I started JUDDD on March 23, and as of this morning I'm down 6 lbs.

I was momentarily confused when I stepped on the scale earlier and saw the number 87.4. Turns out I had accidentally set the scale from lbs to kg.

Dh and I both started Jan 1.

I have lost 14 lbs (from 240 to 226) and dh has lost 24 lbs (from 259 to 235).

I am a very slow loser. At my best on LC, I lost 30 lbs in one year. So, on JUDDDD I'm actually doing better.

Neither one of us does JUDDDD perfectly....had a few up up and away days, and a few failed down days. It is getting easier and more routine now, though.

Good job on sticking with it.
Thanks. I feel like it HAS to work because I refuse to go back to LC! I can't live like that any longer... and I wasn't losing. I did have a week or two here and there where I fell off. Maybe that set me back really badly.

Oh and I am about 5'7". Did you make your goal?

What incredible losses I am seeing here. I can't comment on each and every one but they are truly impressive.

Even the slow losers are losing, and we can eat what we wish half of the time. We can eat at our friends and families home's with ease, High days and Holidays present no serious problems.

Got to love JUDDD.

This a great thread! I haven't started juddd yet, just reading through the forum but will start juddd soon for sure.

To everyone who isn't losing as fast or as much as others: as some others have mentioned already: everybody is different and works different. AND: it also matters about how much you have too loose, if there are only a couple of pounds it will take longer, because the body is prepared too store fat for safety and time in needs. That's because of the early days, when people didn't had that much food to eat, like we have nowadays. But from what I have read so far, the weight comes off, sooner or later! yay

my philosophy is... losing slow? its still a go....

Didnt go on overnight... certainly wont come off overnight either.
I have done well the last couple of weeks.. but I KNOW it will slow down as I lose....
So I will prepare myself....

Hugs to all
K

True. I lost 30 pounds in 6 weeks in 2003 doing LCLF. Didn't work this time so I tried Atkins 72. Didn't work either so I am here SLOWLY losing that same 30 pounds.

ive read and read about people saying the same thing. most people think you are doing something wrong but...
this last time i was STICK eating as close to zero as possible and MUCH closer to zero as i did the first time. you always loose that quick 10 or so "water" but then it just didnt do much.
i would exercise an hour a day and hit the 20 pounds and then it would just stop totally.

they were calling it the Low Carb Golden Shot lol

My first UD was Thursday, 2/9, and my starting weight the next day was 180.6. My weigh in last Friday was 168.6. That's 12 lbs. Lost most of it in the next 3/4weeks. I've stayed pretty steady the past 2/3 weeks and hope to start dropping again soon. I need to pay closer attention to UD cals.

Weigh ins:
2/10 180.6
2/17 176.8
2/24 173.8
Missed a week
3/09 171.6
3/16 169.6 (I believe)
3/23 170.6
3/30 168.6

Oh and I am about 5'7". Did you make your goal?
Interesting you say you seem to lose better when you up the DD calories some, because that's what some others have noticed to after they've been JUDDDg for some time without great results. It seems there is a "sweet spot" of calories.... too much and we maintain or gain.... too little and the body panics and shuts down the loss of its precious fat stores. So finding that middle ground is quite wonderful and sometimes involves getting to eat more calories. Especially if you are still feeling like you're starving on DDs after being on JUDDD since Nov. We all get some DDs like that, often due to hormones, where we want to eat down the house. But if the majority of your DDs are like that, I say try raising the calories for a while and see how it goes. Sometimes it's also the types of foods we eat on DDs too. For example, a person who needs high protein wouldn't fare as well on a day full of carbs on DD, and vice versa. But you've been JUDDDg long enough, I'm sure you know well what kinds of foods you do best with. At any rate, I'm glad you're sticking with it and raising the DD calories sounds like it's doing you good.

Yes, I made goal. But I came to JUDDD with only 5# left to lose after a summer and fall on LC. I thought it would take me a long time to lose those last five pounds, but they flew off. My UDs were between 1700-1800 and DDs around 600 - 700. My height is 5 ft. 6 or a smidge over, and my goal weight at the time was 145#.

I decided to go into maintenance on Nov. 12 and have been there ever since. I often mix things up by doing a variation of MUDDD and Fast 5. Now and then I go back to regular JUDDD. I've lost more weight in maintenance while eating more calories than I used in weight-loss mode.

I encourage you, SJ - you are doing well. It's no race. I appreciate your patience.

Oh, and one other thing to think about, but you probably already have, is that maybe you are at the weight your body wants you to be for your height. I know we all have different builds and bone size, so there are tall people who look great at a low weight, and shorter people who look their best at a higher one. So I can't say for you, only you know this, and I don't mean to intrude on your business I just thought I'd bring that up in case you hadn't considered it is all.

KUTGW!
