The Importance of Water

I read this in the main lobby this morning and can certainly relate. I sometimes realize I have not had any water all day. Just coffee and diet coke.
How I learned to drink my water: A cautionary tale

I hardly ever drink water. I know I should drink it more, but I doubt I'll change. lol

My body produces too much uric acid and I get awful kidney stones, so I drink a LOT of water. It can be a pain, but it's worth it.

I read that too, and it made an impression.

For years, pretty much the only time I drink water is when taking meds 2 or 3 times per day. Other than that, it's mostly just been coffee and wine, lol. Lately hot tea as well.

But over the last few weeks when I was feeling under a lot of stress due to medical issue with my Dad, I noticed I was naturally drinking more water. After having my morning hot tea or coffee, I seemed to be gravitating toward plain water for the rest of the day and evening

The stress is gone and I'm back to drinking less water again, except when taking meds or the feeling of thirst comes over me. I mostly have coffee, tea, whatever I get in my fruit and veggies, and some wine.

I will try to drink more again.

Thanks for posting.

Wow! Thanks for that link. Good reminder that it's delusional to think that fat loss and water loss are the same thing. dehydration can be fatal! Glad I love my water!

I abhored drinking water until I started adding lemon juice to it......and now I actually look forward to getting it all down.

The added benefit is that lemon juice releases toxins from the body.

I love to use lemons to help with water retention since I can gain 5 pounds overnight. I am a sponge in that regards. Plain water I sometimes forget. Going to make sure I am better about drinking my water from now on.

I find that I have to be even more cognizant of drinking enough water on JUDDD. I range from very low carb to moderate carb, to some fairly high-carb days, not as part of the plan but just as a matter of what I eat and when. I find that if I go a couple of days very low carb, I lose a lot of water (have to go to the bathroom more often) . If I follow that up with a high carb day, my body needs water for that glucose, but it doesn't have it...

I've had a couple of nights when I've woken with leg cramps after a higher-carb day, usually with some alcohol, too, after a few days of very low carb.

I've found that I absolutely HAVE to drink more water when I go from a very low carb day to a higher carb day, or I have leg problems (restless, cramping, etc.)
