I ate so much food today!

Hello all--As with many others I have been lurking for a few weeks, pondering if I should make the jump from Atkins to JUDDD. Well, here I am. I was doing induction level Atkins faithfully since January 12-not a single slip and lost about 20 pounds, but then sat, and sat, and sat. This "was" my 2nd go at Atkins, after losing about 40 pounds a dozen years ago and then gaining it back. I am intrigued by the JUDDD routine, and even went out and bought some Resveratol, as Dr. Johnson recommended taking with this diet. (Totally non-related, I suffer from mild tinnitus, and a clinic recommended taking Resveratol and CoQ10 to help symptoms) Anyhow, after my first down day yesterday I weighed this morning and was down 2 pounds. Today was my first day of feasting and I am shooting for 1945 calories, which feels like a Thanksgiving dinner size portion of food. I am using ********* to log everything, but I admit I am scared to add more carbs in to what I am eating. I ended up with a very large percentage today in fats, but I think that is ok. I am curious enough to weigh tomorrow morning, but am not so frantic to let anything it shows bother me too much. I am feeling very much in control of my eating since starting LC in January and think this plan is going to be great for me. I love reading everybody's challenges and experiences and am starting to recognize certain posters who write a lot! Wish me luck--I am going to get into those old boxes of clothes yet!

WOE: LC&JUDDD
Start Date: 3/11 LC - 1/12 LC/JUDDD
I think the thing I love most about having eaten LC for a few years- 3 years straight a while ago, and 1 year recently- and now doing JUDDD is that I have learned a LOT about my body. And nutrition in general. After having watched Fat Head I don't believe I could go back to eating large amounts of carbs on a regular basis. They are treats for me, or a supplement to a meal, but NOT the whole meal. Except in RARE occasion. I have read the Atkin's book by Atkin's himself, and just this week read "The Alternate Day Diet." Both good reads. As I eliminate butter and oil from my diet a lot lately I am realizing that I truly ENJOY the taste of vegetables and other foods. Berries have always been my favorite fruit and I always ate them on Atkin's so I never felt bad about not eating apples, oranges and such.
I have learned so much about nutrition and why I hit a plateau by just doing Atkins alone. I NEVER thought I could cut cheese out of my diet... but I have cut a LOT out just by it not fitting in to my calories, and choosing to eat other things so that I don't "waste" all my calories on cheese. I still enjoy it sometimes and even made fruit and cheese platters for my BF and I the other night (mine was weighed) but it was fun to enjoy that with him, and a glass of wine!
The longer I do JUDDD the more I find that I am eating for NUTRITION purposes and not just because "I want to have THIS right NOW!" Or just because it is there. My relationship towards food has changed a lot! I have enjoyed some home made cookies since starting JUDDD, and plan to bake some other items I have missed for a while. But they will be reserved for special treats! I still enjoy a lot of LC "substitutes" but I ate them because I enjoyed them in the first place. I still buy my bread and tortillas LC, and don't feel the need to get "regular" ones. They are usually lower in calories too!
Good Luck going forward!
I know this WOE even if I don't do it FOREVER... (maybe I will) has most certainly changed how I look at food, and my relationship with food. It has truly been an eye-opener!!

It's working!

I can hardly believe it, but on day 4 (now an up day, yes!) I have dropped 3 pounds after my long Atkins stall. I think this is really something I can stick with, as I like the 'I can eat tomorrow' line!

Karinala! You are off to a magnificent finish!

Truffles, I totally agree. LC helped me learn a lot about nutrition. JUDDD, where I can and do 'test' a single food at a time, is teaching me so much about nutrition and about myself.
