Question about calories
Hi All! I am new here and I have a quick question.
When I went to the JUDDD website and checked my calorie counter, it gave me numbers of 2212 and 664. Should I try to stay below these numbers or should I always try to hit them?? Thanks! |

hit the up, stay below the down
You don't want to train your body to live on less calories on your up day, and the spread is what is important in Intermittent Fasting. You need the low low or nothing days in contrast to normal up days |

Those numbers seem high to me. I started at 180 and the calculator told me 350/1750. The book also says to just start at 500 for the first two weeks and then go down to what the calculator said.
664/2212 Did you use little or no exercise and remember to change to lbs instead of kg and height in in ? Most here do not factor in exercise unless they are doing super duper strenouous exercise. |

I think the problem is that I put minimal exercise. I am going to go back and check it with no exercise.

Depends. Those %'s are the percent of UD calories which make the DD number. I use the 20% but you can use 25%, 30% whatever you choose. The DD number will change but the UD number will stay the same. The higher % the slower the loss if any since you could end up with what your body considers maintenance calories. Everyone is different but the 2 week induction period should be no higher than 500 calories according to Dr. J in his book.
