Hello from a first time JUDDDer

I just wanted to say hi to everyone and ask if people can take a look at my first DD menu plan...

I'm 36 y/o female, living in Germany and I came to JUDDD through Kissa and many others in the UK thread who are raving about it! I have had a wonderful first year of bliss with my BF, and with that bliss came 30lbs!!!
I think with all the yo yo dieting over the years I really need to get my act together and do something that is sustainable for life. Although LC has always worked, I am just not seeing it as permanent for some reason. I cannot get my head around it. AGAIN. and make it a WOL anymore. I want something that I can manage and keep up for the rest of my life and not have to deal with having my largest clothes be too tight on me!

I'm new at this, and due to a wheat allergy I'm combining LC with JUDDD, like many more of you here.
I don't have real carb numbers I want to stick to, but I'm avoiding sugar and all the white stuff for now... We'll see how I go a bit further down the road!

So, my menu for my first DD is eat when hungry, and I've prepared the right quantities of foods. What I have to eat for today is:

- fat free quark (very German, delicious and filling) 250 grams, 178 cals
- tuna packed in water, 90 grams, 96 cals
- wild tomatoes, 100 grams, 17 cals
- garden cucumber (they are tastier than the big watery ones) 100 gams, 12 cals
- lightly smoked turkey breast, sliced, 150 grams, 179 cals.

This brings my total to 482, so I could add some raspberry protein powder (no soy!) to my quark for flavour which would up my protein and add 16 cals for a TB scoop, which would bring my cals up to 498...

So... How does it look? I'm at work today and this evening is going to be difficult enough with BF eating normal stuff (he's skinny and man, can he eat! ) so having things ready and prepared makes me feel better already!

So far I've had a couple of cups of black coffee, some water, and a cup of green tea.. not hungry yet!

Looks good to me. Quark is a great idea. I never liked the texture of cottage cheese but Quark is yummy. I mix protein in with Greek yoghurt on UP days sometimes and it's good and filling.

Timing is part of the strategy. Perfection for JUDDD is to spread out the calories during the day but a lot of people seem to keep the food till as late as they can and then eat it all in the evening.

I have a skinny friend who says she can eat what she likes but if I spend a whole day with her I notice she can skip meals with no hunger. Hoping that if I re-train my hungry genes then I will be a natural skinny too!

My BF is like that. He can go the whole day without eating and then have one huge meal in the evening. He's naturally skinny too... He only eats when he's hungry, and it comes naturally to him. Me, not so much unfortunately!

Exactly, My DH is the same if I let him... I make hime eat breakfast even though I don't as a rule.

Those look like great choices Chloe.

I find frozen shrimp a great standby too. Have a look at the Cabbage suggestions too, lots of great ideas there. I use things like Tom Yum Paste and curry pastes with it, a lot of flavour for the calories/carbs.

Another favourite is slow baked beef tomatoes with a a couple of anchovy fillets on top. Amazingly satisfying for relatively few calories.

Welcome to the JUDDD family Mimosa, yipper!!!!

My husband is the same way, he'll eat a little something way before dinnertime, then won't eat any dinner and next thing you know, he's in bed for the night. He's not crazy at all about sweets that much (unbelievable ), and he doesn't have a weight problem either. Funnee how our hubbys eat only when hungry, and were IF without even knowing they were; glad we are now on board that train - weight loss, here we come!!!

Thanks for the welcome, Sophiethecat and Valerie!
I'm so excited about this JUDDD thing!
So far my day has been good, I don't feel super hungry, but that could also be because TOM arrived today and then I never feel so great. I ate my Quark and my tuna and the tomatoes, and will have dinner with BF (who will probably eat something great!!!) and will eat my turkey and cucumber. I've been drinking lots of water this afternoon, so you can imagine where I've been most of the time, LOL! My colleagues must think I have some kind of stomach bug, the amount of times I've gone to the bathroom!

BF is actually really supportive and he asked if it was ok if he ate in front of me on DD! I told him to just be his normal self, as I need to make this a WOL, and so learn that there's always tomorrow!

Wow - this rings true with my DH too! Wonder why I never thought to mimic his WOE

He has maintained an ideal weight for years - he skips breakfast, usually works through lunch, then had a big (low carb as he says carbs make him drowsy) dinner and snacks on almonds or peanuts (unsalted) at night. He doesn't drink alcohol either!!

Come to think of it - JUDDD is far preferable

Adding my welcome here! I'm glad you're with us.

It doesn't take very long for our spouses and partners to get used to our alternating way of eating, so very shortly it works smoothly with them just eating *regular* on our DDs, and then the both of you being free to eat together, however and whatever you choose, on your UDs.

I'm so glad to have you with us here. I know you'll do wonderfully well on JUDDD!

Welcome Mimosa! And I have to add - my husband must do IF unintentionally too. He goes most of the day without eating and has a big meal at night. In the almost 23 years since we've met, his weight as only varied by maybe 20 pounds. Now mine.......
