Hmmmm - normal scales unpacked!

They have me 6lbs heavier than the other ones - not happy!

However, I suppose if you don't use the same scales all the time - it's not always going to be accurate!!

Nevermind - it is my starting point - no-one else sees the number on the scales - may have to adjust to 30lbs lost (since I last weighed on these scales - though can't quite remember what I was. The important thing is that the number keeps going down from here (with the odd bounce - which we know will happen!!)

I am not put off - I'm just excited to see how things go from now....

Off to adjust my new weight on my siggy - Oh Well!!

So let's just say that gravity has a different amount of 'pull' depending on which
hemisphere you are in when you weigh. Yeah, that sounds reasonable...

Unfortunately the other ones were in the same hemisphere. Not going to slow me down though!!

I was worried about that.

Jostling around in transport can effect scale's calibration. Heck, even different surfaces (flexible wood v hard tile v springy carpet) can make a difference in scale's reading.

YOU know you continued to lose inches! WE are all proud of and impressed by you! As you say, chose a weight and start working from there. You are still one of our weight-loss poster children!

Sorry that there is a change in the numbers on the scale dial, and there is no way to really tell if it's due to the scale being jostled around in transport, or what, but I agree with you as to the reaction: Oh, Well... a number is just a number is just a number. And doesn't mean much. What is important is that weight loss is happening, and one of these days, you're going to be the size you're seeing for yourself in the future.

Does it have a reset button? If it does, you may be able to recalibrate it by resetting and letting it run through the test sequence

I remember when I bought my current scale, there was like a 10 pound (!!!!) difference with my old one. Since my new was hiiiiiiighly rated on Amazon as accurate (it's the Eat Smart scale, I loooove it) I went with the new weight and just went from there. As long as the scale itself is accurate when compared with itself then you'll still see the trend, I wouldn't care too much about the difference between the two scales (other than chucking one of them!).

Julie I got one of those last week and it was exactly what my old scale said. I love the wider platform and the bright backlight as well as the "step on" instead of tap on.
I just ordered my mother one because she was complaining she can't see the numbers on hers lol.

Oh when I went to walmart looking, I had 8 scales all lined up and was stepping on them going down the line lol. Not one of them was withing 1/2 a pound of each other. between the 8 scales, there was a 14 pound difference! And none of them was within a pound of my scale at home.
That's why I was really surprised (and pleased) the eatsmart was right on the number

Dottie I like it because it's so accurate for me! With my old scale, I'd go on naked, and it would say something. I'd put on my jeans and a sweater and shoes, step on, same weight. I'd drink a huge glass of water, same weight! So how can you trust something like that. With this scale though, I step on, and it gives me a weight. I step back on holding a 5 pound weight, and it gives me weight + 5. I step on with a 1 pound weight and it gives me weight +1. So at least I can believe what it says!
