New

I'm thinking about trying JUDDD. I found a online calculator and it says my UD should be 2159 and my DD 432. 2159 SCARES me! Can that possibly be right? I don't even know if i can eat that much.

The up day numbers can sound scary and I felt the same way. Our minds think this can't be possible. But if you think about it, many of us have stalled because we were eating calories too low and our metabolism lowers tremendously.

When you average the up and down day, what do you get? About 1296. That's what most people eat on a regular diet. Look at the average over a week.

On your up days, start early in the day to get all your calories in and add fats to your diet. Healthy ones like coconut oil, avocado, cheese, nuts. Those items can bring the calories up remarkably fast.

Don't be scared. Don't make the mistake of adjusting your up day to lower calories. Give this a shot and you will be pleasantly surprised!

Did you use Dr J's calculator? If you post your stats, we can double check it for you to be sure, but that's about what I started at and it is working for me.

to JUDDD! And I want to say that there are a LOT of other things in life to be afraid of, but not those UD calories! Enjoy them and this WOE to the most and I know you will never be sorry you did. Looking at your weight stats I'm sure those calories are pretty close to being right, but you can always go to the "List Of Online Calorie Counters And Calorie Calculators" on the "WANT TO KNOW LOTS ABOUT JUDDD" link i have posted below and check out some other calculators and get an average and use those numbers:

Thanks! I did go to Dr. J's site. i put in the wrong weight lol so my UD would be 2122 and DD 424. Do you start plan with a UD or a DD or does it even matter?

you can start with whichever you like. a lot of people start with an up day just for the freedom that gives, but if you had a big food day yesterday you could start today with a down day. whichever gives you the emotional security to continue is the one for you!

I'm going to attempt it as lowcarb just because when i eat higher carbs i get really really bloated and just feel gross.

Today is my 2nd day on JUDDD. I'm doing it Low-carb as well. My UD calories are 2195 and DD calories are 439-768 depending on the percentage chosen.

Missy, I'm doing low carb with JUDDD. I am much more satisfied with fat more than protein, so DDs take some planning. Well, really, no matter what you do it takes planning on the DD .. but low carb is doable with JUDDD. There are some others mixing the two plans, also.

Be sure and visit the sticky DD meals thread and plan, plan, plan!!

I don't. I do have a protein shake afterwards on an UD and make room in my calories for one on a DD if I exercise.
