The DD "cold" is the hardest part for me!

I know this is a good thing and it means things are working - but OMG - the absolute hardest part for me on DD's is how COLD I get. Not just a little chilly, but FREEZING. I have on 2 or 3 sweaters, heavy socks, jeans or sweats, a blanket around me or in my lap, and my nose feels like a darn icicle on those days.

Yesterday was just a nightmare. Even last night trying to go to sleep, I had extra blankets on and everything, and still had to go get my heavy robe and drape it over the bed on top of everything else just to get barely warm enough to sleep.

I've got the eating part down to a science, and rarely have a white knuckle moment anymore, but this part is just miserable.

I drink hot tea, coffee, broth - I take hot baths - all of it helps in the short term, but then it wears off and I am downright arctic again.

I'm actually looking forward to the real desert heat of the summer, when I can just walk outside to warm up, but that will take a while. I may be the only person in Las Vegas wearing a sweater when it is 110 degrees out!

Wow! Hang in there! I have never experienced the cold thing though I've read posts about others who have.

One thing you might try is eating something thermogenic. I stir one teaspoon of extra virgin coconut oil into a cup of 20 calorie fat free hot chocolate. That really cranks up my body heat and my energy and kills my appetite.

Don't do it before bedtime though. You won't sleep!

Today is an UD, but I got up late, and so have only had time to have a protein bar and coffee (I did add coconut oil to that), but really haven't had a chance to eat much, so I am STILL freezing.

Think I need to have a BIG hot lunch!

Finally got to eat lunch - really not that big, but a pre-made turkey lasagna (nice and hot)from Fresh and Easy and a small chocolate bar. My body FINALLY feels like it is the right temperature again!

I know what you mean about the DD cold.

It's a down day for me and I just noticed I am freezing. Usually hits me around this time of day and lasts until I go to bed.

Fortunately for me, DH is a freakin' furnace (even on his DDs) and lets me put my freezing cold hands and feet on him (with some good-humored complaining). A hot hot bath also helps me but you've said you've tried that.

How about exercise? That also warms me up. I think I'm gonna go work out now, in fact.

don't you all find this any time you lose weight, not just down days? the metabolism lowers and we just feel cold. I think most people do. when it gets really bad, suspect your thyroid and get tested. that turned out to be my problem.

Last night I was frozen! DDs are getting colder and colder!

Two words: Electric Blanket. I only have a heating pad and it's not enough anymore. I need a whole blanket.

I'm currently researching anemia and that can be one of the signs. I suspect none of us get enough iron on DDs. I'm thinking fresh spinach is going to becoming a much bigger part of my DD menus!

I do take a multivitamin every day, so am hoping that makes up for whatever I am missing on DD's and try to make food decisions based on nutrient value, since I am not eating much overall, but you may be right - it may be a lack of iron. I'll have to double check my vitamins! I do love myself a good spinach salad!

My multivitamin gives 33% of the recommended daily value. I checked ************ and I'm getting less than 50% every day, even on UDs!

I get really cold on DDs. My SO knows when its a DD from me complaining how cold I am. Since I have started using coconut oil again on DDs I have noticed its better but I am still much colder on FDs than on UDs.

OK, so does anyone get cold on UDs? I know, if it's cold out you may be cold, but I mean when the weather is nice are you cold on UDs at all?

I'm not at all, actually feel warmer than ever before, even with the weight loss, on my UDs but DDs I am dressed like Nanook of the North no matter what the weather!

Nope - the only time I am cold on up UD is in the morning, before I eat a whole lot - when my body still doesn't think it is going to get fed, I assume. But the rest of the day (as long as the weather is cooperating), I am perfectly normal. (At least from a temperature perspective anyway... )

Lol.... I was cold while doing LC.... Stupid 20 pounds were keeping me warmer.... Still don't miss them.

Second dd yesterday was awful. I slept with a hotpad, if tomorrow is bad I may need to get an electric blanket.

I'm in this club. DDs are cold. No, downright freezing. I rarely wake up cold though. I don't know why that is. Even before I starting JUDDD I would get cold anytime I went so long without eating. I am hypot. and I know that is part of it.

I noticed that I was cold every single day when I was losing more steadily 2-3 months back but when the loss slowed the past 6 weeks, I was only cold on DDs. Just this past week when the loss starting picking up again, I've been cold every day again.

If it's any help to those who can't sleep because they are so cold--on those days, I put on socks to go to bed, because I guess it's some sort of "fact" that if your feet are cold, you can't warm up. Don't remember where I heard that one.
Also, I literally get out of bed, take a warm fuzzy throw and wrap it around my body as if it is a towel and I just got out of the shower. Then I get back into bed under the bazillion covers with my socks on. These two things warm me up enough to fall asleep.

I made a point of getting plenty of iron today. It's an UD, but lately I've been cold on UDs too. It's 3 hours after lunch and I'm toasty as can be. I haven't been freezing all day, and haven't even been cold since a bit after breakfast. I think there's something to this!
