Double Down Day

I know I saw a thread on this, but can't seem to locate it.

How much would this kink my rotation rhythm? It seems that it has happened by accident a couple of times because I had an event coming and didn't want to have two UDs. So, I threw in a mid day of 700, but I am thinking it may help me to keep the two days DD of 500 or less. Just curious and really enjoying my DD!

It has been done, but not something that is suggested we do on a regular basis. Pat experimented with it and she felt it didn't do anything more so why do 2 DDs if you don't have to. And remember; A MD is the calories in-between an UD and DD, which is the usually figured out by adding your DD and UD and then dividing in half. Example with my calories: 1800 UD/700 DD added together is 2500 calories divided in half would be 1250. <<<< This is what I use for my MD calories that I do every Sunday now.

It really depends on your metabolism. Two DDs in a row is long enough to move some bodies out of stress response (our friend) into the dreaded starvation mode. It would be a short trip though, so it should not do any harm to most bodies.

I think sometime last year (before I got here - darn it, cause it sounds like fun) Pat and a group did some experimenting with two-DD-days-in-a-row and other combinations. And found the extra DD did not make a big difference to their weight loss rate.

Yes, Beeb! This does help!!! I have been doing my MD wrong, I fear! My numbers are 1700/500. I will definitely just do a real MD, when this arises, because my main objective is to keep going down. Which JUDDD is doing the downwards path for me!!!

Thanks!!!

Nancy,

Thanks for letting me know, because I definitely don't want to slow things down. I am very interested in keeping the rhythm going. DD makes it easier for me because I work 2 jobs and sometimes, I feel like I fail at getting the higher numbers in.

For me, I did 2 dd's in a row twice now and both times, the 2nd dd I just had no energy at all, and I was starving and cranky lol.

I did a Double DD once. Not planned. I ate a very small breakfast then ran errands all day and brought a protein shake with me. By the time I got home it was about 6pm and I had only had about 200 calories. The next day my BF and I had the "whole" day off together- doesn't happen often. So I decided not to eat the other 1550 calories in like 4 hours, but instead have another DD. Followed by a GREAT UD!! I probably could have made it a MD. Didn't notice it helping or hurting my weightloss.

I did 2 DD in a row just a few days ago! I had way over done it with the UD, it was just one of those days where it is too much food for too long, and then I had lots of food for a few days, anyway i decided to break even to do 2 DD in a row! i am still well and alive! No bad stuff happened to me and now I am back on track!

If need be i'd still do 2 DD as I felt a need for it!

But remember - we are all different!

Hi,

I have a similar question. Today ended up being a 1000-calorie down day (usually I do 500; the day before was an up day). Should tomorrow be an up day or a down day?

Thanks

Hey Avicenna,
When that happened to me, I called it a technical term usually expressed as "oopsie" and continued the rotation as planned. In the long run, I find re-establishing my planned rotation is the most important thing.

Sounds good - it's funny, 1000 calories would have seemed like a little food in the past, but now I'm feeling quite overfull...

Oooooohhhhh....ok.

So, we're not talking about just eating at KFC all day long.

Double Down Day. Two in a row. Got it.

I tried it once. Saltiest, nastiest thing I've ever tried to eat. *shudder* I'd rather have regular fried chicken on the bone. And MUCH prefer Popeye's to KFC.
