I am a pinaholic and stumbled on this, so I thought I would share!

It helps me on DD to realize that my health is really the benefactor of this wonderful method of eathing! And if you can't tell, I am obsessed with JUDDD!

WOE: JUDDD!!!
There is a two-fold benefit about all of this for JUDDDers.

1. Weight loss, regardless of how you accomplish it, will give us the benefits. BUT...

2. Intermittent Fasting (if the fasting period is long enough to qualify) will also accomplish great health improvement, even if you eat enough calories during your non-fasting hours to keep from losing any weight at all!

So when you combine all of the health benefit just from the fasting approach with any weight loss that you accomplish, you are doubly blessed, so to speak.

I'm with you Phyl!

I am currently working on my sister - trying to bring her to the dark side . Not because she needs to lose weight, dang her she doesn't. But years of eating SAD have left her in degenerating health and I'd like to keep her around and active awhile longer.

I haven't had time yet to post about my dear mom, who has been IF'ing accidentally for 20 plus years. I went to be with her, she lives in another state 6 hours away, for my brother's funeral in January. I am amazed at how youthful she looks and she is 73! She has always eaten similar to "Fast 5" WOE. She eats once per day and 2 days per week she will eat twice but always in a 5 to 6 hour window. She said that she doesn't eat out except for on Sunday and special occasions and on these days she has anything her heart desires. She has perfect weight and is quite energetic for her age. Works in her yard daily. Takes evening walks.

She is in excellent health and looks amazing! I can only hope to be just like her when I reach that age!

This is just wonderful. I have always thought that one of the worst things that ever happened to us what the diet advice of eating 5 or 6 small meals a day *to keep our blood sugar stable*... because those meals are rarely as small as they need to be. LOL

And the whole concept of snacking.. snacks.. You're not You when you're Hungry (have a Snickers Bar), etc. Good lord, it's not just that we eat the wrong foods, we eat and eat and EAT!

So tickled to hear that your mother embraced the concept that enough was enough so many years ago. I expect it has stood her overall health and her entire future in good stead.

Thanks Pat! She was widowed at age 38 and left with 3 teenagers. Once we left the home, I believe that she decided to make her life as simple as she could and eating once per day worked for her.

Another note! She taught school for 50 years! And the amazing thing is the Principal has been begging her to come out of retirement and come back! She taught Calculus and Physics and I am guessing a shortage in that area for Sr. High. I kept asking her every year, "Mom, don't you think you should go ahead and retire?" She would reply, "As long as I feel good, I want to teach. It is keeping me young."
