I just started JUDDD this past Monday 03/19/12 and I couldn't stand it anymore so I weighed myself this morning and I was shocked. I have been losing a lot of water though.

03/19/12 - 240.2
03/23/12 - 234.0

-6.2 lbs.

WOE: PersonalPlan
Start Date: Nov.20, 2007 (restart)
Well I began JUDDDing about 2 years ago around summer I think. I lost about 45lbs on it. I had been perpetually stuck in the 270s - 280s up and down, no matter what I did, I couldn't budge it. I finally was losing weight between the JUDDD and the IF. And I got down as low as 236lbs

Then my mom developed lung cancer and went home and I fell into a IDGAD (idontgiveadamn) funk for awhile. Eating everything in sight but still maintaining my weight loss.

As you all know, I took a "slight break" to have breast cancer. *snort* Big fun that break! But I began the I-HAVE-CANCER-AND-CAN-EAT-ANYTHING-I-WANT Potato Chip, Pizza and Wine Diet and rapidly re-gained 40lbs. Back up to 276 at the doctor for my first cancer consult. I got a dirty look and a lecture as part of the visit and was told that being fat was bad enough. Being fat, having T2 diabetes at that point was worse. But gaining weight AFTER a cancer diagnosis was just about the same as buying the coffin and keeping it in the living room. It was a sure bet I would need it in the near future.

So...fast forward almost a year now...I'm through with treatment. I've been JUDDDing since January again...but only half heartedly. It's still tough to get back into the groove. During treatment I went from 276-236lbs. That's good cuz most people gain 10-20 lbs during breast cancer treatment.

Since January I'm up and down between 228lb and 231lbs. Today I'm at 231 and hoping I'm on my way back down. I have to get to 220lbs by May 22nd or else I will have to listen to another lecture from "The Man" - who is keepin the big girl down. (That's my oncologist.) I have a 6month check-up in May.

And that's my story! So I'm actually gonna claim my JUDDD victories and say I've lost from 280-231 on JUDDD, cuz with a few breaks, I really had. I still have about 100lbs left to go and miles before I sleep. *hic* *sob*

I started on 10/25/11 and have lost 16 lbs in 20.5 weeks so far. While there were 3 weeks in there where I completely went off of JUDDD (vacation, friends visiting), I'm definitely what most would consider a slow loser.

I'm ok with that though, because it doesn't seem slow to me. I mean, from beginning of June last year through late October when I started JUDDD (about 5 months), I lost a total of ZERO pounds doing strict vlc by itself, which I definitely wasn't new at. So this is pretty much cloud 9 for me! I haven't seen this weight since college and I've been really pushing my UD calories (and sometimes DD ones) way higher when I can to see what I can get away with and to sort of practice maintaining and ease into it, so I'm ok if it takes me a while to reach goal. The inches are still coming off in the places where it really counts, and I truly love this woe, so I'm as happy as can be.

for the people reading this and wondering. i just read everyones comments and notice one BIG thing. when the people are stating the loss, look at their starting weights. because some have smaller numbers, 15 or 20 pounds, but started at 140 or so... thats a really big loss. a lot of the larger people (like myself) have lost more. but the overall percentage is actually really really good and i think you could make the argument that its almost as fast at LC'ing! =)

For me, it's much faster than LC'ing. I was down to less than a pound/week on LC and have had much better results with JUDDD.

Love reading all these great reports, everyone!

Yep, I wish I'd come to JUDDD sooner, but I guess when I first heard about it, I assumed it wasn't as healthy as LC... Wish I'd known that JUDDD was all about health!!!

Anyway, I started JUDDD in October with 5# left to goal. I weighed 150# when I came to JUDDD.

I was losing so slowly on LC. It was taking me 3 - 4 weeks to lose a pound. So I thought I was looking at a long time to lose those last 5#, and besides, everyone always says the last 5# are hardest to lose.

Imagine my surprise when the weight fell off me on JUDDD!

But just as I was a pound from goal, I (for reasons still not clear to me ) I started eating hundreds of calories too many on my UDs and the weight started going back on.

If that had not happened, I would have been at goal in 2 weeks, maybe a bit less. But then I did some experimenting, worked out my "sweet spot" of UD calories, and stuck to them.

I reached goal by the end of October! Then I decided to lose a couple more pounds, and did, but decided to just not worry about losing more but to maintain around 145#.

So I started my official maintenance on Nov. 12. I started doing FD where I don't count calories on UDs, but eat at will - what I want, as much as I want. Which we know on JUDDD means not as much or what you think it will be!

Anyway, I eat more calories now than I did in WLM, and have continued to lose weight without trying. I now maintain between 136 and 140.

So altogether I have lost 14# on JUDDD (and MUDDD, other IF). NINE of those pounds were lost in maintenance when I wasn't even trying to lose.

I shake things up all the time with my version of Pirate Jenny's MUDDD, my "Fast 5" & other IF. ...low-moderate fat....and eating "healthy" foods 75+% of the time which lets me have real life and indulgences too I've reached my goals, improved my health & appearance, and enjoy my lifetime woe!

DH and I both started Jan 3, 2012. Since then, our stats are:

me: 3 Jan = 215
23 Mar = 192

DH: 3 Jan = 182
23 Mar = 162

DH cheats more than I do, but I'm still happy with what we've accomplished in 3 months -- we've both lost about 20 pounds each. Gotta love JUDDD!

And so glad OhioGuy (Jamie?) mentioned the percentages!!!

I've lost aroundd 15% of my weight - someone who starts at 150 and has lost 20lbs has nearly lost the same percentage - which is amazing when you have less weight to lose!!

Wow, this made me feel really good. I had not thought of it that way. Since my top weight, I've lost over 15% of my body weight, About 4% since starting JUDD. Thanks for suggesting that!

Love, love, love this thread. Such a motivation for me. I appreciate all the JUDDDers who have posted. I am so glad to be back; can't even remember why I left before but the important thing is that I am now back! My stats are way impressive but when I started I was holding on to some major fluid due to TOM and lots of sodium.

What a motivating thread-it is so great to everyone losing weight-yes at different paces but losing none the less-
I am a newbie to the plan began on 3/18 and to date have lost 3 pounds-that is AMAZING to me and I am just thrilled with it!! I will take a loss of ANYTHING every week with a big smile!!! I also have to say that the people on this board are the NICEST I have found anywhere-VERY supportive and always willing to help folks out. That, along with the promise of breaking a FOREVER stall, is what drew me to JUDDD!!

I started JUDDD a couple of years ago - maybe three years ago - I can't remember. Lost over 30 pounds, switched back and forth from other plans. Back on JUDDD at the end of last year. So, much easier as time goes on. This last week I upped my UD calories to 2000-21000 and lost two pounds. So amazing to me as I am hypothyroid, and 59.

Start Date: Aug 2011/I've been maintaining since April 2012
Started JUDDD Jan 13 at 132 (just 2 pounds to goal). Took what seemed like FOREVER to lose them, but got there beg of Feb or so.

Tried losing more and it just wasn't happening, so declared myself in maintenance mid-Feb. Since then, I was diagnosed with food allergies, eliminated the problem foods from my diet and lost 2 more pounds in the past couple of weeks.

So 4 pounds total since Jan 13. Contemplating losing a couple more, but really enjoying maintenance level dd's, so not sure if it's worth it or not.

WOE: JUDDD!!!
I'm about half way through my second year on JUDDD. For the most part I've followed my rotation, only pausing and setting JUDDD aside when I'm on a vacation or trip or something like that. Otherwise, I stick pretty well to it.

I'm pretty happy with my overall weight these days. I was obese. I don't get into numbers, but I was terribly unhappy. I had been a slim woman until I entered my 50's. And then I started gaining. And gaining.

I couldn't lose weight doing straight low carb, and I spent plenty of time following it to the letter too! I lost water weight, but not much body fat. But I stuck with it, for the most part, for quite a few years. I'd eaten Cabbage Soup and Mayo Clinic, and a few plans where you had these lists of foods that needed to be eaten on certain days and in particular orders, or at certain times of the day but never paired with some other foods, etc. Oh, and Lean for Life. Can't forget that one. But I kept trying the low carb Atkins plan, mostly. Occasionally I'd break with it, as I thought it was the most restrictive eating plan I'd ever had to adhere to, but nothing much worked. All I seemed to manage to do was hold to it long enough to really make myself increasingly sensitive to carbs!

I did finally lose quite a bit by general *dieting*. At about 1200 / 1300 or so calories daily. So I wasn't faced with the restriction of a food list of forbidden foods that included most of the foods in the world (it seemed to me), but instead.. I was faced with the restriction of never actually being able to eat much of anything, anywhere, ever. There weren't enough calories to cover much of anything. But I lost some weight.

And I sort of got used to it, but I think the worst thing that happened was that as I kept eating few calories, every day forever, my metabolism slowed down and down even more than it had been before. So it was hard to eat much more without gaining weight. So, this way I'd managed to make my metabolism increasingly sensitive to calories apparently!

I don't quite remember if I was doing much of anything when I first started JUDDDing. Maybe back eating low carb. I don't really remember.

But JUDDD worked. I remember losing weight so fast at first that it was amazing. Well, of course that didn't last for a long time, and then I just settled in, losing one pound a week or maybe sometimes two pounds a week, or maybe a week with no loss at all.

But I felt like I'd finally found a plan that allowed me to eat any foods I wanted to include, where I could actually enjoy half of my days not dieting at all, but instead... eating a whole lot of calories of my chosen fabulous foods! Well, you know all about that.

I'm pretty happy where I am now. Not real skinny at this age of my life like I was as a young woman, but not obese anymore either. And maintaining happily. And so, getting to eat pretty much how I want on Down Days too. I keep my rotation going.

As JUDDD has laid out, Up Days are a little higher than true maintenance calories, and Down Days are lower. So even in maintenance it all averages out to be the correct number for maintenance, but it manages to keep the piston pounding up and down between the calorie ceilings. Except the numbers are just higher in maintenance than during weight loss mode.
