here i go....
i started yesterday with a DD. nothing but tea and a couple pieces of gum.
to day is my first UD. It worked out well cuz i have a dinner with friends tonight and it works out that easter will be an ud. my plan: to stick to 0/2750 as close as i can.. my actual daily allowed is around 700/3500+ i plan on walking a mile on dd and 2 on up i STILL havent weighed myself since i started lc but i am curious but as a guy, i just worry about my pant size lol my goal is 36 ...currently a 44, was a 46 a month ago. not going to judge this for a month, no freaking out i know ill gain coming off lc but should be fine little worried that the white monster will get me but we shall see. im going to update this along the way maybe it will help others (guys) in the future! have a good thursday everyone. im off to write a check for 1500.00 in car repairs and THEN off to get some carbs! lol |

Well, Jamie, that check is going to make you considerably lighter right off the bat!
![]() Hehe, I think you're going to do great, and if the white monster gets you, I suspect he'll release his hold within a couple of weeks. That seems to be about when people realize they can have whatever they want on UDs and it sort of loses it's power. Moderation ends up just naturally happening. Good luck! |

Just wondering - why going so low on the calories? You are cutting yourself short by over 1400 above and beyond the calories deficit already counted in to the calculator.
I think that JUDDD is about losing weight, but more importantly, about resetting our metabolisms. You will be eating about what I do in 2 days and honestly, I probably go over my limit a bit. I'm half your size...and I'm losing weight... I'm not trying to preach...just genuinely wondering what your thinking is. I wish you good luck! I hope you love it as much as I do! |

Good luck jamie. You will do great. I started JUDDD after 1 month of LC and lost 10 lbs. the first month. I also did what you are planning to do about weighing and stayed off the scales for 1 month.
I agree with the other posters about your calories...EAT and enjoy them!! We are a little jealous of your UD number. |

hello and thanks!
i was getting a little goofy by the afternoon. i hadnt eaten in about 38 to 40 hours. not intentionally. i was stuck at a friends house for about four hours more than i thought. im basically going to eat smart and until im full. i was thing i would fast 36 hours then ave a low carb lunch, then a regular dinner. here was todays meal, im sure it was a lot of calories, we had birthday dinner at redrobin had slices of ham with cheese for lunch arounf 600 calories then for dinner i ate a double cheese burger fries and a couple mozz sticks. im thinking it was probably pushing 3000. i just cant see eating 4500 calories on a normal day. and im hoping true fasting for 24/36 hours is the best way to go.... it sounded like actual fasting was going to work best? |

I don't think it's a good idea to stuff yourself until you are uncomfortable, or if eating makes you feel sickly. But I will say this, in the past, when I cut my UD short by just 200 calories, I stalled totally and completely. Now, I am a much smaller package than you, sir, but you are shorting yourself by quite a lot. I'm just telling you my experience so that you may be prepared just in case your initial results are underwhelming.

Nicely phrased Speck!
Give it a go as you have planned Jamie, but be prepared to get you calories in if necessary. |

ill work on it. im sure part of the reason was because i went to long without eating. i mean i ate a lot i just have a huge alottment of calories. i ate until i waswaaaay full. i have a more planned attack for normal weekdays .. yesterday i was stuck for a little while. back to fasting today and dont have to worry about calories at all! lol
anyone get any lottery tix? wow! |

It's great to find little tricks that work for you. I do the same thing with Diet Pepsi. I only have it on UDs and I usually only have one sometime mid afternoon. It really hits the spot for me. sounds like you are doing great!

I will be looking forward to seeing how your adaptation works for you, and I wish you great good luck! I know you are determined.
You are sort of doing a blend of two plans... Jamie's and Dr. Johnson's. LOLOL As was mentioned above, one of the reasons for not dropping our calories too low (for our own body's personal needs at whatever its current weight) is that it seems to trigger our metabolism to slow as well. And most of us have lousy metabolisms to begin with.. else we wouldn't have ever needed to find our way to a gathering place like this. ![]() I expect this should work well for you, certainly to start out, and you can just keep an eye on your weight loss as time goes by. I'm so happy you are finally here with us and on your way!!!!! Woo Hoo!

Glad to hear you're doing so well starting out with JUDDD, Jamie!
You've got a plan and it's obvious you've put a lot of thought into JUDDD and how you can make it work best for you. Give it at least 2 weeks and see how you do, and then if you feel it needs some adjustment, let us know and we'll be glad to help you figure it out. |

You need to rush to the store (do not pass go, do not collect 200 dollars) and get potassium gluconate or glumate or something that sounds like that and some magnesium and take it immediately. Low potassium levels are nothing to mess around with. I was only LCing for a week or so when it was time for my annual blood tests. Dr. was shocked at my low potassium and asked if possibly I was getting leg cramps! YES! She commanded me to get potassium supplements and take them every day. She said it was not a good idea to get sodium from table salt, but to eat foods rich in sodium. I forget all of them but I know meat and fish and poultry are in the list.

BTW: Google low potassium levels and you will see that it can be deadly. I'm going to hound you about this, so please let me know. I'm worried about you!
