THANK YOU JUDDD BUDDDS

I would like to thank everyone here that helped me get my numbers right as well as alleviate the zero energy issue I was having.

If I had posted on the main forum I know what answers I would have received as I have done that in the past. Too many carbs, not enough carbs, too much fat, not enough fat, too much protein, not enough protein and on and on. No help, just conflicting opinions.

When I was asked if I was still following LC, my first answer was no until I looked at my eating patterns and I was (out of habit) actually doing LC and JUDDD. I am one of those that dragged around on LC for many years. I never had energy and I have trouble losing weight on high fat so my initial weight loss years ago was LF LC which worked well for weight loss but not energy.

Raised the carbs on DD as well as UD and my energy returned as well as the weight loss increasing. I also read somewhere about some people's bodies interpret VLC as starving and it looks like I may be one of those.

I have raised my DD and UD calories from 350/1750 to 500/1900 and my weight loss is steady and I am satisfied both days and have energy to spare. Although I have yet to add in much exercise.

THANKS JUDD BUDDS. This is probably the most suppoprtive group I have ever been associated with.

So glad to hear this great report, Adi! I'm another one who didn't lose great on vLC, but lost very well on JUDDD with higher carbs.

Wishing you continued success and energy!

That's really wonderful news! It just goes to show how we're all different and we just have to keep dinking around until we find something that works for US. Good job!

That is awesome!! I know what you mean about the main board. I dont even go there anymore. It messes with my head now!! I used to change my eating so much based on things i would read over there and i love how with JUDDD everyone just really tries to help and you dont get tons on conflicting info. That drove me crazy. I lost pretty well on VLC but would feel really horrible, no energy, horrible cramps, grumpy. I feel much better eating carbs and its so nice to have found a plan where i can eat carbs but not gain a ton of weight. I think really i still eat lowcarb based on what SAD says we should be eating but it feels high carb to me coming from 20 to 50 to now being 100 to 200 on UD's. But DD's are still under 50.

Adi, you said it... This is probably the most suppoprtive group I have ever been associated with.

After 11 years of Low Carb I still respect the principles, but the joy of eating freely of all foods has changed my life. I find joy in food and preparing it once more.

And the 10 pounds I could never keep off are gone, along with 3 or so more.

Thanks to JUDDD

It's great that you've found what works for you. I agree....this is a wonderful group here. I wish I had stumbled across this when I was losing weight last year. But I'm glad to have found it now. Maintenance, for me, is just as hard if not harder than losing it.

Are you the Adi on DGI? If so, I'm Kalne! Small world, huh?

That would be me. Just finished feeding the kids and eating dinner before I go milk since the rains have stopped and the sun is out.
Glad to see you here. I maintained for many years but regained it all the past three years. Time to get it off again.
I agree that maintenance is very hard.

Adi......Loved what you had to say. Couldn't be happier for you. I never thought it was possible to be this happy on a weight loss plan! I have found that just reading everyone's posts here makes all the difference for me whether it's an answered question or encouragement that I need! What a great group of caring friends. Wouldn't it be the coolest thing ever to be able to meet everyone in person!
