JUDDD Low-Carb Style
Just wondering how many of you are doing JUDDD low-carb style? What do your typical UD and DD menus look like? Today is only my 2nd day

Lots of miracle noodle on dd with Gluconaman pudding
Updays have more baked low carb goods using Carbquik and such I don't go over 40 on dd and up days are no more than 100 carbs if I am being naughty. Mind you the carbs come from veggies and some fruits, but I keep real sugar intake to about a tbsp. |

Just eat your favorite LC foods on both days and count calories. No need to eat something different.
On down days, I do green beans, the cabbage/laughing cow cheese dish, atkins bars, handful of almonds, HB egg, etc. I just pick 2-3 thing I love and eat them while keeping cals under 500. On up days, I eat normal LC stuff and also watch cals. Pre-JUDDD I was overeating so now I make sure to portion out my single serving of the Coney Island Pie (for example) instead of freely eating 2-3 portions. ![]() |

On DD's I have about 200-250 cals in protein and then up to 200 in veggies. Cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, green beans, radishes, spinach, romaine, lettuces, green onions, mushrooms, etc.

I do moderate carb, aiming for fewer than 100 carbs/day, and most days are closer to 50. (Still fairly low compared to SAD)

I eat very low carb on down days, because I've found I need my carbs with fat and protein to not get bingey, and I can't afford to eat carbs AND fat AND protein on a down day.
On up days, I limit myself to about 30-40 grams of carb per meal and make sure I eat them with fat and protein. So, averaged over two days, I probably eat less than 70 grams of carb a day? Something like that. ETA - I just checked my dd shakes - each one I make has about 6 gms carb each. So I have under 20 grams of carb on down days, and about 120 or so on up days, so yeah, average of 70 per day. Last edited by LightlyStarched; 03-14-2012 at 08:23 AM.. |

I consider myself lower carb since I do eat low carb most of the time but have occasional days where I eat higher. Most of the time I actually eat the same exact things on DDs as I do on UDs, but I start eating around dinnertime on DDs and the portions are much smaller.

I do low carb and try to stay at under 20 in dd and under 30 on ud. I am scared to go higher as once I have bad carbs I binge.
I have started adding a bit of fruit this week and am doing well. I would like to work my way up to adding all fruits and whole grains eventually. I am still terrified of bread!!! I do eat Atkins bars for breakfast every day before my run (sometimes 2 on ud) and then meats and veggies. I also eat peanuts and peanut butter on my ud and am losing so much faster than on low carb alone. Good luck ![]() |

This was today's down day (4 carbs) for me:
DD (439) S/C/F/P/C = 1/4/.5/56/439 B: Glucomannan Hot Breakfast Cereal w/ almond milk, 1t coconut oil, 1t butter (103 cal) S: SF Blueberry & Sobe Fuji Apple Pear Glucomannan jello (0) L: 3 sl boiled ham (66) S: raspberry Glucomannan jello (0) D: Amy Lu Chicken Burger (150) S: Protein Shake Nectar Sweets (120) Recipes: Glucomannan Hot Breakfast 1/2 C Almond Breeze 1/2 C water 1/2 T glucomannan powder 1 pkt Splenda 1 tsp coconut oil 1 tsp butter Mix all but butter and oil in a Magic Bullet cup until smooth. Add more water if needed, depends how thick you like it. Remove blade and put into microwave for 1 minute. Spoon into a bowl and add butter and coconut oil. I love the almondy flavor. Some folks add SF Davinci Syrups for flavoring too. Raspberry Glucomannan Jello 1 C water 1-2 splashes SF DaVinci Syrup (I use any flavor for this) 1/2 tsp glucomannan powder Add all to Magic Bullet Cup and blend well. You can make them with SF instant pudding too. Pistachio is my favorite. Make gravy from chicken broth. Your imagination is the only think holding you back. |
