Alcohol and DD ?

Hi guys,

What's the feeling about alcohol on DD?

As long as I stay within my DD calorie limit, does it matter?

I'm going out tonight, and could fast all day and have Ahi Tuna and a Vodka/ice tea and still be well within my dd limits.

Just like any food or drink, as long as you figure it into you calorie allowance it's fine. One has to be careful about overdoing it since alcohol tends to activate the munchies, but since you're planning to have only one drink and eat a meal with it, sounds like it'll go great. Have a good time.

Cindy, you crack me up!!! Love it!

If you fit it into your DD calorie allotment it's fine.

There have been 2 or 3 times when I have had a DD where I did not consume any calories all day except for 1 TBLSP half and half in my coffee for 40 calories.

Then, in the evening DH will want to sit on the porch and have a glass of red wine together.

Interestingly, it has not sparked my appetite. I just sip it slowly and talk a lot! Usually those are the times I see a nice low number the next morning and it may be from a little dehydration maybe, but nice to see the scale go down!

I say go for it and just limit yourself so you don't go overboard.

Thanks everyone!

I KNOW that it's the calories (and variances) on JUDDD, but somehow my brain just refuses to believe it!

Keep in mind that when you fast all day and then consume alcohol its effects hit you faster. I speak from experience on that one

I have found that my body doesn't hang on to alcohol calories. I consume a vodka drink in the evenings quite often, sometimes more than one. Makes no difference whatsoever on my rate of weightloss, low carb or low cal, up day or down day. If I mix my vodka with diet soda, though, I tend to retain water, so I usually just mix it with water. I still stay away from beer on down days though, even though it didn't matter when I was on Atkins as long as it was light beer. I'm not much of a wine drinker, but dry wine (white or red) has never impacted my weightloss either.
I have discovered all this after much experimentation ::hiccup::

Is it bad that I'm tempted to try it just because I'm sure this is true? I always fast until dinner on DDs and could easily squeeze a glass or two even of brut champagne into one of my lower calorie DDs. Hmm...

I love you guys. Wine and chips.

I had a G&T one DD and lost loads - all that water weight just waiting for a nudge. Of course it all goes back the next day.

Fun though and as you say - it makes you a cheap date.

Today is a DD for me and I thought about this thread. Long story short - I've had coffee (with horrible skim milk instead of the 1/2 & 1/2) and that means I'm darn close to ZERO calories for the day. Just poured a glass of Chardonnay!!! Life is great with JUDD

I can only wish that the "corruption" happened with this diet. I've always loved wine!

OMGosh! DD for me here. All I've had calorie wise is 40 for the half and half and 40 for the CO.

I'm not going to the store. But there is about 4 ounces of chardonnay left in a bottle in the fridge. This just might be automatic portion control and something to look forward to much later in the day!

I love you Peeps!!! We are all out of our minds. Um. Are we dieting?

Sadly, I needed more calories yesterday on my UD. I had a glass of Shiraz. It wasn't enough calories, but alas, there was a bit left in a bottle of Chardonnay. Still not enough calories when I finished that off, so I had 4 squares of chocolate. Hmm, you mean I need more? 1 1/2 T peanut butter later, and I still needed calories! There were a couple of ounces of vodka left in a bottle on the fridge. I polished that off and still ended up under my calories for yesterday.

Is it sad that I killed 3 bottles of booze in just a couple of hours?

Yes but now I'm sad. There's nothing left in the house to drink on my DD. It never occurred to me to have a glass of wine on a DD!

I've got to get more creative planning out my UDs along with my DDs! I'm 100% positive that this is the only woe I've come across that allows not only delicious foods that I love but also so much freedom and FUN!

I have carefully planned some wine in on DDs here and there, and around the holidays I was able to work in a couple diet Coke & bourbons on some DDs, since it has lower calories compared to many other drinks. But mainly I'm a red wine-girl. And wanted to add, I didn't drink on DDs very often. For one thing, I felt like my liver was getting a nice cleansing rest too on my DDs along with the rest of my system.
