I love, love miracle rice/noodles.
I am a strict LC so I make decadent meals with them on UDs, but they are a life saver on DDs.

I'm bumping this up. This forum has been so helpful to me. From this forum, I've already bought the pickles (maybe 5 jars--haven't eaten them all), chicken potstickers (even though I didn't know what they were), dijonaise, and some Gorton's fish (I think that was on here :?). Oh, and I bought some new teas to drink. I couldn't find the ones mentioned on here but I got others to experiment. Love new 'finds'!

POP CHIPS
Omg are these ever good. I was hungry after my 120 cal soup in the afternoon so I picked up an individual pack of sour cream and onion pop chips for 100 calories. There was a large serving for the calories. There are several flavors too. These are a must try!

A food from my childhood: PICKLED NOPALITOS!
Nopal is a cactus; aka OPUNTIA, I've been seeing it sold as weight loss pills in recent years.

Nutritional info for 5oz (!!!) serving:
Calories: 25*
Carb: 5g
--Fiber: 4g*
--Sugar: 2g*
Protein: 1g

*I know the sugar + fiber should add up to the toal carb, so something's a little off with the label. But if you don't count fiber calories (I don't), this actually adds up to only 8-12 calories per serving!!! And I could only manage half a serving this morning, in my eggs.

I was stunned to find it in my local Weis market; I live in a very non-Latino area of NJ! There are Latino supermarkets about an hour from me; I'm hoping I can find bigger jars of it, or maybe get fresh or frozen "paddles" there.

I don't know if they'll be easy to find unless you have good Mexican products in your area.

Anyway, the only way I remember eating it was in scrambled eggs or in a taco (soft corn tortilla). But you can eat the pickled nopalitos hot or cold, so I imagine they'd be good in many kinds of salads & veggie dishes--maybe even the famous cabbage dish! They're also good in refried beans.

They're a little slimy, like aloe or okra. I personally cannot stand the sliminess of okra, but nopalitos aren't AS slimy, so I don't mind. If you like pickled okra, these probably won't bother you at all!

5 g carb-4 g fiber = 1 net carb + 1 g protein × 4 = 8 calories.
Or, since the label info doesn't quite add up,
2 g sugar + 1 g protein × 4 = 12

Either way, less than the label says.
I double-check all nutrition info;
there's a lot of discrepancy with the fiber calories,
so I go by the net carbs.

More Trader Joes ( I am a fan)

Steamed clams. A whole tray of baby clams in yummy garlic sauce for 210 calories. Add zucchini noodles or shirataki and YUM!

They also have a bolognese sauce made with ground turkey for about 230 calories ( don't remember the exactl count) but that will also be awesome for DD.

Not to forget the pulled BBQ chicken. I am planning on that for tomorrow's DD piled high on either a wasa toast or maybe half a light sour dough flat bread.

Hey! I made a special trip to a World Market Cost Plus near my CA office, special for this

I found it (the orange chocolate), and Republic of Tea also makes a collection of "chocolate" teas-- chocolate mint, chocolate strawberry, and chocolate coconut... I bought the strawberry and it's pretty good!

I'm going to need a bigger kitchen for all the tea I now have!!!

I discovered today that Walmart's Great Value brand of water flavoring drops (like MIO) is sweetened with SUCRALOSE!! (not aspartame like Mio). I can't do aspartame without getting migraine headaches. 0 calories this stuff!! I bought one bottle of each flavor and the fruit punch tastes just like KoolAid tropical punch. I'm looking forward to trying the other flavors as well.

Mio is sweetened with sucralose (along with acesulfame potassium), which is one of the reasons I originally tried it. I specifically avoid Crystal Light 'cause it uses aspartame. I'm sure it is better NOT to use chemical sweeteners, but I suppose there are some better than others.

They must have changed it then, because it was aspartame in the beginning, because I put it back on the shelf when I read that on the label. Good to know it has changed. thanks.

Not the healthiest way to go, but I find it easier to stick to DD's if I just stick to prepackaged foods. Smart Ones Chicken Enchiladas Suiza for 290 cal. with a couple of packs of Taco Bell hot or fire (depending on my mood) is my main go to one.

I've picked up some of both Lean Cuisine & Smart Ones but what I've tried so far, Smart Ones taste better. I'm sure there will be some LC I prefer more.

More Trader Joe finds today!!!! I snagged a veggie pizza of good size for 250 total and some rigatoni w cheese for 320-330 that is heat and eat. Now sitting in my freezer for the day I need it. I had the Trader Joes cioppino for dinner tonight (a DD) a cup and a half of delicious, hot filling protein for 255 calories. It's been a tough DD today. Could have been because I exercised first thing this morning but I find it strange how I sail through some with no problem and others are pure torture.

Members mark mesquite chicken breast (Sams club) 220 cal for whole breast
miracle rice
2 tbsp salsa 10 cal
couple of shakes of tacos seasoning (in a shaker)minimal cal, I don't count but if so, maybe 5?
