Happy St Pattys Day!!!!

I had to change my rotation this week so i could celebrate st pattys day and im so excited for the day. There is going to be a big block party downtown with live bands and fun stuff to do. Im going out of town this morning, only about an hour away, to see my daughter and grand babys and take her to breakfast. Her birthday is coming up and she wants to go to golden corral breakfast buffet. Lord, help me!!! Then we are gonna head downtown about 1 this afternoon to enjoy the entertainment and maybe have a few green beers!!! I'm so excited for the day that i could barely sleep and ended up way too early. Now, im gonna go workout hard to help with some of the calories im gonna eat at the buffet!!!
The Belgium waffle is calling my name!!! I could hear it all night long, i think thats why i couldnt sleep...lol

Any plans for the day today?

Happy St. Patrick's Day to everyone as well.

No special plans here but I am making corned beef, potatoes, and *green* beans for dinner (no one here likes cabbage). For years I never touched the stuff then about 10 years ago I decided to try making it and lo and behold all my kids loved it as did dh and I. Now we have it several times throughout the year.

Funny story. I'm making a corned beef brisket and cabbage. I got a large one so I asked my mother if she would like me to take her some.
Conversation:
Mom: sure, I'd love to make a reuben!
Me: ok, do you want me to pick up some rye bread?
Mom: no, I don't like rye bread or that other one (pumpernickel), so just whole wheat.
Me: ok, need some swiss cheese?
Mom: no, I don't like swiss, I'll just use american cheese.
Me: ok. Any sauce?
Mom: no, I really don't like that crap they put on them, I'll just use mustard.
Me: Sauerkraut?
Mom: ugh no, gives me gas.
Me: ok mom. Anything else?
Mom: well if the brisket is salty, just don't worry about it, I'll use something else.
Me: (frustrated by this time) So basically you want a ham and cheese sandwich?
Mom: no, I want a reuben!

I fry bacon and fry the cabbage and onions in the bacon fat, then make mashed cauliflower (or potatoes) with buttermilk then stir the bacon, cabbage and onions into it.

Hilarious, and I can so relate.

Happy St. Patrick's Day! I'm not eating until dinnertime as per my usual DD schedule but it'll be MD calories today so I can celebrate with everyone else.

I had a great time yesterday!!! I ate way too much at golden corral breakfast buffet! But i knew i would. Then had a great time at the block party. Went to Old Chicago for dinner with my sister in law and brother and had a great time there too. Overall a wonderful day with friends and family.
The scale is up 5LBS this morning!!! I knew it would be. I also look like a body builder today. My muscles absorbed all of the carbs from yesterday. My arms look massive..lol I hate being puffy like this though. My face looks a little puffy too but i know that i will have a great DD today and the scale will be down 3 or 4 tomorrow and by the end of the week ill be back to my maintenance weight. Gotta Love JUDDD!!!!
