Tough down day

This is my fourth week of doing JUDDD and this is the first really difficult DD I've had. By 3 pm I had already eaten 450 calories. I try to stay under 400-500. So that means I've already eaten everything I am allowed for today. Ugh.

Going to go exercise to try to take my mind off of food. Wish me luck.

Can't wait for this day to be over.

If it were me, and I had tried a hot drink, water etc, and was still starving, I would allow myself 100 extra cals - juddd is very forgiving, and , as a woe for life, it shouldn't be torture. I would have some protein, ie, a boiled egg and a laughing cow light cheese, eaten slowly I find this takes the worst edge off my hunger.

I keep drinking tea with af sweetener in it, go do something else, and if all else fails, go to bed (well so long as it is dark outside). Oh and then start planning my next UD foods!!!!

My problem was (well, I had a couple of them): I woke up this morning at 1:30 (this is a DD), and got to thinking about "stuff," including some problems I've had at work, and I could NOT go back to sleep. I finally just got up, and did some computer stuff.

All that was well and good, but then I decided that my DDs had gone so well, there wasn't really any need for me to bring any food to work with me, which was a mistake. Maybe I'd have been okay if I had not gotten up so early, but it made for a really long day. I really need to have choices available. But I made it all the way through the day at work (and lunch was easy - I just went out to my car and took a nap). Getting home was, uh, interesting. I mean, can't you just see me telling the policeman: "Sorry I was speeding - I was hungry!" Fortunately, I didn't get stopped.

Next time, though....I'll bring food and then I'll have a choice of whether to eat it or not.

I wonder what causes those DDs?

I sail along for weeks enjoying my DDs. Then suddenly, apparently out of nowhere (I am years past menopause) I find myself starving. Gut-hurting, can't distract myself with anything, feeling shaky hungry.

On those days I eat lots of veggies (last time, I walked around the house noshing on a head of Romaine like it was a popsicle), throw in some protein/fat, and forget about counting calories - just try to keep it low.

I usually wake up the next morning with about the same loss I would have expected if I had stayed on track. So, something is going on in my bod those days - it needs those calories. And I always wake up no longer hungry. Strange.

Georgene, I agree 100% - I have to keep choices available, just in case.

I did not "lose" weight. I evicted it. It is gone and it ain't coming back!

JUDDD cares about calories. JUDDD does not care what you eat. Your body probably does.

Thanks! I did at least manage to sleep until my normal wake-up time, and today's an UD, so that helps On the down side, where did this sore throat come from? I am never - I mean NEVER, sick.

So, I'll be working from home, which is not necessarily a bad thing . I'm really glad I have the flexibility to do that.

Thanks everyone for the responses and encouragement! I read yesterday but did not reply, I was on my phone.

Here's what I did:

Exercise to try to take my mind off it (worked for a little while)
Left the house for coffee while DH made his dinner (he was on a DD too)
After two cups of espresso I was still hungry so we went home and I made some egg beaters topped with salsa for like 60 calories. Ate it slowly and waited for about 15 minutes and the hunger stopped. Finally!

Went to bed and woke up not all that hungry, typical.

Thanks again! It's good to know others understand!

Yep, some dds are a challenge.

Seems like that extra protein did you good. I usually have a Pure Protein shake available if I need it; just knowing that I could have it relieves me.

I'm a protein type of gal, and it always seems to do the trick for me.
