Something I would have never done before...

...on a diet.

This Thursday at work is Navajo Taco Day! I would have NEVER even thought about getting on if I was on a diet, but last week, I saw the sign and thought, "I'm goin' for it!" It's a UD for me, so it's natural!

I LOVE JUDDD!!

Anyone else have one of these moments? I'd love to hear about them!

Come on...no one? I have a hard time believing that... I know at least Sophie can jump in on this one. We are a lot alike with what we like to eat (and how).

Oh definitely! Every holiday, just about every dinner-out event or every time I want to eat something out of the ordinary or try new things or fancy gourmet meals or even just to eat something I used to love that I had stopped eating for dieting purposes...all of that is never off limits anymore.

My boss wanted to take us out for Vietnamese food. Previously, that would've been a complete no-no because the only thing I want there isn't what I could have. But now, I thought to myself, wow, I love pho, and somebody's offering to pay for the meal too.

I've also been having wine or champagne from time to time and that's been so wonderful because I had stopped drinking at all for a long time. Now as long as I fit it in under my calorie limits, it's all good.

Yes I'll gain a few water weight pounds from these types of things, but it always goes down. I love it.

Oh yes!! I have had that many times the feeling "hey, I can do that" on UD with JUDDD. I especially like it when I am eating my lunch and others at work are drinking there diets drinks or eating just salad every single day. I only do the salad or "light" every other day.

I just stay within my calorie limits (or have tried to, some days not so good). I just starting week 3 and this is the easiest plan and WOL I have ever done. I can see myself doing this permanently.

Yes to the wine for me as well! So nice to not take it out because it's too many calories. I enjoy it so much!

Did you have the pho? That stuff is so good! I also love vietnamese egg rolls....

I can't think of just one specific instance, but this is my every UD! I just get to eat what I want, without worrying about the consequences.

Well, yes yes...of course! Like the time I ate 4 cadbury eggs. Or the time(s) I ate a whole box of my butter almond thin cookies...

Yesterday included a molten lava cake with ice cream (I couldn't have it the night before!) for breakfast and two bowls of samoa ice cream after dinner. Ahem....

I'm so happy to hear this! I feel the same way. Isn't it great? I've never felt this way before about a "diet."

Saturday evening @ DD's house: Her hubby brought tons of Chinese take out from Panda Express. OMGosh! I love their food! It was an UD for me. DD popped open a bottle of Chardonnay because we both love that. I filled up on beef with brocolli, sweet and sour pork, mardarin orange chicken, green bean chicken and even had a huge egg roll with dipping sauce, some fried rice and noodles (can't recall what those are called but they have cabbage in them and are oh, so delicious!!

Yesterday was a MD because I needed today to be an UD. Baked a Sicilian thin crust pizza and had that with Old Vines Zin.

OMGosh! Is this a diet??? And, I'm losing weight and inches!!!

Me too! Today is another UD. I've just started keeping a running total on a note pad on the kitchen counter. It hit me when I got to 900 total a little while ago that when I was following a daily 1200 calorie diet things were so different. I would get to that 900 point and think. OH NOOOOOOO! I'm already at 900 and have not even had dinner!!!!!Panic

Today I thought differently. My UD limit is 1900. I wrote down the 900 total and thought WOW!!! I still have 1000 left and it's already near 5 p.m.!!! Woooo-Hooooo! Break out the Chardonnay!!!

Hello my fella denizen of debauchery

Good for you on getting to take part in Taco Day!

I just read through all these posts, and LOVE every one of them!

Wow, I have sooo many of those moments!

Something I never would have done on a diet.... Eat a Big Mac Value Meal. Bacon, avocado cheeseburger with mayo ON A BUN. Pizza (any kind) and potato chips. Fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, mac and cheese, and any other desired side dishes.

Gosh, it never ends! And I better stop before I make myself hungry, lol.

Seriously, there are so many kinds of diets one could do, from vLC to low fat, but when you think that nothing in the whole world is off limits on JUDDD, it boggles the mind at first! Sometimes I still can't believe I lost and maintain my weight eating what I want so much of the time!

Almost every Saturday night at our favorite dance club! They make the BEST thin crust pizza and a bunch of us usually get one when the band takes a break. I use to eat just the toppings during my LC days, but now I EAT THE WHOLE SLICE (or 2! )

What Mint said....I've been doing that for years! (I still do it on a DD if I'm at my mom's or DD's, but nobody cares.)

I've had some wonderful guilt-free meals when there's food at my band's gigs. A couple of places have BBQ restaurants and now I don't feel guilty for eating the bun on my sliced beef sandwich, and maybe even FRENCH FRIES (gasp!). This week on Friday, we're traveling to Oklahoma to play the Winstar World Casino, and it's an UD. I'm sure I'll find something good to eat that day.

Every day, I'm so thankful and I feel so lucky that I found this WOE and all of you guys! This really is the best forum. What other "diet" forum has an entire thread devoted to Easter candy?

for me it was not feeling guilty on vacation, and eating what i wanted. Most days it was fish and fruit (and alcoholic drinks by the pool!!!) But there were a number of eating occasions where I ate desserts and bread and you name it. In the past, I would have this feeling of dread--knowing that when I got back from vacation, I would have to deal with 12 or 14 pounds, only 7 of which would be water from carbing up. NO WORRIES! I am on my second DD after vacation, and am peeing up a storm--and my clothes are fitting fine. What a relief to just enjoy myself without fear. I cannot tell you! Must be how normal people feel.

How absolutely lovely that sounds like it was! I love this post, ouizoid. There is a sense of how joyful life can be when food can be enjoyed without fearing it or being driven by it.

It's to be enjoyed and appreciated, and this plan seems to let us experience that and still modify our eating is a extremely healthful way. I can't say enough about how fun it is.
