Calamari is good stuff! You just have to have it cooked right (ie: battered and fried!) :)

Dottie 03-03-2012 08:26 AM

Not sayin' I would automatically take her word for it, but my money's on "you probably earned it" :D

ouizoid 03-03-2012 08:53 AM

sophiethecat 03-03-2012 09:16 AM

You guys are cracking me up! :hyst: I love deep fried slimy rubberbands too! :yummy:

It's a DD until at least 5 p.m. for me, when it switches back over to FD, per my MUDDD schedule.

Black coffee so far, and plan to have black tea later.

I slept in a lot more than usual for me, and now find that I don't have too long to be in the DD portion of my day, lol.

katecat 03-03-2012 09:22 AM

DD and struggling!

L: large bowl homemade, fat free veg soup.

S: An apple.

D: think this will be white fish with veg...........but what I really want is anything sugary, fatty and filling :(

ouizoid 03-03-2012 09:58 AM

Kate--hang in there--soon those feeling will pass, and you can have something nice tomorrow. I might go with more protein and fewer carby things on your dd.

Was going to suggest the same - try low calorie protein foods on your DDs. Shrimp and other seafood, small amounts of other meats, egg whites, protein shakes or bars, etc. There is a sticky at the top of the forum on DD foods. Many of us enjoy the cabbage & protein dish which is quite filling and depending on how you make it, the whole skillet of food can be eaten just a few hundred calories.

Hang in there and let us know if you need more suggestions, Kate. :hugs:

KeirasMom 03-03-2012 10:16 AM

DD

B: Leo's Brownie in a Mug (tweaked with coconut Davinci's) :yummy:
Taking Keira roller skating in a bit.
L: 1/2 the bag of Trader Joe's shrimp and vegetable stir-fry
D: The other 1/2 of the stir-fry

That's my plan, but DH isn't up yet, so we may share the stir-fry when K and I get home, then dinner will be a Lean Cuisine or small Wendy's chili.

****** says 167 calories

Yam-Yam 03-03-2012 11:37 AM

OMGosh! ROFL about the slimy fried rubber bands! which I also love!

Today is my 39th wedding anniversary! UD Woo-Hoo! Trying to be careful about daytime calories so I can have BREAD with my prime rib tonight. Oh, they have the BEST bread in the world. With a bit of EVOO, balsamic and fresh ground pepper it's heaven!:steak:

Breakfast: coffee/ 2 TBLSP half and half for 40 calories
Wheybolic protein shake for 130 calories

Lunch: Home made cabbage/vegetable soup with 2 oz. chopped up chicken breast for 150 calories

Snack: Maybe an apple or maybe one cup of frozen blueberries not sure

Dinner: Old Zin red wine, bread!, 3 oz. prime rib, green salad w/ evoo and vinegar, steamed asparagus, double portion, more wine:hyst:

Definitely will bring home leftovers as the small serving of prime rib is 8 oz.

I'll figure out dinner calories and eat as much as I'm allowed to my 1900 UD limit for sure!

Happy Wedding Anniversary, Yam-Yam. :birthday: :birthday: (Just pretend the birthday celebration emoticon is for this occasion!)

Lianora Mosswood 03-03-2012 12:02 PM

DD and so far about 100 calories of HWC. I am saving the rest for a meal around 4:00, which will be high in protein and some low-cal veg--I need to go shopping, so not sure exactly what that will end up being.

Congratulations on 39 years, Yam-Yam! That's terrific!

KathyL 03-03-2012 12:12 PM

I like slimy fried rubber bands. :)

Today is a DD and I'm going with a complete fast. Still trying to lose a few since getting back home from a trip (when we tried to hit all our favorite old eating spots in 4 days LOL).

Alcestis 03-03-2012 12:15 PM

Yam-Yam, happy anniversary! Your new pic is AWESOME too.

DD here:

B: coffee
L: broth (15)
D: beef and veggie stir fry (350)
S: Greek yoghurt (150)

It's 2.15pm and I'm doing well so far. I've been waiting to get an MRI on my back. They called and offered me an appointment this afternoon which I jumped at because it'll distract me from eating :D

Yam-Yam 03-03-2012 12:24 PM

Al: Hope your back will be ok! :console:

Thanks, everyone for the anniversary wishes!

Now you all have me thinking about calamari so I might have to figure out how many calories would be in it and get some for an appetizer tonight. Anyone have a wild guess?? How many slimy, fried rubber bands would equal how many calories? I can figure out the red sauce. :help: Gotta decide if it will be worth the calories. Maybe I should google it?:dunno:

Dottie 03-03-2012 01:05 PM

yam-yam I figure about 300 calories for 1/2 a normal sized appetizer serving :) (just going from livestrong's average they're showing).
And I had them at lunch and they were GOOD! :)
