Slow & steady -- to Goal!

I made it!! GOAL

Took me 3 1/2 months to lose 15.8 lbs, but here I am!

To be fair, I tiptoed into this WOE not really sure it would or could work.

I never ate up to my UD calorie levels (1652) except for a couple of times but I did go with my DD levels of 330 & make sure to go close to 1200 cals on UD's.

This gave me a steady loss each week even though several days would remain the same or sometimes show a small gain.

And although I stayed primarily low carb whole foods, in the past 3 months I have had more "treats" than in the last 2 years.

So although I never seemed to get that "juddd magic" going, I sure enjoyed myself & felt like I was living/eating normally again.

I don't post a lot, usually I'm too late checking the threads but I'm here cheering you all on. KUTGW & see y'all in the maintain lane!

Thanks.

Yes, I can't imagine any other way of eating now. Juddd just seems so natural, I eat anything I want on UD and the next day it seems I just automatically want/need less food. I don't preplan meals anymore, it seems on DD's I have an eggwhite & ham omlet in the pan without any conscious thought.

for our loss!!!

Not to take away from your wonderful loss at all but I want to add one thing; I would bet if you had eaten up to your UD calories you loss may have been faster. JUDDD is a WOE that works on a big calorie gap between 2 days. In your case that gap should have been the difference of 1352 calories, a nice gap for JUDDD to work it's magic. As you did it your gap was less than 870. In my opinion you weren't eating enough, especially when you look at it from another view; You were eating only 765 calories a day (you DD and UD calories added and then divided between 2 days). I can see you body going into a view that it needed to hold onto some weight because there wasn't enough calories to burn, especially if you did any kind of exercise.

It REALLY is true that on JUDDD you need to eat to lose. Pami just posted about this on a thread here: JUDDD site calculator.

That's fabulous news! Welcome to maintenance. It's amazingly easy on JUDDD, and you'll be surprised at how much you can eat and still keep the weight off. I push my limits gently and have had no problems.

Beeb, you are probably right:
But as long as I was still losing weight every week I just couldn't make myself chance a gain. I was/am happy with my slow & steady move toward goal. Although I was close several times over the years, it has taken me over 20 years to actually be able to say GOAL. (Thank you Juddd)

However, I now have enough confidence in Juddd & myself that I plan to up my calories until I start gaining & then back off to a little less than maintenance level. I am at the top of my normal weight range so still want to lose a bit more while I am in maintenance mode & this seems like a good time to see if a greater calorie spread will work the magic for me.

I think this is a great idea! I hope that you will continue to lose while upping your cals. I think you will since your average is so low now.

This sums up my feelings exactly Ccricket. I am now busy pushing my metabolism but upping my UD cals and keeping my DDs to around 500.

I am now 2 - 4 lbs under goal.
