Accountability update...

Hi everyone! I'm thinking of adding a journal for myself, but have to find the time first... Am already spending way too long reading and posting here, LOL!

Just to stay accountable here's what happened on the weekend:

On Friday I had a DD, which was my first and went fine.

On Saturday I had an UD, which I found nice, had normal breakfast and lunch, nothing excessive (full fat Quark for breakfast, a salad with cheese and chicken for lunch) and then for dinner I had Indonesian Rijsttafel, which is my big favourite! I did notice I didn't eat untill completely full, I was quite happy with stopping before I got there, and felt happy and not at all like I missed out! There was dessert too, icecream with berries, but I just had some berries and left the rest. Was just not in the mood for icecream! How weird is that????

I had every intention of staying as LC as possible on my UD, but the freedom of eating what you want is great! This way I don't feel guilty when something non LC passes my lips! I still try to make good choices, but when I do eat some chocolate it does not completely get me down in the dumps about it!

My DD's I figured out that a more high protein, LC diet is more satisfying, so they are pretty LC, and make me feel nice and satisfied. I guess after two DD I can't say for definite, but I'm happy with it for now. I like keeping things simple, and don't want to have to think too much in between all the weighing and calculating, so I buy convenient cans of fish, sliced meats from the deli counter already weighed out to the right amount and cut up and package my veggies to the right portions. This way I know I can just grab and go, and mix and match, which is good especially when I'm at work! I have to think enough as it is about other things, so food will just make me more obsessed when I have to calculate then and there everytime I want to eat something. For me, preparation is key!

My menu yesterday DD:

B: nothing but water and black coffee
L: fat free quark, tuna in water, spinach leaves and basil, with a bit of pepper for extra kick
D: salmon in water, cucumber and again some fat free quark.
My calories were 498 total.

My menu today UD:

B: not sure, probably full fat quark with chopped walnuts and bee pollen (allergies) and maybe stevia or real honey....
L: a nice salad of some sort with either chicken or tuna and a bit of feta cheese and a nice vinaigrette
D: stuffed red peppers... YUM! We stuff them with ground beef, onions, a bit of garlic, pine nuts, parsley and some grated parmesan on top... I love it! And not too bad, even on an UD! I may be extra indulgent and have a small easter egg or two...
My calories: no idea, I'm not counting them on my UD for now, but I don't expect them to be over 2421, which is my max.

I haven't weighed myself yet, maybe I should after every DD, but I get obsessive with the scales, so I'm trying to do once or twice a week weigh-ins...

So far I feel good, a bit of hunger on my DD but nothing awful. I guess I can live with that!

I may try and get my mum over to the 'dark side' but I guess I'll have to be an example and amaze her with results before she'll be convinced. One day at a time.... At least she didn't look at me like I was crazy when I told her about it!

BF is really sweet and bought lots of DD foods on Saturday (I was away for the weekend) so I am not going to be stuck! He's already thinking in UD and DD! He told me that he wanted to prepare the stuffed peppers yesteday, but then realised it was a DD, so he's making them tonight instead, LOL!

I could go on and on, but I need to start my work here in the office, so I'll leave it for now! .... Maybe I'll sneak back later to read some more, it is compelling stuff!

Have a great day everyone! And again thanks for all the nice welcomes, support and motivation, you are a great bunch of people here!

A small amendment:

I just realised: I wrote down what I planned to eat lunchtime Saturday on my UD, but I didn't have it in the end, as I was at my parents house... I stupidly copied what I had written down here!

So, for lunch on Saturday I had wheat free pumpkinseed crackers with butter, cheese and grilled tomatoes. YUM! And a cup of homemade quail broth, which was absolutely delicious.

Hey, mimosa, that's one thing for sure: going to JUDDD can sure tell you a lot about the people in your life, no?

I mentioned what I was doing to my DH a few weeks ago, and then pretty soon he was asking me whether I was on an UD or a DD, and altered our various eatings-out accordingly, and then just a week ago he decided to join me in JUDDD! Due to his schedule at work, he prefers M-W-F to be DD always, so we aren't always on the same rotation, but we make it work!

Congrats! Looks like you are doing well!

You are planning your meals and living the plan (yes 'living' includes making careful, controlled changes now and again). You are not letting your scale control your life. You are ROCKING!!!!

PS: I love your avi

I did weigh myself today though...

So far, I've gone from 190.3 to 186.1 without any huge effort! This is very motivating!

Nancy, I love Joan Miro, his paintings always remind my of how my brain is: chaotic!

Well, I'm on my 3rd DD today.. And with it I have a starting cold! Yuk!

My head aches and my throat is sore, and my eyes are watering. Hopefully it will break out properly soon, so I can go on and get better!

My DD today will look pretty much like the first two:

B: Quark
L: tuna and salad
D: salmon or eggs and veggies.

I end up having about 492 cals.
I'm trying not to overthink everything and just enjoy a good day today.

Yesterday my UD was great, I even had a couple of beers and three small chocolates! And no guilt! What else can I want from a WOE where I lose weight and get to eat what I want?

JUDDD where were you all my fat life? I'm glad I have found this and that I'm living it now! Can't wait for my food prison free future forever!!!!!

Hi mimosa - you are doing so well with juddd!

Too bad you're getting a cold, though. Hope you'll soon be feeling better.

Hi Nancy, Barbara and Jan!

I'm doing a lot of visualisation as well and have taken out my favourite smallest clothes and hung them on my wardrobe as an extra motivator. I see them every morning when I get up, and every night when I go to sleep to keep me going! Deep down I know that this time I won't just wear them once and feel uncomfortable! I will be able to wear these clothes and look great in them once I reach my goal!

I told my mum about my new diet, who immediately told me she had read that fasting was healthy! Never expected that!
Here in Germany insurance pays for visits to dieticians and food specialists, also for prevention, and she recommended intermittent fasting as well... Seems to be catching on here in Germany too!

Today I had a really nice salad with some tuna and a little houmous and I feel satisfied. And that on a DD!!! This evening I think I will just have some salmon, but I'll let my hunger decide! It's great to feel so free!

Sorry to hear you're not feeling well and hope you're better soon! You're on a roll - a real roll! I love your idea of taking out the smaller size clothes and putting them where you can see them to motivate you and I'm going to do the same thing!

Hi Sheridan!

You're doing so well too!!! Isn't this JUDDD just the best???

I'm down again in weight but will post my stats after easter, got to do one more DD to make it day 8 when I oficially weigh myself. And then I'll be away from a computer till Tuesday next week, so I'm only posting here today and tomorrow and then it's off for a nice long Easter weekend with friends in Holland!

Going sightseeing with BF, showing him the city where I grew up, and we have a birthday party and an Easter brunch party. All in all it's going to be a lovely Easter. Now just hoping for the weather to co-operate just a bit....

My cold is now fully blown lurgy and I feel very sorry for myself! I can't work when my nose is blocked, so these next couple of days at the office I have to fake it till I make it!!! Very annoying.

I've been feeding myself highly nutritious foods, and taking aspirin, decongestant and vit D3 in the hope that this will make the cold disappear sooner.

To top it all off, I pulled a muscle in my lower back yesterday evening. By doing... nothing! Very annoying. I had about 30 minutes at a time of unbroken sleep, and then I had to turn over again... I feel like a roast chicken! BF was also woken up, so he's not had enough sleep either!

I wanted to call in sick at work, but seeing as sitting is the only way to be pain free, I guess the best place to be is at work! How unfair! Walking there was painful, but thankfully I had done the Primary Back Stretch (T-Tapp) to alleviate the pain somewhat. I guess I'll be doing that throughout the day to help.
Of course, pain cream and ibuprofen may help too... LOL!

Yes, I'm wallowing!!!!!!!!!!!

For the rest, it's an UD today, so in that aspect I'm not complaining!!!

LOL! I feel liberated! I love eating LC, but to lose I have to eat VLC, and tweak, tweak tweak after about 2 weeks. It drives me insane, and it didn't help my moods!
Right now, I have energy, I feel happy, and I KNOW I can do this!

Cindy, I'm so glad I came back to LCF and found out about JUDDD!

BTW, come find me on MFF, I can't see you because your profile isn't complete...

Yes, JUDDD is THE best!!

Go ahead and wallow! Sometimes it's the only thing that makes us feel good.

My husband is dealing with a sore back right now, he doesn't know what he did to get all stove up, either. I imagine it might've been when he was holding the leaf bag as I was raking out the dense underbrush along our fence line and he twisted funny to dodge my incoming rake full of leaves and twigs. Fortunately (for him AND me), he does not also have a cold on top of it... I'm not sure I would survive if he did.

D3 really helps me shorten the time when I catch a cold, hope yours goes away soon.

Morning all!

Sheridan: I hope your DH's back is feeling better!

Mine is ok, a bit stiff, but I did T-Tapp Primary Back Stretch three times yesterday and the pain is gone! Did it again when I got up this morning, and I'm already feeling a bit looser... It's magic! Cannot believe silly moves and exercises like that really do good, but here I am, and it does! Recommend looking into it on their website, they have a free exercise to rehabilitate bad backs and it helps!

Cold is still there... D3 seems to help, I'm moving through the stages of the infection much quicker! Hopefully come Easter, it will be gone!

I had a great UD yesterday, and really enjoyed my food and wine and chocolate, LOL! I seem to be satisfied with less, so I guess that's a good thing!

And... I dropped another 0.2lbs, even though it was an UD!

Managed to close a pair of jeans I'd been wanting to wear for about a month! I'm wearing them now, and even sitting down isn't uncomfortable!

DD today, and I'm having my usual menu of Quark, fish and veggies today. Brings me around the 500 cals mark.

I feel so happy and positive, and I KNOW that I will reach my goal and be able to maintain! This is the first WOE I've been on that hasn't got me worrying about the what after I lose weight situation!

Looking forward to the long weekend. Things have slowed down at work! I've got my temporary assistant making fragranced candles for herself, she's got nothing to do! LOL!

Glad to hear your back is better! My husband was able to stretch his enough that he's 90% better today. I have had trouble with my back now and then and will look up the exercises online. I've heard a lot of good things about T-Tapp, so thanks for the recommendation.

Way to go on a lower weigh-in after an UP!
Glad you feel your cold is on the way OUT.

Sharing your joy in this woe! I'm loving it, too!

Well, I've been a bit MIA lately... Not because I've fallen off the JUDDD wagon, but just because I'm living my life.

So far, I'm feeling pretty good, and the weight is steadily coming off, so I'm happy! I'm due for another weigh in on Monday, so will update my stats then.

My cold is still here, now joined by it's best friend the dry cough.... Sleeping is becoming quite adventurous! Poor BF is being kept awake by my barking!

I'm on a DD today, and even though I haven't had it for the past three DD's, today I'm freezing again!!!!! I may need to go for a jog in my office, so I warm up, LOL! Heating is on pretty high, and without completely annoying my colleagues, I cannot really put it any higher... Maybe wearing a coat won't be so weird???

Just wanted to suggest you DO count on your UDs, at least for a little bit, to get the hang of REALLY how many calories you are eating. You may be surprised you are not eating enough or way over what you are estimating you are eating. JUDDD works because it's a calorie high and low days formula and to give it a fighting chance to work it's "magic" I always suggest we count, at least for a little while until we get the "hang" of it.

Thanks for the suggestion, Beeb!
I've actually been keeping track of my calories every day since that post, I found my instincts cannot be trusted, LOL!

Thought I'd pop back in here and keep track of myself!

The past weeks have been really great, I'm sticking to my rotation and feeling great!

There are no real problems so far with JUDDDing and I'm still happy to find myself feeling good and positive. I think I can really stick with this, it fits into my life without any problems!

The last week I've actually fasted right until dinnertime on DDs, I find this the easiest for me. I found that if I eat little throughout the day I get hungrier and I find myself becoming obsessed with my calories. Due to me being a control freak in other aspects of my life, this is not a thing that I want added to it! So, by fasting all day I have freedom to not worry about food at all, and eat something nice and quite substantive in the evening to break the fast, yet not go over my max 500 cals for the day.

I've found I like omelette with veggies and smoked turkey breast the most. And with 2 eggs and 4 ounces of turkey it is really filling.

I've also found that by fasting all day till dinner on DDs I feel less hungry, and my results are better in the weight and inchloss departments!

My DDs seem to be my highlights; I feel alert, active, positive and less tired than on my UDs.

Also on my UDs I tend to make healthier food choices, and I'm eating more berry fruits and veggies than I've previously done on LC. I still eat quite sensibly and stick to more LC foods generally, because they suit me better, but the occasional potato and spoonful of rice has passed my lips without any problems.

I'm being really good with my exercise too, which helps tremendously with my weight and inchloss. I've tried to walk each day for at least 40 minutes, sometimes this amounts to more than 2 hours on weekends, and I'm doing T-Tapp basic workout plus every day now. I'm doing a bootcamp for T-Tapp which will be for another 8 days, then I will move on to doing it every other day and building up to doing the Total Workout every other day.

I'm going on holiday on the 8th of June for two weeks, so maybe before then I'll try and do another 4 day T-Tapp bootcamp, doing the Total Workout. We'll see... First I've got to make moving my body on a daily basis a habit! So far, I'm managing quite well!

I've not weighed or measured myself lately, I think I'll do so this coming Monday so I'll know my physical visible results by then. On other things I've noticed:

My skin is glowing.
My eye problems are better managed. I've got chronic blepharitis caused by staphylococcus and so I have to make sure my eyelid is specially cleaned every morning and night and use eye compresses twice daily too. I thought I was getting another eyelid infection on the weekend, but due to DDs and my T-Tapping I think it went away by itself! This has never happened. I'm hoping that my body is helping itself now! Maybe I can avoid those accute infections, which would certainly be great to help me manage this disease!

For the rest nothing much, I don't think I've lost enough weight for other people to notice yet... Hopefully this will be soon, I need all the encouragement I can get, it helps with the motivation!

My highlight DD has just turned to a big pile of doo doo....

Really, some people! I'm having all sorts of work related annoyance anger and frustration right now! Glad I'm done in about 90 minutes!

BUT: glad that I've not veered of my eating schedule so far today! I am definitely in control of my emotional eating thanks to JUDDD!

This would have never happened and I'd probably have stuffed my face with nuts, cheese and other so called LC proof foods by now if I was still trying to stick with LC! Very happy to have found JUDDD!

Still mad though, LOL!
