attribute to the resveratrol since i started all the dr. kruse supps at about the same time.

you dont get it from red wine. it forms in the skins and roots in response to fungus attack. commercial grapes are dusted with anti fungals to prevent this very thing. and a cheap product from wal-mart may or may not contain any. depends on how the grape plants were treated to resist fungus. or not.

I was taking a different antioxidant, one of the amino acids? I forget it's name (will look it up when I get home in a few days), and I also felt icky. Went back to the guy at the vitamin store and he basically said, yep, antioxidants can do that to people.... I still have it b/c it was expensive (!) but I've not taken it since.
I'm sticking to vitamin C and stuff like that for now.

thomasina838- Can I ask you if you know the difference between Reservatrol and the red wine complex? are they one in the same, just different branding? I was looking at it for heart health. Red wine complex was on the recommended vitamin list they gave to my dad. I looked at the label and they are pretty close, with a few differences. But I am so lost when it comes to vitamins, I dont know what you should take and what you shouldnt half the time.

Since my brand is sold on Netrition, I will go ahead and share...

http://www.netrition.com/garden_of_l...ol.htmlhttp://

It is pricey and I know that there are cheaper brands, but I have always had such good results from all Garden of Life products, I decided to give this one a try. Since I have free shipping on Amazon, I purchased from them for about $4 less per bottle.
