I cannot beleive it!!!! stick to your DD and UD calories

I posted a while ago that I had been eating 1500 and 500.

The UP days were too low.

I input my information on the JUDDD website gave me 1978 and 396.

Sunday I ate 2100 calories (This was sooooo hard...lol) (Included McD's Breakfast Platter and Olive Garden dinner, Lunch was 100 calories of Strawberries.)
Monday I ate 340 calories (I had planned to eat the 396, but I made dinner too spicy thus I only hate half of my dinner.)

Today.... I am at my lowest of lows!!!!!! 182 and I am on my period which means I am retaining water anyways.

Yay, I get to update my weight profile!!!!!

Okay JUDDD BUDDDS EAT YOUR CALORIES ON UP and keep your DD as low as you can handle it.

Yup.

I'm awfully happy for you. You're having some nice success now, and I think you can expect it to continue.

I'm one who thinks the numbers are actually fairly important, and if you aren't going to do them, that must actually be some other diet plan you are following. LOL

I always think a person needs to prove the numbers won't work for them by sticking to them accurately for awhile before deciding to lower them, and you have shown how wonderfully the numbers work for you now. Congratulations!

Finding the right calories for your metabolism is not always easy.

BELIEVING those calories is sometimes even harder.

Congratulations for having the courage to be a believer!

so not eating enough calories on your up days could be bad news? keeping calories a little lower on your up days could be counter productive?

I'd say that yes, that is true most of the time. Most people here do better by meeting or even exceeding their prescribed calorie limits on UDs.

Yes, I think it was sohappy that suggested that my Ud cals at 1500 were way too low... I was not using my up days in an efficient manner. Your body is to use these calories to boost metabolism.

Down days are fat burning days, thus low calories are neede to tell your body to use the stores.

The extreme difference in the calories makes the sirt 1 gene wake up and work like magic.

I was losing weight but not 2 whole pounds in two days. I was losing about half of a pound.

I have not had Any trouble eating my newly appointed 1978 Ud calories. I love cheese, butter, and nutella.

I also am very very good about finding filling dd meals because of low carbing.

Stick to the numbers from Juddd calculators.

I am back on JUDD again and happy to be here. I need about 1100 calories a day average to lose. Currently I am having 650 on my DD's and 1500 on my UD's. That averages to 1135/day over 7 days. I am going to "try" to get down to 600/day if I can. Easy does it, then up my UD's a little. I can gain weight on 1500/day for sure so have to be really careful. Also I keep my carbs at 80 or less. This week is a test so keeping fingers crossed.

I have no real experience to share, having stayed right around my numbers from the beginning, thanks to the "experts" who repeated over and over to "respect the numbers".

But I CAN say that I'm losing quite well on 1850-2000/400-500. I'm averaging two pounds a week. I won't be tweaking any time soon!!!

This is the way I think of it:

Any time the calories from your previous meal are used up to a certain level, and the next meal does not pull the calories up enough or you skip the next meal, your body assumes IT'S A FAMINE! and goes to defcon 4 - caloric stress response.

AAAOOOGAH! AAAOOOGAH! Release the sirtuin enzymes squigglies! Initiate preferential fat-burning! Do all those health-improving things! Prepare the body to a-hunting we will go! a-hunting we will go! we'll catch a mammoth or some tasty green beans, a gobble the whole row!

DD starts a lot of really wonderful and good processes in our bodies. But when defcon 4 begins, we are roughly 40 hours away from, defcon5 - the dreaded starvation mode. Sloow metabolism, hold on to fat (we may need it when things get really bad), start burning muscle for energy, all kinds of less-than-healthy things.

We don't want to go to defcon 5. We want to replace AAAOOOGAH! AAAOOOGAH! with 'Just chill, man. The defcon thing is a drag. Stop it. Everything's groovy."

What stops the escalation? Eating enough food.

The trouble is how much food is enough to shut down the emergency? The calculated calories on the website are based on averages. As averages they work for most of us.

But every bell-curve has it's high and low exceptions.

A few of us find we gain weight if we eat to the calculated UD calories and, after experimenting, learn we need to eat below the calculated calories on UDs in order to turn off defcon escalation (gain a little weight today, lose a lot tomorrow - everything's groovy).

More of us either can't / don't want to eat that much or are still a bit in the low-cal mindset so we try lower cals. And stall. Maybe even start feeling bad because we have slipped into or very near to starvation mode. Definitely NOT groovy.

Mariacj is one of those exceptionals. To get chill on UD, she has to nosh more on UDs.

It's all so simple. Just think of it as thermonuclear war and it all makes perfect sense .

JUDDD cares about calories. JUDDD does not care what you eat. Your body probably does.

Mini Turkey Lean Meatloafs sound amazing.... might need to make some of those.

I had a large UD Yesterday.... Costco Hot Dog, Banana, two fried eggs, Pasta, Toast with Nutella.... and I am the same weight I was from the Previous DD.

I like both of my Eating days for different reasons.

I am sitting at 180 calories. and have about 200 for dinner... then tomorrow I want Panera.

This WOE Rocks!!!!
