Well I have sacrificed in the name of research. I factored in the calories for a WHATABURGER and a small order of fries for lunch. I have returned and I can say:
They were BETTER than I remember. And I sure got a lot of fries for a small order. I had my only child when I was 40. I remember going through the drive through at the Whataburger in Tyler everytime I went for a doctor's appointment. For some reason I craved Whataburgers. That was 23 years ago and I honestly can't remember having a Whataburger since then. With a small child it was all about McDonalds for many years. It must be an inherited trait or all those Whataburgers I ate when I was pregnant, but DS is now a Whataburger lover as well. AND I ENJOYED EVERY BITE.

Yeah, it's hard to beat a Whataburger! I've had the kids' meal with a mint chocolate chip shake, burger and fries at Braum's a couple of times recently and it's been wonderful. I love JUDDD!

I don't know what Braum's is, but if I did, I'd be there 30 minutes ago. Oh wait, it's a DD...I'd be there yesterday! |

It doesn't appear as though Mickey-D's is picking up bags of plaster of paris at the craft store in order to dump it into their buns. On the other hand, the uses of the calcium sulfate appear to be either as a filler or a firming agent (as in with the veggies, tofu and jelly). The filler thing is icky though. Basically, gypsum (a white powdery mineral) is being added as a filler to wheat flour and that is used by all sorts of companies and bakeries to make food with. --- Anyway, I ate out at our towns "best burgers in town" place tonight (inspired by another thread here earlier in the week) and the burger and the onion rings and the fried zucchini were just as wonderful as I remembered them! ![]() |

I'd been craving Chocolate Chip Cookies/Peanut Butter Cookies -- "Safeway" had them on sale Friday, 50 in a pack for for $5... I bought a box of each, divided them into a dozen per bag for the freezer, and left 8 out for immediate consumption. DH ate 2, and I took care of the other 6. I was so VERY pleased to find out they weren't as good as I thought they'd be!! So, we have 92 cookies to take to 'office functions' to share!!

I love Indonesian food, and hadn't had any for ages... My UD on Saturday I had Indonesian Rijsttafel for dinner... It tasted sooo much better than I remember... The rice, the peanut sauce, the spicy creamy coconut beef, the chili stirfried veggies, the peanut sauce... (oh, did I already mention the peanut sauce????) Really I would have had stir fried noodles too, but my wheat allergy will really do a number on me when I do eat wheat (eczema, sneezing, runny nose, eyes, heartburn, etc etc) so I didn't have any... I was satisfied and happy, and felt great, no carb coma, no other effects, just a happy me!!!
