Article: periodic fasting may cut risk heart disease and diabetes

I know we don't completely fast on JUDDD, but we come pretty close. Seems like there are a lot of health benefits

Thanks for posting these, BJ! I'll read them today. And I agree, though most of us don't do complete fasts on DD, we eat so very few calories on DD compared to the average 2000 calorie diet! The body is basically fasting. I like to think my ancestors would have eaten *something* every day even on the days of the unsuccessful hunt ... you know, gnawed on some twigs and leaves, pulled up a handful of grass... chomped some bugs.... hopefully get some calories from somewhere. Even if it's not an accurate comparison to my DDs, lol.

Oh, and not that I'd ever want or need to know this (I hope!), but out of curiosity I looked it up, and 100 g. of crickets is 120 calories. lol. 12.9 grams of protein, 5.5 g. of fat, 5.1 g. of carbohydrates. It's the same amount of calories as in 2 fried eggs or 1/2 cooked chicken breast.
