Way too much time on my hands!

End of 3rd month

Checking in a day early because today will be UD, and tomorrow's weigh-in won't "count".

I have hit my scale goal each month. I'm trying for 83 pounds in a year (I rounded it up to 84- just 'cuz I can divide 84 by 12). Anyway, first month's goal was 7 pounds. After that, my goal is just the number of pounds still on me, divided by the number of months still on the calendar. Total loss since Jan. 1 is 21.5 pounds.

I hadn't measured since I started- until now. In three months, I've dropped 22 inches (if you count all the places I measure) or 8 inches (if you count the standard bust-waist-hips only).

I have been sick (upper respiratory gunk) almost this whole year, so I have been taking a lot of OTC symptom relievers. I think there have been three weeks that I haven't been congested, sneezing, coughing or the like, since I started JUDDD. I started back up on my seasonal allergy medicine about a week ago, and I've been fine ever since. I think my so-called colds (or some of them, anyway) may have been allergies all along. We never got a good deep freeze here, and lots of stuff that doesn't bother me until summer has been around since last summer. I'm expecting my rate of loss to pick up, now that I'm off the DayQuil/NyQuil.

I also quit smoking 11 weeks ago. That slows down your metabolism, too, at a rate of 200 calories a day (they say). I don't know how long that slow-down lasts, but at some point you would think it would let go and normalize? Anyway, I'm glad I'm not smoking now, so if the price I have to pay is a metabolic slow-down, so be it. JUDDD can fix it, right?

I'm expecting to be more active outdoors, now that the weather is getting warmer, so maybe that will help with the old metabolism as well. (Veering a little off-topic here- Neighbor and I have been walking a lot- 3 or more hours at a time, some days- anyway yesterday, we walked to the thrift store. They had ladies' pants and jeans for 50% off the ticketed price. I needed a new pair of jeans in the next size down, so I got one and she got some shirts. We left and went to the pharmacy in the same shopping center. We were in there about 10 minutes. We came out and the place was crawling with police cruisers, parking lot was taped off with crime scene tape, K9 handler was running up the street after his dog- and the dog was about to pull the guy's shoulder out of its socket- he was on to something! Anyway, we found out that the bank had been robbed while we were in that drug store. The robber got away.)

All right, I'm finished. See you next month!

As always, here is a current chart depicting the behavior of my scale:

Wow, there is so much going on in your life right now and adventures and excitement.

Glad you were safely tucked away in other businesses when that bank was robbed!

Really, really happy that you are off the cigarettes. It's hard to quit, and I do agree about the metabolic rate slowing down considerably after quitting. Don't know why, and I'd be surprised if it's only by 200 calories per day (it certainly seemed like more than that for me) but it's still very worth it, of course.

Especially fascinated about your way of figuring your weight loss goal for each month for the rest of this year to lose your desired 83 pounds. Very interesting.

I wanted to ask about FatCat's eye now. Hope it's healed well, and vision is good, and the blood that was pooled in the white of his eye is pretty much gone now. I felt so sorry for him. AND, I'll be needing cataract surgery this summer I'm told, so....

Pami, you're absolutely rocking this thang! Congratulations on losing weight so well, especially after quitting smoking and being sick so much. I'm glad your allergy medicine is helping. I suffer from seasonal allergies, too, and it's hard to keep things under control without meds sometimes.

Thanks for sharing your encouraging success with your JUDDD BUDDDs.

Pami!
You are rocking this WOE!!! I am right behind you in time, today marks 2 months for me.

I know one thing for certain that quitting smoking is not easy at all, and it gets better as the time goes by. My BFF for life (mom) quit after smoking many years and she is happy as a lark now! She also has been IF for many years and didn't even know that was what she was doing!!! She looks amazing! Very youthful for 73 and also, she is energetic as anyone I have ever met. Wishing you much success on the remainder of your journey!

Good morning everyone, Today is my first official day on JUDDD! I had a cup of coffee for breakfast 90 calories because I use milk in it and I like it light. So I have 410 calories left. I will use them wisely and hope for the best.
Thanks for all the support you girls offer.

Thank you Kissa. I didn't realizing I was posting on 2 different Juddd threads.
I'm not hungry yet and it's almost lunch time. My veggie soup is starting to smell good.
