Those who exercise, whats your playlist?
I have been walking/running last 2 weeks, but the music I have on my MP3 players is old. Well most of it. I am looking for some new music that has a strong beat and is good to run to.
My playlist contains:
Marilyn Manson-The beautiful people
My Chemical Romance-Planetary Go, and Na na na na
Rob Zombie -Let the bodies
Roisin Murphy-Ramalama (bang, bang)
Bullets for my valentine- Tears dont fall
I need some new stuff. Most of this is older and I listen to it all the time and I am bored of it. My daughter offered me some of her music.....but I dont listen to pop or country music, well I do but as you can see above what my preference is........
Oh....I wanted to help, but....NEW music?!
Most of the stuff on my ipod is at least 3 or 4 years old!
I like Foo Fighters, Cake, Beastie Boys, Ween, White Stripes, Cage the Elephant, Franz Ferdinand...is any of that "energetic" enough for running?
My son listens to a bit harder stuff like System of a Down...maybe he'll have some suggestions...I'll ask him tomorrow! :)
I do HIIT three times a week. I love listening to lady gaga and pink while I excercise. I also move around a lot on my itouch from one song to the next on a whim. My itouch only let's me make one playlist at a time, which is crazy or I would have made several by now. I love Adele's Rolling in the Deep.
Well, keep in mind that I'm kinda weird, but often I'll put on what I call "Club Classical". Examples....
-Clubbed to Death by Rob Dougan
-The Fifth by David Garrett (omgosh, watch him on youtube!)
-Explosive by Bond
and others by E.S. Posthumus, Apocalyptica, Bond, Epica, etc.
Old and eclectic
ELO - Hold On Tight
Trace Adkins - Honky Tonk Badonkadonk
Wild Cherry - Play That Funky Music
Steve Holy - Brand New Girlfriend
Gretchen Wilson - Redneck Woman
Chick - Le Freak
Fog Hat - Slow Ride
Freddy Cannon - Where the Action Is
Ohhh ty!!!! I usually know alot about music, but there are some listed here I never heard of!!! I do have to look them up!
piratejenny- lol!!! Yes energetic enough lol!! I love Cage the Elephant!!!! They are becoming my new favorite band!!!
Okay, y'all gotta realize I originally come from South Carolina. Country music is in my blood, and I love it (although you can find anything and everything at our house :) )
My running soundtrack, which for whatever reason is VITAL to me is:
Rascal Flatts-The whole album. There are some very relevant songs on there, and I am all about the words.
Josh Groban (see, I told you, something other than country :hyst:)-"Don't Give Up"
Gretchen Wilson-Here for the Party,Redneck Woman, When It Rains-I Pour
That gets me through my 45 minute 4.5 mile run, and cool down.
I must have this to run. I have my pace and personal expectations mapped out with the soundtrack. Yeah, I'm a little OCD...:p
ty! my daughter has a few of those cd! might have to give a listen to them after all!
Oh Sophie, why did you have to remind me about Mr Hotness David Garrett?! I'm going to be useless for days now!!!
This is my current playlist, I just throw in songs that I enjoy, they don't necessarily have to have a certain beat. I lean pretty much towards 90s still industrial/alternative or current favorites, I was a DJ in college radio so I tend to try to relive that era sometimes!
Korn & Skrillex - Cannibal
Jane Jensen - Luv Song
Sleeper Agent - Get It Daddy
Killing Joke - Millennium
Prick - I Apologize
Repo! The Genetic Opera soundtrack - Zydrate Anatomy
Gravity Kills - Down (Lords of Acid power remix)
Nine Inch Nails - Ruiner (version from Further down the Spiral)
Jane's Addiction - Obvious
Pearl Jam - Rearviewmirror
Marilyn Manson - Sweet Dreams
Denis Leary - ******* (hah, why did I put that in there? I don't know!)
Cypress Hill - Insane in the Brain
MGMT - Time to Pretend
Gorillaz - Dare
Mindless Self Indulgence - Bring the Pain
Arcade Fire - Ready to Start
Crystal Castles featuring Robert Smith - Not in Love
Scars on Broadway - They Say
Middle Class Rut - New Low
Violent Femmes - Kiss Off
Frank Black - Headache
Cypress Hill - Rock Superstar
Limp Bizkit - Break Stuff
Pavement - Stereo
Pailhead - I Will Refuse
Pop Will Eat Itself - Ich Bin Ein Auslander
Ministry - So What
White Zombie - Thunder Kiss 65
The Shins - Simple Song
tv series catch up or audio books.
I do better listening to audio books than music when out walking or biking
I desperately need a new playlist......been listening to the same one for just over a year now. LOL I just never have the time it takes to put a new one together.
A song that always gets me happy/bouncing around is "Wig in a Box" from the Hedwig soundtrack.
Do you like Latin music? Cumbia, samba, reggaeton, etc are very energizing!
These are some of the ones on my "Just Walk" or "Zumba" playlist.
Brothers Johnson - "Stomp"
Sia - "You've Changed"
Bob Seeger - "Old Time Rock and Roll"
Zucchero - "Bacco Perbacco" (Italian, but great beat)
Deluka - "Cascade"
Amy Grant - "Every Heartbeat"
Jamiroquai - "Canned Heat"
Barry White - "You're the First, the Last, My Everything"
Madonna - "Express Yourself"
Michael Jackson - "The Way You Make Me Feel"

Royal Philharmonic Orchestra - "Hooked on Classics"
Edward Maya & Vika Jigulina - "Stereo Love"
Lou Bega - "Sweet Like Cola"
Aretha Franklin - "Freeway of Love"
Jennifer Lopez - "Papi"
and 3 million more, but I'll refrain. :hyst:
I was just in the middle of making a new running playlist - and I stole from a few of you :) - but here they are....song titles only, I am too lazy to type out artist too. :)
