JUDDD: Inches report
 
Ok Thought I would start a new thread on inches lost. I dont hold much faith in the scale! I weigh myself for giggles really. But I have always looked at it like this. I am the only one who sees the scale number. But really its the inches everyone sees. So I thought maybe some would like to join me in tracking our inches lost.

I will go first.

3/15/12 (first day of JUDDD for me)(I only measure left side and I measure once a week on saturdays!)

Calves: 15 1/4
Thighs: 24
Butt: 43
Stomache: 41 1/2
Arms: 13 1/2



3/24/12

Calves: 15
Thighs: 23 1/2
Butt: 41
Stomache: 41
Arms: 13


Not bad for 9 days on JUDDD!!!! I really cant wait to see the one month mark!!!

Great idea! And great losses, Katie! :clap:

JUDDD is great at whittling away the inches. :jumpjoy:

And I also think the scales - she is FICKLE - and heavily influenced by water, salt, sleep (or lack of), hormones, etc. and so on. So the tape measure is a better friend. :D

Nobody but you (this "you" being me, this person, that one, everyone) sees the number on your scale. Nobody is gonna look at you at work in the morning and say "Oh, you're up a pound!" They see the OVERALL PICTURE of you, not all the flaws you imagine they see. And you know you are on a fat-burning woe that will eventually get you where you wanna go. So let's stop giving the scales so much power over our moods. :high5:

I will post some tape measure stats later when I run across them again, lol.

Great Thread. i will post my results on Monday when I do my second weigh in (only weigh monthly) . I did measure when I started low carbing in Dec. but haven't measured since. I started JUDDD the end of January. I didn't take as many readings as u did but i will start doing that.

great idea.. i know now due to my pants are looking funny i need to watch closely the inches report. i plan to measure my self today and join in.. i dont know if every day is somthing i can do, but i can certainlly measure every other day and report here, i would love to watch my numbers fall!! ill post my start here later today:) one thing i know is, in november i was a 44 waist , was goin to start curves workout, but today i put on my hubbys 36 inch pants!

Good thread. My pants are looser on me today than 2 weeks ago. I had to keep picking up my pants yesterday while doing Zumba!

I only measure on Saturdays!! Once a week to track my progress. It gives me a small satisfaction because the tape measurer doesnt bounce lol!!!!

Wtg everyone on your inches losses so far!!! Its always great when your clothes fit you like they should!!!

I only take two measurements. My natural waist and my "belly" - the maximum circumference around my abdominal region.
The other day it was 34.5 for waist and 38 for belly. The last time I measured (and I have no idea when, but it's been a long, long time) it was 36 waist and 41 belly.

I sure wish I had done measurements before January when I started here!

I will measure on April 1 and tell all!

I too only step on the scale once a month!

I can tell you all that I was a size 12 on January 1 and now am wearing a 8! Oh, must tell also that the 8 is a Lee's jeans!

I started measuring last week, of course have the stats at home. But I measure same day as weigh in, Monday mornings. I have lost about .5 inch in most areas. So JUDDD and exercise do work :sing:

I started measuring in August 2011. Below are my measurements since then, when I'd already lost some weight and inches. I was still on LC from back in late June.

Sept. 14, 2011:

WEIGHT: 153#
waist: 29"
bust: 37"
hips: 41"
thighs: 37"

I started JUDDD a month later, but had quit exercising by then.

Reached goal weight (145#) on Oct. 31 (would have been there a week earlier, but I started overdoing my calories by hundreds and went back up the scale) *face palm*.

Nov. 16, 2011 (in maintenance):

WEIGHT: 144#
waist: 28-1/2"
bust: 37"
hips: 39-1/2"
thighs: 36-1/2"

January 4, 2012 (still losing weight in maintenance):

WEIGHT: 140#
waist: 28"
bust: 37"
hips: 39"
thighs: 36"

I have measured since then and lost more weight and inches, but I'm not at home so I don't have those measurements with me. I will measure again tomorrow when I'm home.

I was curious tonight and measured again, just for giggles......so excited!!!

Still losing random measurements and just so happy about this. The weight was the same this am, but as long as the tape measurer is moving the scale can say what it wants!!!!!

Decided to take measurements again although I wasn't expecting to lose more, but I have! :) Keep in mind, I bounce up and down between 136# and 140# all the time since Jan. 1st, and I'm in maintenance. I don't do exercise except a couple minutes of gentle bouncing on the rebounder and regular daily activity.

I have three sets of numbers here, although I only measured my "problem" areas-

Beginning of weight-loss:
5/2011:
188 pounds (probably more like 190-something. I had quit weighing at 188)
Waist-34"
Hips-41 1/2"
Right Thigh- 25 1/4"
Left Thigh- 25 1/2"

Bust was 38D
Size 14 (tight)
Body fat per Tanita-40%

End of Atkins fiasco (sorry, that's what it was for me)
11/2011:
156 pounds
Waist-32"
Hips-40"
Right thigh-24"
Left thigh-24"

Bust was 38D
Size 10 (Tight)
Body Fat per Tanita-36%

I began JUDDD at this point, getting into healthy carbs, and really enjoying life:

Today: (4.5 months on JUDDD)
3/2012:
132.6 pounds
Waist-27"
Hips-35 1/4"
Right Thigh-20 1/4"
Left Thigh-20 1/4"

Bust is 34C
Size 4 (getting loose)
Body Fat per Tanita- 23%:cool:

Now, tell me that JUDDD isn't the best? My numbers right there tell the truth.

I finally measured this week and have lost 5 inches from bust, 5 from waist and 5 from hips since i started on Dec. 29 2011. Those were the only readings i took when I started but this time I also recorded thighs and calves and arms to compare next month.

Dawn, I have decided to do the same thing! I just find it hard to measure myself - is the tape measure in the same place? Am I pulling the tape measure too tight? Let me measure that again because it can't possibly be right.....:laugh:

Measurements do count.

Especially when it seems like nothing is working and you need confirmation that it is. :up:

I only lost 1lb for the month of March and felt like :cry:

Yet my hips went down -2.5inches. :jumpjoy:
I'm firmly into a pair of pants that I could barely get over my hips at the beginning of the month.

Although I do have measurements from all over I tend to more regularly check my hips because they are...... ummm... very curvy.....to put it mildly:hyst:

They mean the difference between something not fitting or fitting. :o

I wish I'd started measuring back when I first started the weight loss journey (not JUDDD but just lower carb) back in June 2011, but the first time I measured was August 4, 2011. At that point, I was on LC, and I'd already lost at least 12#, so who knows what my measurements were when I was at my biggest. :stars: Anyway, I thought I'd put my total inches lost below so people can see where I sorta started from:

August 4, 2011:

WEIGHT: 158#
waist: 32"
bust: 42"
hips: 43"
thighs (together): 40"

Started JUDDD Oct. 12, 2011.

March 29, 2012

WEIGHT: 137#
waist: 27-1/2"
bust: 36"
hips: 38-1/2"
thighs: 36"

It's even more than I thought, when I look at how far I've come! :jumpjoy:

4/1/12--Here goes.

I have no idea if I measured accurately, but picked the largest part of each measured area. I made sure the tape measure was not pulled tight, just resting on the skin without pulling it in.

Should bust be measured with or without a bra? I measured without, but nothing was where it's supposed to be without one. :hyst:

(R) Bicep: 13.5
(L) Bicep: 14
Bust: 44
Ribcage: 37
Waist: 43
Hips: 48
(R) Thigh: 27
(L) Thigh: 27.5

There was a time I would wear DHs medic pants which were a 50" or 52" waist, and they fit, so I imagine that's about what my largest waist size was.
