What don't you count?

I thought there was another thread about this but I'm scatter-brained today and can't find it.

I don't always have coconut oil in my coffee, but I never count the calories.
Same with the 2 brazil nuts I eat every day (for the selenium).
I don't count fiber calories in things like glucomannan powder, shrataki noodles or oat fiber.
I don't count coffee calories.
Or mustard.
lol - how about you?

I think coffee is the only thing I don't count. I definitely count the coconut oil. I measure the half and half in my coffee and count that.

hmmmmmmmmm....I don't count ice cubes!!!

I count everything. That way I don't bother adding little odd and ends since I don't want to have to go to the trouble of counting them. Helsp keep me on the straight and narrow.

Hmmmm.... a thought provoking thread. I guess I don't count a lot of things. But I do deduct about 100 calories a day off my allocation for the day for things I don't count like coffee, supplements and spices.

I do count coconut oil, all oils, butter, and bacon grease. But I don't count the calories in squirts of spray like PAM.

I do count nuts, HWC, and cheese, even if it is a tablespoon or so.

But I don't count the things in my spice cabinet. I know they have calories, but I can't get quite that detailed. Cinnamon, vanilla, extracts, curries, etc.

I don't count artificial sweeteners that aren't in baked good.

i don't count supplements.

I do count ketchup, but not mustard or vinegar.

Come the day when I am maintaining instead of weight loss mode, I will probably be much looser in my counts!

I don't count water, vitamins, cooking spray, and spices. Even Splenda gets counted, 4 cals per pack.

Otherwise, the calories can get away from you, and you're left wondering what the heck happened to that JUDDD magic...

By the way, coconut oil has 120 cals per tablespoon.

I don't count coconut oil because everything I've read points towards coconut oil being used as a catalyst for other fat burning as well as a source of direct (not stored) energy. It took a lot of reading to convince me lol.
I also only use 1-2tsp when I remember to use it

True on the coconut oil, Dottie.

I'm just a prissy little stickler, and even if it burns off, it's still gone in, so I count.

lol I don't mean to "preach" to anyone, that's just my thinking Also, I rarely use more than 1-2tsp and I've found that if I wait and add that to my coffee in the afternoon, it seems to work as an appetite suppressant as well, so another reason (for me) to remember to use the danged stuff!

Another Virgo here. And I count EVERYTHING. I have Altoid's mini mints that are 1/2 a calorie for one--yes, I count those too, but I'll usually have two so I can count it as one calorie.

I count my water, because I track how many ounces I drink.

I count my serrano peppers which are 2 calories for a whole pepper.

I count spices, tea, coffee, on and on and on.

I won't even touch coconut oil on a DD because I would be compelled to count it and that's a huge hit. Even if the research is right and the calories don't "count," I would HAVE to count them.

Whew, sometimes it's rough being me.

I don't count:

*Coffee or tea, unless they are flavored and have a cal/carb count on the box.
*Coconut oil (but I usually only have a tsp. in coffee - sometimes)
*Spices (including cocoa powder since I don't usually use alot)
*Sweeteners
*Lettuce

I'm quite sure there's some other things, but can't think of them right now.

Kissa - I remember the first time I tried CO I went for a tablespoon thinking people must be joking. They weren't! I started off with just a half a teaspoon and built up.

When I was low carb, I'd eat the CO right off the spoon, a tablespoon at a time. I never had any bad reactions, but it never really staved off hunger or anything for me either. I still cook with it sometimes on UDs.

That would be dangerous for me . . . .

I don't count my supplements.

Everything else I count. But I didn't know coffee had calories so I'll start counting that. And spices???? Really? I didn't realize they had calories either. Like sprinkling garlic & chili powder on my meat? Will have to look at that.
