Feeding Coma

First off i want to say I am so happy i found this WOE.. ive lost so many inches and i know that by months end i will hit my second goal of 200.. i am soo close.. one more pound to go! My question is this..i have noticed the last two UD getting to (2100) cals.. of which i do eat thru out the day... but the big meal at the end of the day.. i eat to such a "FULL" capacity that with in a half hour i am sent into a sleepy coma of sorts.. i am sooo tired that i fall asleep before my bed time.. my DD cals(120) which i love love love.. and feel so great on are now i never feel tired on... i am kind of confussed as to why food is now making me soooo sleepy?? Any one else have this happen?

I'm too new to answer your question but something caught my eye........your DD is 120 calories? Do you just have a shake or what do you have on DD?

Hi and welcome.. on a DD i drink only 4 cups of coffee. my typical 3 in the morning to get me started with 90 cal of my powdered creamer, and then i save on for my after noon around 3pm if i start to feel hungar set in.. the rest of the day i keep full with water ... seams to work best for me if i drink my water warm also, due to i can consume more that way.. this is what works for me... for if i eat i cant seam to shut off the hunger...this is the end of my third week.. and i feel great! (on a DD)

I also need to add .. my sister who is doing JUDDD right along with me has tryed to reduce her DD cals.. and her body cant handle it.. she gets very dizzy, and so sleepy with the shakes.. so she needs to eat on a DD.. lower the DD cal is an individual thing.. it is not for every one.. if you feel weak or get dizzy and headaches its not advisable to go so low.. She needs to eat like 700 cals to get thru a DD and her loss is still happening.. and she eats ice cream!!! almost every day!!I am following a moderate carb plan while i do mine so ice cream is out of the question!!

I'd say try spreading your calories out more throughout your UD and not have such a huge dinner. Lots of people get sleepy if they eat too much. HTH.

Hi Sterling! YIPPEEE for your success!

Gee, I couldn't stuff that many cals in at dinner on UD for the world!!!

I think eating 2 eggs & 3 oz protein for UD breakfast has helped me get my cals in. I fast on 400 cals DD, but usually don't eat anything after 2:00 pm on DD, so I am ready for a breakfast. Also, I can't stand to exercise on a full tummy, so I try and get my UD dinner in by 5:00 pm, so that I can do my run and elliptical in. Also, if you get to the end of your dinner and have not made your cals, try having a greek yogurt with berries, macadamia nuts, or even coco crack! That will up your cals without feeling like a stuffed pig!

I also wanted to say that I have not experienced the sleepiness yet, in fact, I am having the opposite problem. I am so energetic, that I need a glass of wine or mag by 9:00 pm or I will never get to sleep early enough.

I lOVE LOVE LOVE the energy that I have on JUDDD. It is as if I have shaved 30 years off and feel like I did at 20!

Agree here ! One large meal (think Thanksgiving) would make most of us sleepy, especially me. I have to eat throughout the whole day be it DD or UD or I feel too full and sleepy, as you are saying.

You are seriously staring down the throat of that new century! How excellent!
I'm glaring at a new decade today. I know better than to try to entice it with sweetness

When your body goes to work at digesting a lot of food it puts some systems more toward dormant, makes you sleepier. Post Thanksgiving dinner nap anyone?
I get tired at the end of down days but struggle to go to sleep. Maybe the FREEZING of dd is keeping me up?

On DD, I have to take "natural calm" about 9:00 pm or I will be staring at the ceiling for hours. DD is so wonderful but also some magic is happening!

You might want to have more of a "brunch" type meal in the AM- at your normal breakfast time, but eat as if the menu is "brunch" (McDonald's big breakfast with egg, sausage, hash brown, pancakes, butter and syrup has over 1000 calories- I don't recommend THAT breakfast, but just using it to illustrate that you CAN get a lot of calories in breakfast). That may help you get your calories in, earlier. I know if I don't start out with a bunch of calories on my UD, I won't fit them all in. And if I eat too many breakfast and lunch calories, oh well. I would rather be challenged to figure out how to put together a dinner for 200 calories at the end of my UD, than to try to figure out how to cram 1500 calories in before bedtime, and bedtime is in two hours. (Been there, done that!) Good luck! I'll be trying to eat a big breakfast tomorrow, too!
