So, it happened to me...

I have to laugh at myself. I read the whole thread (and many posts) where everyone complained about being cold on DDs. I believed it, but I'm always having cold or hot days or whatever. There are certain time of the day, like right before bed, that I'm just freezing, but it is a mistake to put on lots of warm clothes because I always wake up in the middle of the night dying of heat prostration and have to strip. I'm always like that, so I thought, how could it change? How could it get worse?

Well, last DD (Tues), I was especially cold at night. I was wrapped up in my blanket like a burrito. I didn't even want to take my hand out to change the channel...much too cold. (We have the heat on 72...) Didn't think much of it. Yesterday, was cold, but "normal cold." (Whatever that is, right? ). Today, I sit here at my desk, on a very warm day in Southern Arizona, with a light sweater on, literally freezing! The cold is coming from within! I've got goosebumps! My nose is frozen! I need my heating pad.

I've been stuck around the same weight for the past week and half, so hopefully, I'll start dropping again. I'm hoping that maybe this means that my body is regulating.

I feel like maybe, just maybe, I'm a real JUDDDer now.

I HOPE SO!!! I'm going to put a chocolate under my pillow for her.

I need to start carrying around my heating pad. I keep getting the chills, my hands are getting too cold to type, and I won't be too crude, but if there were any men over here right now, they'd think I was quite...ahem...excited.

Sounds like your body is reacting. This does sound like weight loss is in the offing.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

And in the meantime, grab a cozy polar fleece jacket or some such.. layer another blanket on your bed which can be thrown off later if you get too warm under the covers.

Faithful JUDDDers may feel cold sometimes, but their faithfulness is usually rewarded with weight loss.

DH jokes that he's going to have to buy me 2 snuggies; one to wear the regular way, and the other to wear backwards, so that there's absolutely no chance of a draft!

Maybe we should start a thread on "How to stay warm on your DD" or something similar. I've seen suggestions every once in a while.

I have mittens in my desk drawer at work. I cut the finger tips off so I can still type, but I wear them A LOT!

I live in AZ. I'm lucky to have a "real" winter coat. Snow suit? That's unheard of!

As for the snuggie idea, it's not a bad one. Although, methinks I'd have just as much luck putting on a robe backwards...

My friend makes these things that are like gloves without fingers - she crochets them. I need a pair!

I missed this post before - anyway you guys are cracking me up!

My Dad got me a Snuggle for Christmas, well, actually I think it's some other version because you have to get inside it, then fold it around you in a way I haven't figured out yet and then snap all the enclosures... it was too complicated for me, so I use it on the bed as extra warmth around my neck

I find that I can't fall asleep until my feet are warm (and they take the longest of any body part to warm up!), but I overheat half-way through the night with too many blankets. I have three strategies I use, depending on how cold my feet are:
  • For late fall/early spring: Stick my feet in the tub and run warm water over them.
  • For a bit colder nights: Use a hot water bottle (I bought mine online and LOVE it!)
  • For December - February: put electric blanket on the bed. Pre-heat on HIGH 20-30 minutes before I crawl into bed. Turn it off when I am warm and before I go to sleep.

Thank you for asking! It was. I ended up losing 2 lbs in a matter or days. Here are my weights since I started tracking:

3/3 - 172.0
3/4 - 172.6 (for like the umteenth millionth time)
3/5 - 171.9
3/6 - 171.2
3/7 - 170.9
3/8 - 170.4
3/9 - 170.3
3/10 - 170.0
3/11 - 171.1 (Ate late on Saturday night...so usually up a little when that happens)
3/12 - 170.5
3/13 - 172.2 (start TOM and am retaining...yay)

I'm sure the 170's have stuck, so that is pretty cool!

Thank you for the ideas! I have a heating pad that I will wrap around my feet. I'm the same way as you...if my feet are hot, I'm miserable! But, it takes awhile to warm them up...if they are cold, I'm freezing!
