Strange, but.. how many calories in dandelion flowers

I know these aren't eaten by a lot of folks, but I'm making a stir fry for myself for evening and want to throw in a big handful of the yellow flower tops from fresh blooming dandelions in our yard. Yeah.. I know.. strange.

But I can't find anything about the calories in just the flowers. The greens are commonly used, and maybe I'll add some of the leaves to salad, but tonight I'm just using blossoms.

Thanks for any help or suggestions.

Another super great article and it has calories listed, but seems to lump the flower in with the greens.

I started taking Dandelion root capsules recently because a friend was telling me about all the wonderful benefits. Now I'm interested in the whole plant!

Thanks, Pat!!!

Sorry I can't help, Pat, but I would say NO calories in flowers -- because they are the magical parasol of the Whoosh Fairy!

Well, the best I could find was one site that just said for the whole thing (greens and flower) it's 25 calories per cup. There sure are lots of great articles on how nutritious they are!

I walked all the lawn around the house and found about 30 blossoms. Threw them into my stir fry, and they're in my tummy now.

It is way cool that the quakers spread dandelions as free food.

I add the greens to salads and soups. I've never tried the roots as I just like real coffee. And I don't like the wine either, although they make a lot of it at the Amana Colonies wine shops.

Never had the wine!

There is a resturant we go to sometimes that put the greens in thier salads. My kids hate it, but I love it.

I watched a show the one day cant remember what it was it was on TLC. But this lady hated spending money and she would take her kids and go around yards collecting for salads for dinner. She would take other leaves too, but I dont remember if they were clovers or not. I kinda wanted to try the clovers in a salad, but I might not lol!!!
