First DD under my belt and I'm a wee bit cranky...

So I think I'll just go to bed!

On the plus side, I had my first small banana in 3 years and I didn't die or anything, so there's that!

:congrats: on your first day!!

I'm finishing up a 500 calorie DD and I feel so peaceful and relaxed. Have felt that way all day. It really does get easier. Experiment with when to eat and what to eat on DDs. Everyone is different.

Congrats on that banana! Bet it tasted wonderful!:jumpjoy::jumpjoy::yummy:

Enjoy your well-deserved UD tomorrow!! (you can have more banana!:hyst:):sing:

My first DD I was SO CRANKY. I even posted here about hating counting calories! LOL

It does get better.

Congratulations!! Today you get to eat. Yay!!

kimberino 03-27-2012 05:24 AM

Thanks everyone! Truth be told, I was probably more cranky about having to sort through my 15 year old daughter's closet than being hungry lol. She's such a slob.

On to my UD. I'm looking forward to a little bit of potato...and more bananas as well. Still fighting the urge to keep carbs out of the plan, but baby steps.

And welcome to your up day!!:jumpjoy:

Isn't it fun when we eat our first "forbidden" foods and see we still live?

Enjoy today.

Hi Kim, yesterday was my first day, did it as a DD and it was actually easier than I thought. I love bananas but have portion control issues (I could eat the entire bunch in 1 day!!) so they stay out of the house. Apples are much better with me, portion controlwise.

I hate gutting out my kids closets, mostly my 15 year old son, he's autistic and uses his closet as a reading nook of sorts, no clothes in there just Tons of books, and assorted toys. He is good at putting his stuff away for the most part but once every month or so he has to go crazy in the closet with his stuff. :dunno:

Hi Becky -

Looks like we're in this together!

Portion control will be an issue for me as well, as I'm just coming off 3 years of Atkins, where I ate like a pig! And it's probably why I'm having so much trouble with being stuck at my current weight. Decided I HAVE to start watching the calories and JUDDD looked like the ticket.

Can't wait to see how great you do!

Kim

Hey Kim! I did Atkins on and off for months at a time, by the book, and never lost anything past my first 2 weeks loss (usually 5-10lbs.), yeah, I ate like a little carnivour piggy, portion control is a big issue with me. I think calories were my big issue....hope so anyways. When I was doing Weight Watchers I always lost weight but was STARVING!!! Even on my first DD yesterday I was only a little hungry in the afternoon, but 2 baby carrots handled that. I'm making lists of good low calorie/low carbish food for down days, I didn't realize what a lifesaver cabbage is going to be! Luckily I love cabbage. The DD recipes and food porn threads are very helpful and motivating. :yummy:

We're in this together! We can do it!!! hey, I just looked at your stats...you're doing AWESOME!!!!!!

:jumpjoy::jumpjoy::jumpjoy: So happy for both of you! Becky & Kimberino will both be JUDDD pros soon!

I am another one who didn't realize how much I would come to love DD!!! My house sparkles and closets are organized because who knew how much time eating, cooking & dishes eat up when you are feasting!!! :stars:
