Hi Everyone,
I feel like I can join this thread bc it's more general and less weight loss specific. I love this forum and especially the JUDDD section. But I'm not tracking, planning or anything. I keep thinking I'm off plan bc that's how it feels. But if I'm honest, I've just upped my DDs to about 800-900 instead of 500. BUT...I aim for 500, just can't seem to swing it so I let myself eat more. Actually I am feeling MUCH better eating more. I've starting exercising so I can't say it's just the calories ![]() I have rough work issues. Things are crazy busy. I've upped my commitment and am working my butt off. But the last two times I've tried to get a transfer, I have been told it isn't a fit. Yet, I see slackers and incompetent ppl getting promotions, transfers, etc. It's really quite ridiculous. I am going to apply for every and any job that becomes available. I have a feeling the longer I stay there, the harder it will be to move... Dee

Just getting a chance to read this thread today. Wish I could respond to everyone individually but...will gladly give
where needed, for the successes, and a friendly to everyone!!!This was a very stressful day dodging tornados here in the Dallas area! Several were quite close to where I live. Feeling for the ones "hit" today and thankful for no loss of life that we know of. Looking forward to a nice (hopefully quiet) UD tomorrow. Just heard there were 15 tornados in the area today!! Welcome back anyone that was gone, feel better to anyone hurting, and look forward to good news all around tomorrow! ![]() ![]() to all my wonderful BUDDS!Phyl ![]() |

You are mistaken, Beeb, you do not suck. You should feel GOOD that you are as self-aware as you are and realized something has changed and are now initiating steps to correct what might've become a big deal. So YAY for YOU! Quote:
So sorry to hear about your sweet kitty. Quote:
on the new low! I have had a couple of days where I found myself saying, "I have 700 calories left to eat and I'm not hungry and not munchy. What to do!!" I figured it out, but I'm tellin' ya', it was one of THE oddest experiences for me (and not as easy as I might've thought)! We used to live out in the sticks and I remember those try and cram everything into one day trips to town. By the time we'd get back home I was exhausted. Glad to hear the switch in lenses made a good difference for you. Quote:
![]() ![]() ![]() So, SO happy for you!! YAY!!Quote:
, I thought about you today when I heard about all of the tornadoes up your way. Saw some of the video footage and WOW. Scary stuff!! Today was a DD and I was out working in the backyard and garden again. Everything is doing very well in the garden, we have at least 15 tomatoes on one patio plant and they're getting bigger every day, the two cherry tomatoes are putting on flowers and each has a handful of little 'maters... both the yellow squash and zucchini have gotten HUGE, both have TONS of flowers and the yellow one already has a couple forming. The eight tomato plants in the garden are putting out flowers like gangbusters and the bell and jalapeno peppers are fixin' to blossom and the okra and cucumbers are doing well, also. It's bustin' out all over! ![]() Inbetween the garden and the landscaping I've been doing I've been spending a lot of time outside and I'm pretty active for the better part of the day. I have arthritis in one of my hips and I was a bit concerned when we moved here, thinking all of the stuff I wanted to do in the yard would really make my hip worse, but it hasn't, and for that I am so thankful. It's been a long time since I've had the "blank canvas" this yard is to plan and plant and 'paint' to my heart's delight and I'm loving every minute of it. |

Morning everyone!
I apologise in advance for not posting to you all individually, but today is hectic! My cold has moved from starting out to full blown excorcist style misery! (O, how I love to wallow in self pity, LOL ) I'm taking aspirin, decongestant, vit D3 and eating myself silly with high nutrition food. Hopefully that will kill this bug soon! ![]() To top it off, I pulled a muscle in my lower back by doing.... nothing! GRRRRRR! I was thinking of calling in sick to work, but the only way I'm comfortable is by sitting, so I'm here, at my desk in the office.... ![]() It's an UD for me today, and I dropped another lb! Will post my stats after Easter. So far JUDDD is working fine! My planned menu for today is: B: Quark with walnuts and honey and bee pollen L: a big salad with tuna, olive oil, feta, houmous and just lots of nice veggies. D: Roasted chicken legs, with some mayo and a couple of glasses of wine. I may have some chocolate, to up my cals! Well, that's it, I'm going back to working and wallowing mode ![]() Have a good day everyone! xxx

Oh Mimosa I feel for you - I had a bug three times between November and March! The last time I got raw honey and it worked wonders. I was feeling better in a few days! Congrats on dropping another pound!
I was down to 117.8 after a good UD! DD today will be easy - I have about 6 hours of work to get my 40 hours in for the week ![]() so I will focus on that and will not even worry about food! Then I can enjoy tomorrow and Friday and get ready for parties and Easter over the weekend.Have a great day everyone!

Phyl,
So thankful you are okay! My DD lives in Ft. Worth and I spent all afternoon checking the WeatherChannel. I hate this season and really can't wait for April and May to be history. Well, dear JUDDD Budds, today I woke up to a new low and lost 2.2 overnight!!! It was so exciting to see the scale, that I am reluctant to eat an UD today for fear of squandering my awesome loss! It has taken me 3 weeks to lose 5 lbs all due to adding in 3 MD to save my rotations. Yesterday was the toughest DD I have had yet! I was miserably hungry and I think it was because I forgot to have my 3 oz of protein for breakfast! ![]() I will keep the rotation, instead, because I am thrilled to be losing once more!

Woke up to a foggy gray day here. Yawn. DD for me, so just coffee so far. Need to get some stuff done around the house today after yesterday being gone all day.
Phyl--glad you are ok. Tornadoes are so scary! Sunday--yay for you! KUTGW. Dee--good to see you. I hope you can find a better position soon. Mimosa--ugh. Feel better quickly! Sheridan--your yard/garden sounds like it's doing wonderful! Dh just put some garden out yesterday. I used to do it, but got away from it when I was pg with my now 5yo, and never got back to it again. I need to, and have some landscaping that needs doing too. I just can't seem to work it in.

Its Wednesday!
I have friday off so this is good day. I had UD yesterday and got in exercise both last night and this morning. I am back on track. Not going to let weekend in Minneapolis deter me (keep chanting that in my head). I am down .6 from UD yesterday.DD today and first one I am going to try to keep to my caloric intake according to calculator of 405. Great job to all that have lost and to all that are under the weather. I changed toothpaste and also am on pcn for mouth ulcers. Just found out my doctor is gone for two weeks so I know I won't hear results of lupus or celiac tests for at least that long. For now I am staying away from all gluten. At least all that I know of. Good morning, JUDDDD Buds! Here's my fun fact for today:
As of this morning, after exactly 45 down days, I am down exactly 15 pounds. So, I am averaging 1/3 of a pound each down day. Yay! Now I gotta go finish getting ready for work. |

I sympathise on the difficulties of avoiding gluten Carla, my BIL has to avoid it and it lurks everywhere.

Thanks Cindy, I am not sure if that is the culprit or not, but it is worth a try. It does lurk everywhere.. who knew soy sauce has gluten in it

So sorry for all the illness and pain, Mimosa! I suffered with that terrible cold back in Feb and it took me about a week from the time it started to begin feeling human again. I've officially been doing JUDDD for 2 weeks, and I've seen the scale do some bouncing but I'm going to stick with it! Today especially has been interesting - it's a DD (yesterday was a little out of control and I'm sure I went over my UD numbers, but only up 1 lb this morning) and I'm noticing that the hunger I'm having actually feels good?
Has anyone else experienced this? I've already gotten a sense of how JUDDD can help us distinguish between "head hunger" and true hunger, but the idea of hunger feeling good is just...odd. I plan on just drinking water for now, and fasting until later this afternoon since that seems to work best for me on DDs, maybe the feel-good hunger is a benefit of combining IF with JUDDD? Thanks for starting this threat, great idea! Hope everyone has a great day. ![]() |

Hi To everyone
I'm jealous of Sheridan's garden! Quote:
re: head hunger vs real hunger. On LC, I would just give in, though I tried not to eat late at night. Now, I'm really working to distinguish the two. Also, Dr J's book says that the hunger pangs can come every 3hrs or so, in 20 minute waves. So if I can get through it, it'll go away And I know that if I plan my meals, which thus far I have been, then I'm not doing anything "wrong" or "damaging", so a bit of hunger in between won't kill me. I'm working on a new affirmation: I can tolerate some mild discomfort. I think that's a big thing for me that I need to heal, and maybe this will do it-- that using food as a drug (happy? eat to calm down. Sad? eat to cheer up. Excited and celebrating? eat for that too...), always trying to get to a sort of "normal" state that might not exist, and trying to avoid discomfort. JUDDD is forcing me to confront discomfort head-on. So far, I'm winning! ![]()

Hi All the.... it seems that you are coming along nicely with JUDDD. I know just what you mean about the feel good hunger, although some days are just hunger, lol.
Today I am having a bit of a hungry day myself, I have had a cracker and some laughing cow, an egg and some warmed skimmed milk and a little biscuit, and a savoury drink. But I am looking forward to fishcake and lots of veggies tonight, so I can manage. |
