Question?

about a 1 1/2 ago I weighed 174 and now I am about 170-172(170 this morning after a dd) and there is a dress that I can't zip up the side still even though I wore it before. What gives?
What do I need to do loose 5 more pounds or what?

Stuff just shifts sometimes. Are you exercising more? Maybe you have more muscle in your back/rib area?

I know my body shape is completely different now than it was the last time I weighed what I do now.

Yeah I think your weight shifted or your boobies got bigger or maybe when you last weighed that much you had more muscle than you do now, making your weight more back then even though your inches were less? So maybe you were actually smaller the last time you weighed that much because more of that weight was muscle. That could be it.

Yup. Being the same weight doesn't necessarily mean you are the same size.

Actually, a few months ago I read several articles that, encapsulated, said the location of full and empty fat cells move around radically during weight loss. Then, once weight stops changing it takes six months to a year, but body shape gradually adjusts/changes. Frequently the change goes back to a smaller version of the original shape.

How about it, Maintainers? Has anyone noticed their body shape changing since weight loss stabilized?

but seriously, I understand your frustration.....I have noticed a change with age - however much I lose, my waist will never be as small as it used to be

I'm 7lbs heavier now then I was about 3 years ago - and I'm bigger than I was then - more than 7lbs would credit!! I'm quite certain that once I hit goal (which I'm seriously tempted to change to a size!) my body will change afterwards. I know that this is happening for Kissa.

yes it does happen and I don't like it I wore the dress in the summer of 2010 b/c at the end of 2010 that's when I started to gain weight so I didn't even wear it last year. Boy this getting old stuff is crazy
So now I need to loose more weight to try to get in it and its not much but still.

Seriously. Even though I'm smaller in the waist and finally losing size in the hips and thighs, my "cups runneth over"!

In 2002 I had a breast reduction I was wearing a 48h and I asked to be taken down to a D and I ended up a B so that's when I felt the need to lose weight.
1. I didn't know I had that much stomach under my breast 2. The fear of having smaller boobs with a big gut just was unslightly to me. My boobs have not changed I just need to find out how to loose some inches in my upper body b/c the dress is a side zip dress.

Ugh, I feel your pain! I have clothes that I should have been able to fit into 12 lbs ago, but they're still too tight. The weight doesn't come off the exact same way it was put on.

We all want what we cannot have. I'm 30 G but it was a bulging, uncomfortable 30 H in October..

Patience is a virtue and, as Vicky says, I am seeing my shape improve as I keep my weight down. I am a lot older than most of you too....
