A spinach salad with citrus (to aid the iron absorption)? Just don't have anything with calcium in conjunction. It will block the iron.

MD (instead of my normal rotation of UD) since I need tomorrow to be an UD for a party. I don't know how well it'll go though because OV time is here. Every day has been easy this week, including DDs right up to yesterday even. Today I'm struggling like crazy not to chew my arm off and it's not even 11am yet. Ah, OV time, how I don't miss you!

B: coffee
L: 2 soft-boiled eggs, 4 slices bacon, canned salmon with chopped sour dill pickle, small bit of mayo and greek yogurt
D: low carb pizza with spicy italian sausage + onions + peppers, low carb herb biscuit, drunken goat cheese

Around 1100 calories.

Keira got up early and we were able to make it to the store before school, so here's a complete change of menu! Trying to get more iron today to see if I feel better.

B: My usual vitamin, coffee, and McDonald's oatmeal (298 and 43% iron)
L: Whole wheat thin bun, Jone's Braunschweiger - 2 slices, mustard, 2 C raw spinach, 3 oz. grape tomatoes, WF dressing, 1 navel orange (408 and 50% iron)
D: Undecided, but I'm up to 93% of my recommended iron and have 1294 calories left over.

I really need to control my carb intake better. I have been eating way too many of them on up days, and they make me bingey, hungry, and frankly drive the calorie count too high too fast.

I am going to work on only having 1 carby meal per up day. I am sad to give up my toasted English muffins w/fried eggs for breakfast, but they can still be an occasional treat.

Up day today:

B: 3 egg omelet w/2 oz Double Gloucester cheese & chives, 1 T butter to cook (550 cals)

L: Salad of arugula, grilled chicken strips, and Trader Joe's Champagne Pear Vinaigrette.

D: Going out to the pub. Fish n' chips and maybe a beer.
