have you tried putting your microwave on a lower power setting?
Like, 90 or 80%?

PS--"Tarnation". That's where stuff gets burned to.

The directions on my package says "Do not use the popcorn button (setting)." And there are some unpopped kernals but that is to be expected. Such a small amount pops fast.

LOL will use that (the expression and the power lower) in the future!

I guess I'll have to live with unpopped kernels... drives me nuts though, so I add 10 seconds, and maybe 5, and WHAMMO, burn.

Dannon Oikos non-fat/plain Greek yogurt (80 calories) with 2 tsp of protein powder and a splash of davinchi SF syrup. (Lots of protein and filling for about 100 calories- depends on the protein powder)

1 splenda and cinnamon works too. As does a tsp of PB2 and 1 splenda!

Apparently the nutrition info takes into account the unpopped kernals. since it states that 3 T popcorn unpopped is 110 calories and the packet popped is 100 calories. ALL kernals will rarely pop regardless of the method.

I love my Dannon Oikos! I have it almost every day, including up days. I buy the large container and measure it out. 1 Cup is 120 calories and 22 or 23 grams of protein (I think). I use it to make lassis, have it in a bowl with fruit, etc., etc. It can even be used in place of sour cream.

What are some of your favorite lassi low cal combos? Always blend with ice to bulk it up? Thanks!

I just mix 1 C yogurt with 8-10 oz. water and whatever Mio flavor I feel like. PirateJenny suggested cardamom, so I add 1/4 tsp as well, and shake it all up in my shaker cup with the mesh top. It gets a tiny bit foamy and is sooo filling!

An update from the popcorn challenged

I had a bag the other day, did 1:40(minutes) at 90%... still got a bit singed, but much better than previous I'll go 1:35 next time.

I had 20 kernels unpopped (um, I'm a wee bit OCD ) so I ran them through my air popper (which the instructions said specifically NOT TO DO, so don't try this yourself)... and they came out fine with only 2 unpopped.

I feel vindicated, and I also think those 20 kernels were calorie free

I also changed up my procedure. I weighed out 33 g of popcorn(that is what the little pouch said) and air popped them. Same calories and way cheaper and no chance of burning. Course I will still have to use the micorwave pouches if I want any at work.
Glad you found a way to salvage.

I haven't had a chance to read this entire thread, but wanted to add these...so if it's a repeat, sorry!

Broccoli slaw (shredded broccoli) at Trader Joe's. I use it instead of shredded cabbage in recipes, I like the taste better and similar calorie count.

Edamame at Trader Joe's in the frozen section. I buy the fully cooked type so I can take them to work and just steam them in the microwave. I grind fresh sea salt over them. Only 120 cals for a third of the bag and a great protein source.

Oh! One more! Trader Joe's little Soy Crackers. 35 for 110 calories. YUM with laughing cow cheese @ 35 cals.

For those with a sweet tooth - I just found marshmallow bits. Crunchy little marshmallow pellets. They are tiny but I can eat them one at a time and feel like I have had desert on a DD. 2T for 20 calories. Comes in chocolate too. Oh the recipe possibilities --- mmmm on sf chocolate pudding or mixed into sf jello.
