18 to 10 in 7!!! I seriously do not believe it!!
I started successfully losing weight on August 1, 2011 doing the Attack phase of Dr. Dukan's diet... 7+ months ago.
By December I had lost 28 pounds, but pretty much had stopped losing and was seeing "scale creep" back up. Found Judd and now I'm down over 35 pounds. The amazing thing to me in the beginning was how the inches started melting and my clothes started getting baggy pretty quickly after I started DD/UD rotations, even before I noticed my first drop on the scale. Here is what I am amazed about, cannot believe, cannot understand, can someone explain it to me??!! :In August I was wearing a very tight size 18 jeans (Style & Co. brand from Macy's). They were my only pair of jeans and I didn't wear them often because they were so tight I could not breathe. I lost almost 20 pounds before I could finally buy a size 16 so off to Macy's I went and bought the same style/brand in a 16 and was happy. By December after losing 28 pounds I had the pleasure of going back to Macy's and buying a size 14. Started doing JUDD December 22, losing inches, 14's got baggy within about 2 weeks and off I went to Macy's and bought a size 12, same brand/style. My 12's have been getting baggy. Went to Macy's this week and bought a size 10!! Unfortunately they have discontinued my favorite style but I found a very cute pair, same Macy's brand (Style & Co.) and they fit so great, I cannot believe it. Help me out here. I know I'm tall. 5'9". Very long legs. However!!! I still weigh 194ish!!! How can I weigh 194 huge pounds and fit into a size 10 jeans??? ![]() they are not tight. They are comfortable. I know all about vanity sizing and that what is now a 10 would have probably been a 14 many years ago. That said, I know the last time I weighed 194 I was not as thin as I am now. I'm not complaining!!!! ![]() ![]() Just sayin'. Is this part of the JUDD magic??????????? If so, bring on some more, please!!!![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() From size 18 to size 10 in 7 months.

I don't know quite how much of anything happens on JUDDD, but I think there is something about the semi-fasting aspect of the plan that works to reshape us. I think somehow our bodies don't just lose weight, they go a little beyond that to the point of slimming our proportions back to a more youthful form. So not just skinnier but skinny more in the shape of a younger person, if that makes any sense.
![]() Anyway, exciting to hear anything about size 10 pants! ![]() |

That's amazing!!! Yay for you!!!
![]() So...if I understand this correctly.... 28lbs meant the difference between a size 18 and a 14, but 7 more dropped you down the same number of sizes, from a 14 to a 10?! Maybe it's the anti-inflammatory effect that causes seemingly "extra" shrinkage? |

I did read something recently about how eating plans that cause rapid fat burn while preserving muscle actually act quite a bit like lypo-suction. Meaning that, with lypo, the fat cells themselves are sucked out, die and never come back! Whereas, with most calorie reducing diets fat cells shrink, but live on and stay in our bodies. If IF and JUDD cause fat cells to actually shrink and then die and get flushed out, what does this say for body shaping and for the prospect of being able to keep the weight off forever?? hmmmmm???? I'm pretty excited about this concept!!! Oh, and as you were talking about a "more youthful way" of shaping caused by JUDDing: DH can't stop complimenting me on my flat belly and how small my waist is getting! He talks about it every day and night! ![]() ![]() Now, since I have him JUDDing, too, he has lost 20 pounds and almost 3 inches from his waist!!! Now when he says, wow, your tummy is so flat!! I say, "Right back at 'ya!!!"![]() Woo-Hooo!![]() |

![]() ![]() Now I love it when people on the JUDD boards say that old saying about how the world sees how you look but only YOU see the numbers on your scale. I don't think anyone would believe I weigh as much as I do. I know I have a large frame, probably heavy bones and I've always been very muscular. That accounts for a lot of the weight. My body fat% is going down, down, down. ![]() ![]() |

Some people think that weight loss also leads to some fat "moving around" type of thing... it doesn't move, but maybe you lose from a fat pocket/area vs losing all over.
You could also lose some internal fat (there's fat around all our major intestinal organs-- see Dr. Eades' middle-age-middle book) so you could lose from there and fit smaller jeans. I have a similar experience, but in reverse-- I lost 60lbs in 2003/4 and went from a 24 to a 16/18. I've regained almost all the weight, but not all the sizes... I was in a 20 for the longest time, and some pants are a 22 (but they're loose again, yay!). Side note-- LOVE Style & Co.! I didn't usually shop in "department store" types of places, but since I learned about this line, and the frequent sales Macy's and other stores (The Bay in Canada where I am), I've become a fan of this line in Plus sizes. Really cute and well made. |

![]() In August I wore a 44 DD. Now I wear a 36 DDD. Very weird. I have wondered if my armpit fat dropped into my cups.?![]() Congrats on the 22s being loose!!! Yay!!! I so agree about loving Style & Co. The jeans are so soft. they are not thick, heavy and stiff like some jeans. And the fit is magical. Old cliche' but they fit like a glove! So cute and so many styles. Lots of them with bling! or with top stitching that is adorable. |

I have yet to experience this, but will be super excited when it happens. I had to lose 25 lbs before I bought new jeans (though I went from a 24 to a 20 at that point). I lost another 20 before I got into 18s--where I am now. And weirdly, I've lost a few lbs since I bought those, and the waist is tighter now than when I bought them.
They fit the same everywhere else though. |

OK, Lou, I'm thinking more about it and I think I'm getting what you are saying. So, if the cup size had stayed the same but the band size got smaller, as it has, I would be a 36 HH. Definitely I'm smaller especially where my rib cage is!! When I lay down my ribs actually stick out and DH commented that he can see/feel all my rib bones!!!
I still feel like my cups (my breast tissue) is way to big. Maybe that's because I have lost so many inches everywhere else. Hopefully some of that breast fat will melt away eventually. Do you think it might? I surely hope so! I have the cutest leather jacket which I love. I can button it at the waist and hips and all the way up to my ribs. But the breast part, no way. It won't even come together at my boobage area. And, I would like it to! |

I can attest to the 'reshaping' effect of JUDDD. I dropped a pants size without any weight loss on the scale yet my waist didn't change (in fact I think it's a half inch larger)...which is kind of good because so many pants would be far too large in the waist but not the seat. Also, I know from last year anytime I approached the weight I'm at right now (123-124) my face would start to look too thin. But not now. I'm happy about that because I still see some areas that I could lose a bit in (belly & thighs) so I can still work at it some.

Yam-Yam, I know exactly what you mean. I lost a bunch of weight years ago, got down to a size 16 (for about 20 minutes) and weighed about 165.
Now I'm 183 and wearing a size 14. I attribute it to the extra muscle I have now since I exercise--back then I never exercised. Maybe it's also vanity sizing. But I know people are shocked when I tell them how much I weigh--and to a person, they all say that I don't look like I weigh as much as I do. |

This is an exciting post, Yam Yam! So happy for you!! I've also continued to lose fat all over in maintenance to where I'm down a cup size (yeayyy!). I think someone already mentioned it, but there are different ways to measure bra sizes... . I was reading something on that a while back. But it's great that you're losing and fitting into awesome small sizes!!! Enjoy, both you and your DH! ![]() Last edited by sophiethecat; 03-30-2012 at 04:52 PM.. |
