Mmmm, mine are huge and 5 calories a piece, so much flavor. My husband complains that I make the whole office smell like dill and vinegar I went through a whole jar this week! At least I won't have any potassium issues.

I've been thinking about trying a day of scrambled eggs and light bacon x 2 or 3. I believe I'll try it on tomorrow's DD!

I use salt- in the cooking water AND the chilling water:

Quote:
→ Perfectly cooked
→ Easy to peel
→ No green ring around yolks

Bring large saucepan of water to a boil. Add 1 teaspoon salt.

Lower room-temperature eggs into boiling water, using a slotted spoon.
Don't cover the pan- just watch (and adjust heat, if necessary) to make sure water doesn't boil out of pan.
Start timing 14 minutes (don't wait for water to return to boil).

At 14 minutes, remove from heat, and lower eggs, one at a time, into ice water bath (more ice than water, and another teaspoon of salt). Again, use the slotted spoon.

Let stand until chilled, then drain and store in refrigerator.

Egg day went easy yesterday. Filling and refreshing because it was hot outside and the eggs were hard boiled and cold. I ended up eating 1 for a late breakfast and then 2 each at lunch and dinner. Energy was good all day.

I'm not a calorie counter so knowing 5 eggs hits my calorie level for down days takes the work out of it for me. I won't do them every DD but it is a handy no fuss option.

I just did mine today, boiled 7 large eggs in a small pot, used about a heaping teaspoon of baking soda.

I peeled one to test it, came off pretty easily!

I love that we don't have to restrict to certain foods on JUDDD, but sometimes the concept of eating *anything* is a bit scary!
I'll be trying that baking soda trick. I need easy peel.

I'm very careful of bacon on down days. 1 oz or 24 grams is 151 calories. So I eat bacon on up days.

I frequently do all-egg DDs because 1) I like the amount of protein/calorie ratio, 2) I am lazy, 3) if I'm really hungry, it's easy and quick to grab a hard-boiled egg, and 4) I LOVE eggs. The other thing is, what I love about DDs, is that I feel free of thinking about food--when the next meal time is, what I'm going to have, etc. JUDDD is taking me a long way down the road away from food obsession.

Anyone do this?
well high protein is satisfying. i do 50 g protein every day. more on UD. that is about 8 oz of white meat chicken breast for about 240 cals. or 8 oz fish/shrimp for about 200 cals. havent done eggs because it is very few g protein for the cals you have to spend. using chicken/fish stil leaves some protein cals for later in the day and some veggies.
