When I don't take it at all, I have to go to the bathroom every 45-60 minutes, my hands and feet swell & itch, and I get random aches & pains in my body--especially my arms. Even on a low dose of 750, these things go away and I only have to pee once every 3 to 5 hours!!! Maybe that's normal for most people (gee, I hope so!) but after going every hour for years, seeing how long I can hold it is still super-cool for me every day!

I hadn't been testing my BG every day recently, so even though I did a few experiments this week, I am going to stop and just take my FBG for about a week. Then try the wine for one week. Then try the Fat Bombs for a week. Then try both together. So it will be a while before I have more results for y'all.

So far, though, this is what happened:
after nothing special, random days in June: 110, 103, 113, 110, 101
after wine + FB: 95
after FB only: 114
after wine (and cheese*): 108
after cocoa crack*: 119
(*not meant to be part of the experiment, just got hungry late at night!)

--------------
The carb blocker I take is a tiny pill. I used one called Terry Naturally Dieter's Choice for Carb Control, but I've found a generic version that is cheaper (same product, developed by Terry Lemerond). If you're interested, you can find the generic by Googling C-120x carb blocker.

From the research I've read on it, I do think it might be a superior product to most carb-blockers. Terry founded Enzymatic Therapies, and I find them to be a very effective, high-quality line. One of their products cured me of huge, painful bone spurs on my wrists!!! So I trust them more than other supplement lines.
Wow that's so interesting that we are both doing the same experiment with Metformin and at the same dosages! So far so good for me. I haven't noticed anything different or bad, but then again I'm not checking my BG, however - I'm mostly eating on the lower carb spectrum anyway, and when I do have carbs I take the Carb Intercept. Thanks for the rec on ET brand, that's something to keep in mind for a future buy.

I had Met side effects pretty much only when I first started it. It's great that the low dose works for you - you may have found your "sweet spot" with it since you don't have to run to the BR every hour (wow, what a pain that would be!) and not having the literal pains in your body. I never found that Met made me hungrier - in fact it used to have more of an appetite suppressing effect. It got to the point where I barely ate at all which was a bad thing. Anyway, in later years my body seems to have adjusted to it nicely, but I just wanted to try to reduce my dosage to see if it would help prevent deficiencies.

Your experiment is interesting and we'll look forward to the results.

I tried oil-pulling a few years back and found it BORING!
And difficult to do at the right time of day or whatever.
Also, concerned about what all that oil might do to the plumbing/septic system?

Anyway, I decided to OP in the shower today, since I had to wash my hair & that takes a while!

And I did the baking soda "shampoo" thing!

And I just had some coconut-oil cocoa crack!

And some DE, because I forgot to take it last night.

As well as turmeric & chlorophyll.

If y'all don't hear from me again, it's because I either
(a) conquered all my inflammation and shrank away to nothing, or
(b) exploded from an unforeseen chemical reaction.

Just remember, I loved you aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaallllllllllllll!!!!

I'm convinced. I'm going to use July as an experiment month with the CO. I already took my jar to work, so I bought another jar for home this morning. I'll be taking 2 T on DDs and 3 T on UDs and won't count it (if this sounds like a fair plan). If I need it for cooking, I'll use CO too. I intend to do it for the whole month and compare to June's losses. However; if I start gaining, I will be beating a hasty retreat!

I had an UUA weekend and started the week 4 pounds over goal. By Wed, I had lost those 4 pounds, and this morning, I woke up down an extra one. So it isn't having any negative effects on me at all, and may even be boosting things along.

You are supposed to spit your oil out into the garbage!!! NOT the sink. I have a paper cup in the bathroom for the rinsing you do after brushing your teeth, and spit in that. I keep that going til it gets filled up, then throw it away. I have accidentally spit out in the sink just a few times, but I really do NOT want to do that.

Exactly right, Dawn! A fat plug in your main line is i big deal and no one should be pouring fat down the drain unless they have plenty of money to blow on heavy equipment and plumbers....or maybe you just want to have some hunky men visit for a few days.

The plumber I use is lacking on the hunky side but he has warned me about the fat problems down the drain.

Ok, thanks!
I never saw any instructions about where to spit the oil.
We have lots of bears, raccoon, possums, neighborhood dogs AND SKUNKS!!! that get into the garbage;
idk if spitting oil directly into the garbage would be a good idea.
I spat it outside on my compost pile a few times, or used an empty vitamin bottle.
(PS--I don't use the compost pile anymore, because that attracts animals too )

Hey Jenny, I spit into the paper cup that I use in the bathroom and then dispose in the trash. Our trash is picked up once per week and we have raccoons and coyotes, but have never had issue with the trash being bothered. If we had bears, then I would worry about this.

I spit mine into a snack sized ziplock bag. I zip it up and toss in the trash.

Hey MM, you speak a great truth - cystic acne is NO FUN! I am doing my darndest to conquer it and having some success but my hormones keep rampaging through and laying waste to all my hard work. I'm still experimenting with diet to try to get it under control. I feel like PJ, in that if I eat anymore healthy than I already am, I'm either going to implode or explode!

But if I manage to get this hormonal beast under control I will be on the forum in a light-second to share how I did it.

I hope you all hang around when you are at goal and provide the rest of us with thought-provoking stimulation! I am attached to everyone, and when people disappear, it is TERRIBLY DISTURBING!! I have a long long way to go until goal, so I will be around at least until the world ends in December 2012.

Sophie--

I think my acne is mostly hormonal too. I hope you and I can both find ways to prevent further breaking out -- it is a real drag to want to live with a bag over one's head for weeks on end

I have found a couple of things that helped *a lot* with this last break out, so I thought I'd share --

Dr. Bronner's castile soap for face washing and then sea salt in warm water as a facial rinse -- I put extra on the sores. and it seemed to help heal them up faster.

A therapeutic sulfur mask made by Acne Free -- I got it at the drugstore -- that stuff helped immensely and very quickly, too! It is a new product for me, but I think it is a keeper for regular maintenance.

Aveeno calamine lotion on the weepy patches -- I think the colloidal oatmeal plus the zinc is the key here, so I'm not sure that regular calamine lotion would be as effective. It stopped the weeping, but didn't over-dry the skin, and I found it very anti-inflammatory.

My skin is finally almost clear -- I still have red patches where the worst of the break out happened, but they are fading. I also still have a couple of small pimples threatening to emerge, but these are 'run of the mill' pimples, not deep cysts.

I dearly hope that, now that the storm has passed, I stay clear for a while!

Hope it works great for you too, Dawn! Apparently, vco won't be stored as fat but instead revs up the metabolism and actually burns fat. I found that I was able to use it without counting the calories and it felt very freeing to be able to use an oil for free. Hope your July experiment goes great.

Will I even be able to notice improvements by drinking dirt every morning? I have read a lot but after three weeks of dirt drinking I don't feel any different and don't notice anything different. or does it take several months? I have managed to get the DE down in two swallows followed by a glass of nice cold salty water so drinking it has become a habit every morning. I am not quitting it, just wondering.

I can only speak for me, but it took awhile for me to see anything. My "elimination system" changed and improved in about 3 weeks. My hair and nails improved in about a month. I think people have seen deworming on themselves right away and some have reported lower cholesterol in as little as two weeks. I don't get mine tested very often, so I don't know the impact on that for me. Curious to see what others say on this!

Dd keeps forgetting to bring some in from the barn for me. I'm anxious to try it though. I will say I have noted a difference since I've upped my CO and am having it regularly. I am never cold anymore (but that may change when winter comes again LOL). And I actually *sweat*.....something I never did unless I was working out in the hot sun or some such thing. That actually feels good when I'm working out.....always thought I wasn't working hard enough before because I would rarely break a sweat. LOL

And also....sometimes I think it makes me feel full sooner than had I not eaten it. And it seems to be helping with my sugar cravings. Except for yesterday when I really needed help.....there was just too much deliciousness around. LOL

PJ, I am wanting to discuss more about DE! Haven't started yet, I am just worried about trying too many things at the same time. However, I have a phobia that I am going to just lay out here and maybe you can give me some ideas. Or anyone else who knows???

I am afraid of hotels. I don't know when this happened, but I have a suspicion that it may be linked to a trip to Vegas. I do travel a lot and actually have enjoyed some of the 3 star hotels just as well as the 5 star. I have found out that I am not alone and that some folks have much higher anxiety than I have. Believe me, I have yet to let my fear stop me from vacation!

My main fear is bedbugs. I have never had them. I know of friends that actually contracted them at a very nice hotel. After hearing their story and of course, watching a Nightline special about the epidemic (evidentally they are sort of resisting extermination), I am very phobic of this happening to me.

I have read that most people bring bedbugs home with their luggage, which makes sense because even if you don't lay your luggage on the bed, any clothing that you slept in will be placed back in your luggage. Have also heard that you should leave your luggage outside on your patio or porch after any trip and let the sun bake the contents. That 120 degree heat will exterminate the bugs. However, since reading about DE, I read that this is another use of DE. Do you have any experience with this or know if it in fact a good use of DE?

I know it sounds silly to be anxious, but I will sleep better knowing I have a plan.

Yes, DE works on ALL little critters with an exoskeleton!
Even "good" ones, like ladybugs and honeybees, so if using in the garden, be careful where you put it.
Earthworms, for example, are not harmed by DE.

I neighbor of mine was talking about how much an exterminator had told her it would cost to deal with bedbugs, and how it might not even work because they can get into the walls via electrical sockets, so I gave her some DE!!! And it cleared up her problem!!!

I haven't heard about the leaving things out in the sun, but around here I don't think it would get to 120 degrees anyway. But I have an idea: sprinkle DE (and/or salt*) into a big black trash bag (like contractor bags or lawn bags), put one piece of luggage into it, close tightly, THEN put it out in sun. The black plastic should super-heat any bugs!!! But if that doesn't kill them (), the DE will. Keep the luggage in the garbage bags for at least a few days. Maybe throw in a few mothballs for good luck (the kind with PDCB which kills bugs, not just napthalene which only repels bugs).

I'd maybe even leave the luggage in the trash bags out in the garage or shed, if you have one, until the next time you need it!

*I have read that salt (or borax, or baking soda) dehydrates and kills fleas, so maybe it would work for bedbugs, too. DE is very fine and might be hard to get off your luggage and clothing. Salt might be easier to clean up, as long as you don't use it on a humid day!

Ah, I wondered if it would ruin my luggage to sprinkle DE inside? I love the idea about the black trash bags and then placing in our garage. It gets very hot in the garage. Or maybe in my trunk as well? I know it gets hot in the trunk of our car. Thanks Jenny!
