April Daily Chat Thread--How are you doing today?

This thread is a place to share whatever you want to share--weight stuff, daily stuff, random thoughts in your head, anything goes. That stuff you'd like to say, but really don't think it warrants a thread of it's own.

We've got 2 threads sort of like this, the Weight Management-How are You Doing?, and the Newbie's-How are You Doing? threads. I'm hoping we can bring everyone together here. So whatever you were posting in those, bring it here.

Ok, chat!

Great idea! I love reading up on everything and it would be nice to have the daily thoughts etc in one thread.

I'm ok today. Got a cold starting and am doing a DD today. Mood is not great. I've been taking aspirin and decongestants to help with the general aches and pains. Hopefully I'll feel better soon.

Tina - thanks for doing this! I think it is a great idea.

Sterlinggirl - travel is hard on me, too! My feet swell when I'm in the car too long. Hopefully being back from your trip everything will normalize. I would have gained a ton of weight! You did great!

Still working off my Sunday UD weight gain. I shall trudge along.

Have a great day!

Great thread idea!

I am hanging in at 118! Good DD yesterday - it was easy as I am trying to get my 40 hours of work in by the end of the day Wed. I have a lot to do to prepare for the weekend with two bday parties, and Easter. Wanted to add: Due to all the weekend activities I will be having my first MD on Sat. The party is at 5 so I am guessing I can not eat much all day and then have some food at the party. I can avoid the cake - its not that big of deal to me and I can have cake or dessert on Sun.

UD today and I have to remember to STOP WORKING and EAT!

Back to work!

Great idea, Tina!

So glad to see your lovely face back here on the JUDDD forum, Kimberly! Missed you. And you're barely up a whisper after that vacation! Nothing to worry about, you're back on track now!

Sorry you're getting sick, Mimosa. I had the bad cold back in February. There sure is a lot of stuff going around. Take care, and hope you feel better soon!

Great Idea - thank you for starting thread for April.

Today I am down a bit (teeny tiny bit) from my DD yesterday. Thought I was doing really well until I remembered I forgot to log in breakfast drink . But I still was ok and I was lower than last DD. Now to get them where they should be according to the calculator. I can do it.

Still trying to get back on exercise routine. Like doing in morning before work best as then it is done for day and things always come up during the day. But I have a plan. Even thinking taking exercise clothes and shoes with to Minneapolis this weekend. See the hotel has two treadmills, so no excuse. Thinking if weather nice too we will go to zoo so there will be some walking

I have been dealing with mouth ulcers and some other issues with stomach, doctor is checking for celiac and lupus. I am trying to stay away from gluten just to see on my own if it helps. It is not easy I can say that for sure. I have read where it will take at least 2 months to see a difference if you have a intolerance.

Here's to a glorious UD on JUDDD.

Hello everyone

Today is a DD for me, I decided to eat breakfast today and had a lot of protein in it. It has helped but I think fasting until dinner is more my thing. I was going to go for a run today but not confident enough yet. So I mowed the lawn for an hour and it still isn't done!! I have strained a muscle in my back so hubby can finish it. Well I better go do something to take my mind off food, I get very weird about things on my DD!

Love the idea of putting so many single threads into one! Thanks

Oh I LOVE the food video, Babykinz. I feel that way too. Today is an up day. woo hoo!

I was thinking about a low carb grilled cheese sandwich yesterday on my DD and it is as good as I thought it would be.

I had a NSV this AM. I go in for a shot every two weeks and they always take my bp. Today, my bp was 119/76!! I am so happy to see it go down.

I've done about 37 down days now, but yesterday was a tough one. Some are such a breeze and others not so much. It's just the body doing its thing I guess.

Anyway, I am going to enjoy today!

Happy girl today, feeling in control of my eating, reading Brain over Binge by Kathryn Hansen as suggested by Hazel on this forum.

Managed to get through a Body Attack class despite it being a DD, woohoo!

2nd DD-- surprise at lunch!

WTG Bev!

Today's my 2nd DD and I had a total surprise!

DH took my car in, and since the dealer is near his work (and mine, if I ever went to the office...) he said come meet me for lunch.

I was like, um, it's a DD but maybe I can find somewhere with a totally naked salad.

BTW-- i sort of hate salads. My mother blames herself-- says she fed me cooked veggies as a baby, b/c she thought most kids hate those, so she wanted to avoid that. She figured "everyone eats salads" and didn't spend as much time on those. WTG Mom

So we go to this chain here called Kelsey's (like appleby's meets chili's, I guess)-- and they have a section of the menu with healthier choices and CALORIE COUNTS!!!

so there's a Roasted Mushroom Salad, that has:
roasted button mushrooms
slivers of artichoke hearts
bit of grated feta cheese
baby spinach
mixed greens
pesto
10 calorie dressing

So the whole thing comes to 190 (incl the dressing). WOO HOO! I ordered that, and it was really good (hadn't eaten yet today).
Also had a club soda with lemon and lime, and I add 1 splenda packet.

Get this-- I COULDN"T EAT THE WHOLE SALAD!?!?

I brought home about a 1/3rd of it.

And since ********* on my BB tracks chain restaurants, I can easily count this in my day.

I'm freaking out-- I can't believe they had this thing that works for me (I picked off the croutons, so I'm sure the posted 22g of carbs is way off), and I can't believe I couldn't finish it.

The rest of my day should be easy-- I'll have the rest of the salad as a snack, and since I saved some calories based on what I was *going* to eat, I can add some mayo to my tuna dinner salad, and also have a big glass of almond milk for dessert/pre-bed.

I'm amazed! what a great day!

Soren

You have this WOL nailed already!! woo hoo. That salad sounds really good to me and I might create one at home. The mix of pesto, artichoke hearts, and mushrooms and feta cheese sound yummy.
I LOVE that we can go out to eat on this plan, even on down days.

Love your post babykinz! That sums up the UD for me too! My DH has been calling my DD's "UD food planning day" . I think am beginning to understand how I ended up with a weight problem in the first place. So happy that I found JUDDD.

I'll join you in needing a hug, Beeb. I WILL whine a bit, though. I was on a business trip for 5 days which did NOT go as planned. UDs all around. When I came back, I had a gf in town for four days. UDs all around again. Then last Sunday, I had to hospitalize then euthanize one of my cats--my baby. Let's just say that my "diet" the last few days has consisted of carbs, sugar, alcohol and prescription drugs. I feel puffy, icky, and just all around awful. Today, I am back to a normal DD and hopefully will shed some of this horrible water weight. So no carbs, sugar or alcohol today for me. I guessing that the prescription meds will continue as I keep getting gobsmacked with memories. I'm not planning to get on the scale until Saturday or Sunday morning, whatever works with the day after a DD. Hope everyone is having a better day...

Ah Soren, salads, massive full-of-different-tastes-and-textures salads, filling satisfying healthy salads may just become one of your favorite foods.

Sterlinggirl--welcome home. I'm one that undereats if I don't count too. Natural hunger gets me about 1100 calories, so I have to count to make sure I get enough. Just jump back in and you'll be on your way down again in no time.

Mimosa--hope you feel better soon.

LOL Babykins! (me too)

Carla--ouch on the mouth ulcers. My FIL was a celiac, and he did have a lot of those prior to diagnosis. I used to get them a lot, but they went away almost completely when we switched to a toothpaste with tea tree oil in it. Not sure if I can mention the brand or not here. Have a fun weekend!

Majella--rest your back! That sounds ouchie.

SG--woohoo on the lowered bp!

Soren--that is wonderful! Glad you ate so well.

Beeb-- And you so do not suck!

Shelby-- Sorry about your kitty. Praying for your heart to heal. A few good dd's will take care of the excess from the past week or so.

Had a busy day today. Had to go to the lab and have some blood drawn, then take dd14 to the orthodontist, then she, dd5 and I had some lunch out. Then an eye appt for me to check up on how the new contacts are doing (distance was still blurry, so she changed the lens for that and it is MUCH better). After that, wal-mart, payless, and finally home. We live in a tiny town, so when we have a chance to get to the "bigger town", we tend to cram a lot in.

Now I'm tired. Ya think?

Woke up to a new low this am! Very happy to see that.
