Everything weighed and measured = 1700 calories. Since I've had such a dreadful time with my JUDDD attempts in the past I am starting with a modified plan of 800/1700. Hopefully the swing is wide enough but even without full JUDDD magic I will be at an average of 1250 a day, something I can never seem to manage without dedicated down and up days. Fingers crossed.
I think you will do great! I tend to have higher DDs too, and find them necessary to my success.

DD here, lunch with an old friend so not a little wine was drunk.

Duck breast, potato, beans and carrots, red wine. Probably around 700.

Thank you so much!

Yes, I have tried this twice (since November) and even at 500 it was just torturous for me. I really wanted to be one of those JUDDD BUDDDs who says "the DDs are the easy part!"

In the meantime I'd been doing low to moderate carb calorie counting but kept getting drawn back to these boards and this idea. Eating 1300 every day is tough in its own way, but so far on this new modified plan I'm feeling AWESOME and loss has picked up already. I'm sure I can lower those DDs as I go along but so far so good . . . I was just over 700 yesterday but felt totally full. Three real meals too.

p.s. please know that the bunny with a pancake on its head has given my seven year old daughter and I a lot of laughs this week!!!

Great to see you back here, Temple! I think those number can work just fine. I believe it's plenty to activate JUDDD. Maybe it doesn't build up as quickly, but if it's what works over the long haul then it's going to work! Let us know how you do!

Don't worry about your DDs. I think 700 is good...and to be full at 700? Pretty amazing. I'm always amazed at the people that fast or do 200 or 300 cals. I'd die. Simply die. You'll be fine at the numbers that you have and will probably be able to lower the DDs as you go, but don't be so rough on yourself if you don't. I've seen people put up "ruined DD" for going 30, 60, or 100 cals over. NOT a ruined DD!

I agree! It's just a DD at a higher % is all.

I'm another that needs higher calories on DD. I think I had ONE the whole time I've been doing this that was under 500 calories, but I never tried to go that low again.

Really, I think our bodies "freak out" (in a good way for us!) at the huge drop in calories on DD, whether it's 800 or 200, lol. That's still MUCH MUCH less than the amount of calories we ate the day before on UD. And believe me, this huge difference - this big drop in calories - registers with our bodies. It's all hands on deck at that point! Just like it did with our ancestors, it's still going to rev us up mentally and physically (to make sure food is found soon) It's why this still works for those of us eating 500 - 800 calorie DD (some are daring to do a little more, some guys mainly), and JUDDD's still working. And the next day, we're eating roughly 1000 calories more (or even more than that!) than on DD and it puts the big swing in there once again. As long as our calorie average over the two days is on target, good things should happen.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANNIE AND MOMMYWITH PLENTY![
UD for me today. Had monthly lunch with some high school "girls" (we were graduated 52 years ago on May 27!). We are the "YA-YA's".....

Had an American Pie American Club Sandwich and bag of chips with tea.
Went to DSIL house and had a homemade cinnamon roll for dessert. (I had made the Pioneer Woman's famous cinnamon rolls---to die for!!!)

Have about 507 cals left for the day.

Oh yes, we are laughing everytime too! So funny.

I definitely found the 500ish range to be extremely hard with lots of headaches and general ick feeling. I know that it can pass, but it didn't pass soon enough. It's funny because I usually have a hard time staying within the 1350ish or so that the Lose It app allows me on a "regular" day but having the focus of the down day made well under 800 possible. Had a great DD turkey chili--full bowl for 150 calories and for dinner fish tacos featuring 5 1/2 ounces of tilapia. Felt great! I did have some pretty wild dreams though. lol

Thanks so much, sophiethecat! I have been here every day, lurking and reading and inexplicably drawn back to JUDDD. I'm ready to give it my all this time and I **know** based on yesterday that I can stick to those numbers like glue. I just felt like I couldn't *really* do it if I didn't get under that 500 before, I guess. My true up day number is up around 2000 so I'm essentially just taking from the up day and giving to the DD but hopefully keeping enough of a swing in there. I will definitely report back! I'm totally on the crazy train and weigh everything to the gram so I should have lots of good data. I have a glucometer too. I so appreciate all of your valuable posts to this forum! That's one of the things that continually amazes me about the JUDDD Budds. Where else do people fly past their goal weights and keep losing?

Thank you, Valerie! I haven't had a burger on any semblance of a bun in quite some time. I'm finding too that as long as I balance out the carbs with protein and fat I feel just fine afterwards too.

Sorry to clutter up the Wednesday thread--just excited!!
