What time do you stop eating??

I am curious what others do?? Do you have a cut off time on your updays??? Do you then count 36hours from that point. I am curious what other do???

Bonnie 02-26-2012 12:30 PM

I never eat after 6 pm on either day. I eat whenever I'm hungry in the morning, sometimes it is early and sometimes it is lunch time or later. I don't count the hours in between.

Kissa 02-26-2012 12:32 PM

Interesting question Jodi. I am inclined to eat late, usually between 7.30 and 8.30. We always have. But I do the same on most DDs too so it sort of evens out in my case.

KeirasMom 02-26-2012 12:33 PM

I don't worry about times, but it usually works out that I don't eat anything after 7:00 p.m. either day and I don't eat breakfast on DDs. If I have breakfast on an UD, it's usually later in the morning.

sungoddess 02-26-2012 12:49 PM

I stop at 7:30 PM. I don't do it so much for JUDDD, but a habit I got into when trying to become more leptin sensitive.

adillenal 02-26-2012 01:30 PM

I don't eat after 7pm. Has become a habit for me.

Luna Loca 02-26-2012 01:51 PM

I don't have a set cut-off time. I tend to not eat after dinner, whatever time that is, usually around 7 or 7:30 at the latest, when DH gets home. Some days I'm really hungry about 5 pm and I eat my dinner then and don't wait for DH. Either way, nothing after dinner.

itsmeshelly01 02-26-2012 03:29 PM

I usually stop at 730 when I have an evening snack.

MintQ8 02-26-2012 04:02 PM

No specific time. Normally 'after' dinner whenever that is! But sometimes I may have a nibble of chocolate, a biscuit or an ice-cream (when the mood takes me and the calories are available!)

SummerAnne 02-26-2012 05:57 PM

I keep a really screwy sleep schedule so it varies.

LightlyStarched 02-26-2012 06:19 PM

We usually have dinner around 5:30 or 6:00, and I rarely eat after dinner. I like to go to bed on an empty tummy.

Beeb 02-26-2012 07:14 PM

No start or stop time for me. I start to eat when I'm starting to get that "I'm getting really hungry" feeling and I stop when I've had enough. Some days it's all day, some days it's a late start/early stop, some days it's a little of both. ;)

Sedona 02-26-2012 07:27 PM

6:30 p.m.

laranda 02-26-2012 07:53 PM

Midnight-ish :p
I'm a student, so I get up/go to sleep late.

stupid question ! is it typical in the US to have diner so early ??!
here usual diner time is 7:30/8pm and as my boyfriend works quite late we usually eat around 9. eventhough we don't eat the same thing i always wait for him to have diner so i might stop eating around 10....

Kissa 02-27-2012 01:50 AM

Annie, I think that we do eat later in Europe as a rule. Though my sister and her family eat early too.

Horses for courses...

Joedi 02-27-2012 03:56 AM

On an UD I start eating about 12pm, and stop between 11 and 12am. On my dd I don't start eating till after 6pm, and stop about 11pm. I have always been a late eater!

I wonder why so many of us in the US eat the last meal of the day at an early time?

JKat, I eat my last meal sometime between 6 and 8. And, I don't formally keep DDs to 36 hours. Informally, when I look back on the day, it is not unusual for the low cal eating to exceed 43 or 45 hours.

THAT pattern only started after almost a month JUDDDing when the magic (and the appetite suppression) really kicked in.

JKat 02-27-2012 08:56 AM

Thanks for all the responses. I think I do need to a cut off time. I have gotten into a bad habit of getting out of bed to eat in the middle of the night and then it really messes me up when to start and stop my DD and whether those calories go on ud or dd. I know confusing....I have been confused myself. The night time eating is really hindering my weight loss. I need to make some changes.

I think it's been drilled into our heads that we shouldn't eat close to bedtime. Also, most European cultures have an afternoon meal which we don't have. Think Tea or similar. I know I'd be grumpy if I ate lunch at noon and didn't get to eat again until 9:00 at night! Throw a nice afternoon tea in there, and it would be just fine!

LightlyStarched 02-27-2012 10:19 AM

What time do those of you who eat later, say 8:00 or 9:00, go to bed?

I know here in the western U.S., everything seems a little earlier. Our "prime time" TV starts at 7:00, most folks I know are in bed by 10, and we start work usually by 8 am, or earlier. I get to work at 7:00 am.

darlingnikki 02-27-2012 11:26 AM

I always eat late as I usually work out from 9-10PM then I'm too hungry to sleep.

Hazelsmrf 02-27-2012 12:52 PM

I don't have a cut off time, I have a start time though, I don't eat before 2 or 3pm or so. Up day or down day doesn't matter. On a down day I will try to not eat until later, 5 or 6pm.

DD80 02-27-2012 03:50 PM

I don't like to eat late because my stomach can just not digest anything while I'm sleeping. I don't usually get upset stomach or acid reflux, unless I eat a meal late at night. I try to be done eating before 6pm (and usually eat my last real meal at around 3-4pm), but I work out in the evenings and usually grab a snack after that. If I do have to eat dinner late, I eat a smaller dinner. I also feel like I don't lose as well if I eat late.

I start my day eating breakfast around 7:30 am though, so it's a balance. I like to eat more at breakfast and lunch. I just feel better/have more energy/lose weight this way. :)

Truffles 02-28-2012 08:32 AM

We eat really late. After the dinner rush. Mostly around 9pm, and sometimes a snack at 1230 or so. Diet hot cocoa on DD's. But usually don't eat until at the earliest until 11am UD or DD. Mostly later on DD's.

sophiethecat 02-28-2012 08:42 AM

I don't have a cut-off time for eating. I think there's something psychological about it that gets to me if I know I have to stop eating by a certain time... I am a big baby that way, I guess. I have to know I can eat.

So I just assume my "cut-off" time will be when I go to bed. I usually stop eating well before then, but it somehow makes me feel better to know I can eat right up to that time if I want. To be honest, I usually am not eating, but am usually sipping wine til a couple hours before bed.

I don't worry about getting in an exact 36 hours or 24 hours or anything.
