What is the usual amount of weight people lose

I am starting JUDD tomorrow and was wondering how fast most people lose weight on JUDD. I am asking because I have a lot of weight to lose.

Hi - Welcome & Good luck!!

Weight loss will be dependent on sooooo many things - I don't think we can say 'usual' amount...

I started at 264.6lbs and in the first 2 months lost 25lbs (haven't weighed this last month) - I'm sure Dawn (Keira's Mom) won't mind me saying she is another of the bigger losers here at the JUDDD board - and she has lost 40.6lbs in 4 months I think.

However, if you start small - you may lose slower. If you start big and don't follow it right - you may find you lose slower.

You may find you lose faster - all I know is stick with it - it works!!!!!

A good way to reference others' weight loss is the daily weigher thread. It is a good way to see what other JUDDDers with your similar stats are doing.

Vicky's right. I think those of us with more to lose, tend to lose faster. It seems to be that way with most eating plans, as weight loss slows the closer one gets to goal (although I have heard JUDDD is not always like that in that people seem to lose pretty steadily toward the end as well).

BTW Vicky, when are you getting your scales back??? The suspense is killing me! :faint:

I was losing 1/2 lb per week on low carb, and decided to switch to JUDDD in December. It's been just under 11 weeks and I've lost 30.8 lbs (40.6 total with low carb loss included since October). I have adjusted my calories twice to coincide with my lost weight. Some people never have to adjust, but I did, and I'm perfectly happy to continue doing so if I can continue to have such wonderful results.

HTH!

Thanks for the info

Thanks so much for the info Keira's mom, I was told you were one of the members who had lost the most on JUDD, I am hoping to have as much success as you have had because I have a lot of weight to lose.

Oh, there's plenty of other JUDDDers who have lost lots more than I have. Thankfully for them, they are at maintenance, where I hope to be at some point. I'm still learning as I go too, so I rely heavily on the expertise found here. This is the best, most informative group of people I've ever "met" so I hope you continue to ask whatever questions you have.

@ Dawn - scales arrive on Wednesday - but how I'll find them in amongst 24 cubic metres of boxes - I'm really not sure!!!!!!!

Thank goodness those scales are on the horizon! They may be hidden somewhere in a zillion boxes but at least they will soon be in your home. Vicky, there are a metaphorical ton of us who are almost as anxious as you are to see what has happened since you left your Mom's house!

My first month on JUDDD I lost about a pound a week. In the middle of the fourth week that old JUDDD magic kicked in (I accumulated enough sirtuin enzymes to create appetite suppression). Since then, except for a slow down on a long and tasty vacation weekend, I am losing between 2 and 2.5 pounds a week.

Since I am post menopausal and don't exercise much, I was happy with the pound a week. I am beyond happy now.

I have this horrid feeling though - that I was doing really well - and am currently eating a little too much!! We'll see....
