I just did this one yesterday:



I'm going to change things a little starting tomorrow. Today is a DD, and I will
have some calories today- and will try to get to the "normal" calories tomorrow.
The calories that I have been eating aren't going to help my metabolism. I have
been eating an average of just over 1500 every two days, so yikes! That's only
750 (or 760) daily average. Might as well be doing just any old low-calorie diet
if I'm going to eat that low, right? This thread was the impetus for my deciding
to change things up....

I think that's a WONDERFUL plan! I'm not sure what's going on with me. I was losing very well, slowed down a little, lowered my calories, had a whoosh, and am now losing slower still. I'm giving it a week, then upping my calories for a week or so to see if that helps.

JUDDD's an amazing plan, but it really is all about finding the right combination and dialing it in! Keep us updated.

OK, I have been managing higher calorie counts for a week now:

380
1802
370
1815
375
1824
360
1783

I'm down 1 1/2 lbs. This has been a lot harder than I expected. I even made
boxed mac & cheese today, just for the calories! Would you all just stay at
these calories? I'd like to eat as many calories as possible, while still losing-
that just seems to be the premise behind JUDDD. But if I'm going to continue
eating these calories, I'm going to have to spend more time menu-planning,
especially for school days, since it's not so easy to get all my calories in when
I'm depending on the cafeteria/coffee shop/vending machines.

It was Andrea, I believe, who posted a good while back that she was experimenting with raising her calories, because she showed a loss afterwards (a couple of cycles).
I had been thinking the same for myself, and I have stuck to it with great success. I went from 500/1800 to 650/1950 and now 750/2200 in maintenance.

I think that for those who can relax and experiment to see if our metabolisms can handle the higher numbers will just give it a little time, we will find that we can nourish our bodies (and souls, too ) better than we realized. We do ourselves a great disservice to lower the fires that fuel the furnace. I would never be able to enjoy the fun activities that I do now were it not for the calories I consume without worry.

I am starting to push my limits a bit too. Barely lost at first on 500/1400, but I did get down 2 pounds in the first month. Now, in maintenance, I've lost 2 more pounds, and my cals are around 850/1600. That feels good to me. More than that on an UD and I feel just too stuffed.

Pami, a good way to add calories is to add good fats--avocado and hard boiled egg on your salad. And extra tbsp of salad dressing. Butter on your veggies/bread/potato. A dollop of sour cream. HWC in your coffee. That sort of thing.
